All walks are circular from Baslow car park.
The A walk, led by Jim, heads east through Chatsworth Park to Robin Hood then north past Nelson's Monument to Sheffield Rd. Turning west we go to Wellington's Monument then north along Baslow, Curbar & Froggatt Edges. Crossing over the A625 we drop down west through Hay Wood to Grindleford then follow the River Derwent south back to Baslow. This is a repeat of the Apr 2016 route which took just over 6 hours.

The B walk, led by Steve, starts in Baslow and heads uphill north-west for about 1.25 miles – some strenuous and some less so. At the top of the hill there is the opportunity for a short detour to see the Wellington monument (only 0.16 mile there and back). We then turn north past the Eagle Stone towards Cubar Edge and Froggatt Edge and then downhill through woods to Grindleford. A planned stop here at the station café where there are picnic tables outside and hot drinks available hopefully. We then continue downhill towards the main village of Grindleford, turning left just before it crosses the river. Then on the Derwent Valley walk through Froggatt and Calver back to Baslow. This is a shorter version of the A route which it joins at the Wellington Monument so many of the photos of the Apr 2016 walk above are on it. It is also the 2016 B walk.

The C walk, led by Dr Chris, starts south along the edge of the estate. After passing Queen Mary's Tower we cross the bridge and ascend to Edensor village. The route goes past the church before going left and up many steps (with handrails) to cross fields. Just before entering New Piece Wood it is worth turning around to see the magnificent view of the house and park. The route then descends along a track and lane to Carlton Lees. Then it's back along the river to the bridge and through the park to Baslow.
