Students from Guilderland High School organized an Anti-Hate Rally at Guilderland High School on Friday, May 21, 2021.
Students spoke about personal experiences with racism, bigotry and discrimination. The rally also included activities to help attendees gain more insight into these perspectives, as well as ways to identify hate. The rally ended with a pledge to condemn hate, to strive to be more inclusive, and to begin a journey that commends diversity and encourages education of oneself.

Saramarie White reads from a poem she composed during a summer writing workshop sponsored by the Capital District Writing Project. These workshops are designed for young people who love to write and enjoy collaborating with other writers. Workshop facilitators are experienced K-12 educators from the Capital Region. Our facilitators challenge young people to grow as writers in fun and interactive ways and within a supportive community.

Correspondent Nancy Giles talks with Ringgold, who for decades refused to bow to convention during her career, as she stitched a vibrant tapestry of art, history and social commentary, currently featured in an exhibition at the Glenstone Museum in Potomac, Maryland.
