CURRICULUM

At Free Range, we don't follow a formal curriculum. Most of the learning we do is play based and child-led during free play. I am mindful to rotate toys, sensory experiences, loose parts, and visual materials in the playroom when the children indicate it's time for something new. 

Activities

Each day I will offer optional small and large group activities for children during free play time. I base the focus and activities on what children are interested in or curious about and may be based on seasonal changes.

Activity Offerings

All activities will be completely optional for children to participate in. I will offer a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities and experiences. 

Large Group

We will have a daily story time and large group song, dance, game, or other activity. Children can choose to join or work on their own activity.

Small Group 

During indoor and outdoor free play, I will offer art, sensory, math, science, early literacy, and craft activities. 

Examples of small group activities:

painting/drawing

color mixing with water

ice exploration

mud painting

flower pressing

water play

animal track identification
