Local shops

There is a small supermarket on Calle Victoria in Jayena that has most things you might need. It has a selection of Fruit and veg, fresh and frozen meat and fish and general essentials including Beer, Wine and soft drinks. It is about a 5/10 min walk from the house. The shop on the square also sells fresh bread and an assortment of every essentials. There's an ironmongers in the village. The mini supermarket in the next village, Fornes, is quite often open when Jayena's is closed - 10 minutes by car (they sell good anchovies!).

Big supermarkets

A bit further afield in Granada & Durcal there's a full range of Supermarkets. Mercadona have branches all over the region as do Lidl, Carrefour and Alcampo.

For stocking up on your way to the house, the best option is to take the Loja motorway route and a couple of minutes off the motorway is a good Mercadona and Lidl.

Vans

Bread Van every morning (except Sunday)

Fresh bread and a selection of pastries. He sounds his horn to tell you he is coming - often around 9am.

Veg Vans

There are random passing Veg vans but there is one every Tuesdays who sells a selection veg, fruit and other things

Fish Van

Banks & Post Office

The village has two bank both with external cashpoints and there's a post office which is open Monday - Friday from 10.15-10.45am!

Pharmacy

The village pharmacy is open Monday-Friday morning and late afternoon/ evening. Its closed around 2-4.30pm. Its 5 minutes from the house so check the times when you get here.
