Pool table

We have a full size pool table in the dayroom. The cover also doubles as a small Table Tennis table. It also has a TV, games consol and a selection of DVDs.

We like to do a bit of exercise when we visit the house

Walks

Jayena is on the GR-7  which stretches from Tarifa to Andorra and on via France, Switzerland, and Eastern Europe to Cyprus.

Jayena → Albuñuelas is

Runs

There are lots of runs from the village

We often do one from the door,  Turn left out the door, turn left up the hill and run for about 2k and return, A nice 4k with a 120mts of climbing. Do it as the sun comes up for Spectacular views both of the sun coming up as you climb and the hills and the Mesa above Jayena as you come back

There's an unofficical 5k parkrun in Granada -first saturday of the month at 9.30am - check out granadagrapevine.com for details

Bike rides

We have only 1 ride done so far, A 11k loop from the house . descend away from the village, Turn right at Fornes turn up an unmarked road and follow it around, 305m of climb, Aim is for 1 Hr.

Swimming

Lots of sea swimming but most local pools are only open school summer holidays and close early September despite it easily still being 30 degrees (Muy Frio !!!)

Bermajales Lake while it looks appealing does have a blue / green algae issue so is not recommended for swimming - instead swim in the river pools above La Resinara

Padel

Jayena has a court (Details to follow)

Fornes and Alhama also have courts and there's plenty in Granada too

Theres lots more local rides , walks and runs on Strava, Komoot or Wikilocs (the local favourite)
