If you take off the wallpaper, use a paper tiger to score the old paper. Spray the wallpaper with 1/2 and 1/2 Downey Fabric softener and water. Let sit for approximately 1-15 minutes use a plastic scraper and the paper will come right off.

We live in a very old house and there's wallpaper under almost all the walls. If the paper is in decent condition and the seams aren't coming up, you should have no trouble painting it. But I usually recommend a flat wall paint that will hide any imperfections.

Hi Christine: I'd paint over it, but first I'd fill in any holes and sand down any lumps. You will still have the ridges that are there in the paneling, however. If it is, indeed, wallpaper, you can remove it before painting.

Especially if your mobile device can find your computer but fails to connect to it, it's almost definitely caused by a firewall on your computer. When you first launch Wallpaper Engine, it will prompt you to grant it permission to your network. If you closed this window or did not specifically allow ui32.exe to communicate with your network, the Windows firewall will block Wallpaper Engine. Make sure to allow ui32.exe to communicate as shown in this screenshot:

Should you be able unable to fix the connection between your computer and your mobile device, you can still manually transfer your wallpapers onto your mobile device. First, select the wallpapers you want to export in Wallpaper Engine, then right-click on them and select Send to Mobile Device, followed by clicking on Export .mpkg.

Once Wallpaper Engine has created the .mpkg files for your wallpapers, you can either transfer them to your mobile device by moving the files onto your mobile device via USB or by copying the files onto an SD card. Alternatively you can also use any file sharing service on your mobile device or send them to yourself via a messaging service or even via email (if the file size is not a problem).

Once the files are on your mobile device, open up Wallpaper Engine on your mobile device and use the Import File functionality to directly import the .mpkg files into the app by selecting them from the directory that you have placed them in.

It is important that you place the .mpkg files in the Downloads folder on the mobile device. Android is very restrictive when it comes to letting apps access files. If you cannot find or open the .mpkg files on your device, try placing them in another directory, usually the Downloads folder is the most reliable choice for this.

There are too many smart phones and sizes, I have to create a lock screen for a client but dont know what size I should be designing, is there a standard size that applies to all? instead of creating separate sizes for different phones. Since wallpaper can be adjusted, wouldn't one large size fit all?

Windows users: Click the wallpaper size you wish to download, then right-click the graphic and select "Save image as...". Once you've saved the image to your computer and located it, right-click the file and choose "Set as desktop background."

Mac OS X users: Click the wallpaper size you wish to download, then right-click the graphic and select "Save Image As...". Once you've saved the image to your computer and located it, right-click the file and choose "Set Desktop Picture." This option will appear within the "Services" menu option after you right-click the file."

You can personalise your device by setting your own wallpaper. Your device includes a selection of wallpapers to choose from, or you can use one of the photos or videos you've taken or downloaded. On some devices you can even choose to set a wallpaper that changes each time you use your device.

Please note: If you would like to use a wallpaper or image from the internet, you will first need to download it onto your device. You can usually do this by pressing and holding the image until you get a pop-up with the option Save Photo or Save Image. The image will then be saved in the Downloads folder in the Gallery.

Please note: The steps described below explain how to set your wallpaper if your device is running Android 10. If your device is running a previous version of Android, the steps may be different.

Using your mobile device, click on any of the links below. Once your selected image is open, click on the photo to save it to your phone. With the photo saved to your phone you will be able to set it as your wallpaper.

Show your pride in the G with these wallpapers for your desktop and phone. Click on the link with the size you desire and it will open the image. Right click to download the image to your device. Then follow device instructions for setting background image.

I'm not sure if it's the same on older systems, but on ICS it appears to save directly to /data/data/com.android.settings/files/wallpaper. I set mine from the browser, pulled that file, then changed it to a .png extension and voil - it was the image I had set.

I was annoyed by the exact same problem, so I have programmed an app that automatically saves your wallpapers and your live wallpapers too. It makes it easy to revert to a previous wallpaper. It is called Wallpaper Saver, by Appdictive, and it's free in the Play Store. (It does not require root access.)

The location of the stock wallpapers is in an apk file that you should find on your device at /system/framework/framework-res.apk. Pull that file to your computer and then browse its internals. A search for a file with wallpaper in its name should prove fruitful.

I woke up this morning to see my wallpaper and lockscreen were a picture of weird shapes with numbers in them. I saw I needed a phone update so I did that and changed photo back to what I had but it then changed to another random pic half hour later.

Hi @Mrinternational, do you have 'Wallpaper services' enabled on your phone? You can check this by heading to Settings > Wallpaper and style > Browse my wallpapers > Wallpaper services > Set this to 'None' to disable it.

@LinRGreenwood: Are the wallpapers that appear taken from the Gallery, or are they random? If they are Gallery images, please try heading to Settings > Wallpaper and style > Change wallpapers > Gallery, and check the 'Selected items' section at the top to see if multiple images have been selected. If they have, tap on the thumbnail of any images you'd like to exclude, leaving your preferred choices in place. Alternatively, if the 'Selected items' section is blank, choose a photo to create a wallpaper, and check to see if this resolves your issue.

In my case I noticed it will do so at times but for me it happens because for example il set a video wallpaper thru a 3rd party app (zedge)(awesome selection not just wallpaper) but the previous one will be selected directly through the phones wallpaper manager. And for some reason it will decide to stop the zedge video wallpaper and go back to either default or the one i selected just not thru zedge

I just updated my iPhone 11 to iOS 16.2 and now my lock screen is displaying just a black screen with the time, flashlight, and camera icons. I restarted the phone and verified that Settings/Wallpaper is set to select the wallpaper image that I have been using for years. After restarting the iPhone, the correct wallpaper was displayed but the next time the display went to sleep, it was again just showing the black background image.

I am experiencing all the same things already mentioned, but in my case, it may (or may not) be related to Do Not Disturb. I do not use Bedtime to schedule DND, but rather simply have it scheduled as DND: On from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., off from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Has worked for years until upgrading from 15.7 to 16.1 on Friday. I had also created wallpaper for lock screen/home screen, and edited from chunky font for time display to thinner, obviously selecting the latter for use. (Kept the orginal unwanted set just in case, as it would be easier to simply modify than going back to wallpaper and starting over in the event it disappeared.

DND malfunctioned immediately following upgrade. It goes on (and, although doesn't always give you the quick notification at the bottom of the home screen, the crescent is displayed above) but often does NOT go off! While on, apparently it chooses to black out the wallpaper selection, which I hate, but this morning, for the first time, it disabled itself on schedule. However - it also immediately switched from my selected wallpaper set in focus to the original chunky font set! It has swapped sets at other times while working on this issue, but unfortunately, I can't be specific - particularly since I didn't realize that was what was occuring. I thought initially that it was simply changing the font.

I believe there is an interplay between DND, wallpaper (as seen in Focus), etc., and am pursuing, although now that it's reaching the engineering level, that usually ends anything productive. I'm glad to have found this discussion, and hope others will continue to post so we might be able to figure it out without the assistance we know won't be forthcoming. 0852c4b9a8
