Travel to LSU and between Baton Rouge and New Orleans
Guests may fly into either Baton Rouge International Airport (BTR) or to Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans (MSY).
The Baton Rouge Airport is within 15 minutes of LSU and the recommended conference hotels. New Orleans International Airport is 45 minutes away by car/taxi. There is extremely limited public transport between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. We do not recommend guests attempt traveling by public transport from New Orleans to Baton Rouge.
Conference organizers will help coordinate travel from New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to Baton Rouge for guests arriving on the afternoon of April 17th (before 17:00) and on Saturday April 20 (for guests leaving Baton Rouge for New Orleans after 10:00). In order to take advantage of this group transport, you will have to communicate your travel information to the conference organizers.
Taxi/Uber/Lyft cost about $100 from Louis Armstrong International (MSY) to LSU (Baton Rouge). Attendees wishing to coordinate with each other can use the group Whatsapp.
Attendees interested in exploring New Orleans after the conference can take advantage of group transport to New Orleans on Saturday April 20. Conference organizers will offer guests a menu of options and organize some afternoon/evening activities for those who want to enjoy the famous music and nightlife of New Orleans. If there's sufficient interest, we can help coordinate transport back to Baton Rouge April 21.
