This was several months after Japan finally opened the borders to tourism and still had lots of Covid restrictions. I didn't see a single person without a mask in public there. I got a Black Friday deal with Cathay Airlines on the flight. (750 even though it used to be under 500 right before Covid when I was looking originally) The inflight food was incredible I guess people consider it to be an expensive airline like JAL. They also handed out cup noodles in the middle of the night. The smell kind of wakes you up and it was actually the first time I've ever had cup noodles.Â
Flew into Hong Kong and got some dim sum. Even airport dim sum tasted better than most Chinese restaurants I've had. Ordered on the screen so it was super easy but it was kind of shocking to see a dollar sign next to the 60 when paying but it was Hong Kong Dollars. The entire airport is one gigantic terminal pretty much, it's like a 30 minute walk from one side to the other. Bathroom information panels!
