The A walk, led by Jim, is Blencathra via Sharp Edge from Scales Farm (if conditions allow, otherwise via Scales Tarn). This grade 1 scramble is the most technically difficult route up Blancathra and requires a head for heights over a roof-like ridge with considerable exposure. From the summit the route continues NW to Mungrisdale Common then W to pick up the Cumbria Way heading S to Latrigg car park. Keeping to the E of Latrigg, the route continues S to the Railway Trail which leads to Keswick.
