We usually meet on the third Tuesday of the month. There are no meetings in July, August, or December. The Next Friends’ meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 7:00 - 8:00 PM at Cedarbrook Community Centre. All are welcome. There are no further events planned for 2025, but the Cedarbrook park Xmas/Holiday tree will be decorated as usual in early December.
New Year’s Resolution Health Walk: confirmed date is Sunday, January 18, at 1:00 in Thomson Memorial Park, with warm up at Scarborough Museum afterwards.
We had a great time decorating our usual Christmas Tree in Cedarbrook Park - hope everyone enjoys it!
We had an excellent turnout for our annual family pumpkin' carving event at the Cedarbrook Community Center on Saturday October 25 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. As shown below, a great time was had by all!
The annual Pumpkin' Parade in Cedarbrook Park was held on the evening of Saturday, November 1 near the Banmoor entrance of Cedarbrook Park. The weather co-operated and we had a great turnout with some beautifully carved pumpkins from the neighbourhood. Click here to see the pumpkin parade video.
Once again we held our Autumn tree walk where we will enjoy the beauty of the trees in our parks, with a focus on native trees and newly-planted trees. As evidenced below, it was a beautiful day to be out in the park!
The last BatWalk of 2025 was held in Cedarbrook Park on Thursday, August 28 at sunset (7:59 pm). This completes our 7th season of bat monitoring in our parks

The Shagata Nachu Taiko drummers returned to Cedarbrook Park as part of Toronto Arts in the Parks 2025 programme on Sunday June 22 at 2:00pm. Despite the heat, the drummers put on an excellent performance to an enthusiastic audience.
Our ever popular evening BatWalks in Cedarbrook Park began on Thursday, May 8 at sunset (8:28 pm).

The Friends of C&TM Parks hosted our annual clean-up in Cedarbrook Park on a fairly chilly Saturday morning , April 26. Despite the threatening weather the brain held off and we were able to collect a lot of trash from around the community centre.
At noon, we headed over to the Scarborough Museum in Thomson Park for another clean-up and information fair (until 3:00). Nice to see people dropping by!
We had an excellent turnout for our Easter themed Scavenger Hunt in Thomson Memorial Park. Everybody had a good time and learned a few things about the park and how to do the Bunny Hop!
The Friends of C&TM Parks hosted a Scarborough History Walk in Thomson Memorial Park on Sunday, March 23, at 1:00 pm.
This walk presented some history of the early settlers to Scarborough and identified some historical features of the park. We also visited the Scarborough Museum after the walk was completed.
Per our annual New Year's tradition, we had a great turnout for our New Year's Resolution Health Walk on Saturday, January 12 at 2:00pm in Cedarbrook Park.
Louise led the walk and guided us through several forest exercises. Everybody hum now!

Senior's Group Tree Walk in Cedarbrae Park
We had a great group of Seniors join us for a walk in Cedarbrook park to enjoy the beautiful weather and trees. We also took in the Tabor Hill Mural Project currently underway.

We had a great group of 15 participants (plus two dogs) join us for a walk in Cedarbrook and Thomson parks to enjoy the beautiful weather and trees. We also took in the Tabor Hill Mural Project currently underway. Fortunately, the ice cream truck had just made a stop in Thomson Park and we all partook of delicious cool treats. We had great group of pumpkin carvers turn out on Saturday, October 26 for our annual community pumpkin carving. As you can see below, we had a wonderful afternoon and carved some great looking pumpkins.

As usual, people brought out their pumpkins for our annual pumpkin parade. This year, we had more than 60 pumpkins from the community in our parade!
As usual , the friends have decorated a tree in Cedarbrook Park for all to enjoy over the holidays, which was followed by a delicious Xmas luncheon!
