The A walk, led by Christine, starts at Kendal bus station and heads generally NW, initially steeply over Kendal Fell then Cunswick Scar (a Wainwright Outlying Fell) and on past Ashes to meet the Dales Way after 6.4 miles. The Way is followed generally W over a series of 200 ft undulations to the flanks of Grandsire then is left at Pinethwaite, past High Barrow and Helm Farm to ascend Brant Fell (another Wainwright Outlying Fell). It's then a mile descent into Bowness pier.

The B walk, led by Gay, starts at Staveley and follows the Dales Way to Bowness, with a detour over School Knott (a Wainwright Outlying Fell).

The C walk, led by Brian, is a circular from Bowness starting NE along the A5074 to cross over the A591 and on to the high point of the walk, Orrest Head. Continuing N the route turns W along a single track road to join the A592 SSW, across the A591 and, with a few detours, back  to the starting point.
