The Freshwater Friends Club (FFC) is an informal, community-powered social club focused on freshwater organisms and their habitats in the Elbow River watershed of southwestren Alberta.
We were formed through a partnership between:
Elbow River Watershed Partnership (ERWP) — a non-profit promoting land–water connection, stewardship, and collaborative watershed management.
Bragg Creek Environmental Coalition (BCEC) — a grassroots initiative dedicated to preserving the Alberta Foothills.
The FFC provides a welcoming space for people of all ages to:
Learn about freshwater ecosystems
Share knowledge and stories
Participate in hands-on stewardship
Connect through community science
Build respectful relationships with water
To promote awareness of freshwater organisms and foster healthy, sustainable relationships with water by supporting actions that protect aquatic life.
