Nate's Bike Maintenance Tips
TIRES - Check tire pressure before each ride. Replace the sealant every 4-6 months. Replace the tires around 1000 miles.
WHEELS - Check the axle torque and hubs before each ride. Replace bearings when it feels rough. Check true and tension at 100 miles.
CHAIN - Wipe clean after each ride. Lube at 100 miles or when needed. Replace around 1000-1400 miles.
BRAKES - Check caliper and rotor bolts at 100 miles. Replace pads when 1mm thick. Bleed when replacing pads or if feel spongy.
SUSPENSION - Wipe stanchions after each ride. Check pressure at 100 miles. Fork: 20-25% sag, shock: 25-30% sag. Wiper, oil service at 1000 miles.
DROPPER - Wipe stanchion after each ride. Full service around 1000 miles.
STEM/HEADSET - Check for play before each ride. Replace bearings if feeling rough.
BOLTS - Check torque every 100 miles.
HELMET - Replace every 3 years or after a crash.
