Media Player Classic - Home Cinema also has several advanced features not found in most common media players. Afraid I'm not as grateful. For whatever reason, after Malwarebytes flushed my MPC, I'm no longer able to choose it as a default player, despite re-installing it. I can't manually SELECT it and have the choice persist. I'm using Win7pro-64bit and have installed the latest version of MPC. MWB no longer complains, but whatever trickery it did, has left me with a broken system. Any pointers would be appreciated.

How-To: Associate the file-type "AudioCD" with mplayerc.exe. But the filter (codec?) CLAudioCD.ax seems still to be needed. Maybe it's not possible that MPC uses the same filter like the Win98SE-internal cdplayer.exe?!

Media Player Classic (MPC), Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC), and Media Player Classic - Black Edition (MPC-BE) are a family of free and open-source, compact, lightweight, and customizable media players for 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows. The original MPC, along with the MPC-HC fork, mimic the simplistic look and feel of Windows Media Player 6.4, but provide most options and features available in modern media players. Variations of the original MPC and its forks are standard media players in the K-Lite Codec Pack and the Combined Community Codec Pack.

MPC-HC updates the original player and adds many useful functionalities including the option to remove tearing, additional video decoders (in particular H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2 with DirectX Video Acceleration support), Enhanced Video Renderer support, and multiple bug fixes. There is also a 64 bit-version of Media Player Classic - Home Cinema for the various Windows x64 platforms. MPC-HC requires at least Windows XP Service Pack 3.

As of version 1.4.2499.0, MPC-HC implemented color management support, an uncommon feature that nearly all video players on Microsoft Windows lack.[11] Windows 8 support was introduced in version 1.6.5.[12] Beginning with version 1.6.6 the stable releases are signed.[13]

Media Player Classic - Black Edition (MPC-BE) is a fork of MPC and MPC-HC. It moved away from MPC's aim to mimic the look and feel of Windows Media Player with updated player controls and provides additional features on top of MPC-HC such as a video preview tooltip when hovering the mouse cursor over the seek bar, as known from video platforms such as YouTube and Dailymotion, though many of these features, including the video preview on seekbar, were added to MPC-HC at a later date.[24][25]

In addition to DirectShow, MPC can also use the QuickTime, RealPlayer, and SHOUTcast codecs and filters (if installed on the computer) to play their native files.[35] Though some of these files may play without the external codecs or filters installed. Alternatively, QuickTime Alternative and Real Alternative can be used in place of their player installations for expanded support of their respective file formats.

I am developing an application which will act as a video player, but the videos embedded in my software will of be several different formats avi, mp4, flv etc ... and for that reason I do not want to use windows media player, I would like something more complete like media player classic, there are libraries of mpc? or similar?

Some notes:

* why not use MPC own "Favorites" feature?

- at least when I wrote this, selecting a favorite in MPC menu reloaded the video, even if the right one was playing. This caused a significant delay for big files / slow computer / slow drive

- the location of the video files is fixed, so you can't reuse bookmarks for different files

- showing only the bookmarks for a specific video is nice

- easy portability of the bookmarks, as this was used in different computers

* MPC Go To...

From what I can gather, the way MPC "Go To" input works is:

- it accepts up to 4 numbers. It discards the first zeroes, if there's any

 - so the input "0 0 0 1 2 3 4" is valid, as is "1 2", but not "1 2 3 4 5"

- the least significant number is always for milliseconds, the second is for seconds and so on

 - so "2 30" means "2 seconds 30 milliseconds", and "0 2 30 0" means "2 minutes 30 seconds"

- any charachers that are not numbers work as a separator

 - so "1 15 2 0" is the same as "1h15m2s0" and as "1hour 15minutes 2seconds 0millisecond"

 - the format used in the script is hh:mm:ss.msec

* possible improvements (I don't use this script anymore, so I don't plan to implement them):

- make it work with WMP, VLC, other players

- go to bookmark directly from gui

- better MPC control (relying on keystrokes is not very good, maybe use messages?)

- automatically update menu (currently you need to manually press the "generate" button)

- allow moving entries up/down in listview

- drag-and-drop file in gui to open bookmark list

- fix use in fullscreen (currently it takes the video out of fullscreen to show the menu)

- make a wrapper script that opens a video, loads its bookmarks and generates the menu, automatically

Someone here on forums said they can run it on MPC-BE, Media Player Classic - Black Edition video player, on PC. If you have RTX nVidia card on PC you should be able to install MPC-BE and use it to upscale videos in real time with this method.

MPC-BE (aka Media Player Classic - Black Edition) is a free and open-source video and audio player for Windows, based on the original Media Player Classic (MPC) project, but with additional features and bug fixes.

The issue occurs when a browser flap with the netlfix player stays open for a long time or the MPC HC player stays open for a long time. If one issue issue, the other will already be. For example, MPC HC is open a long time and the issue occurs, closing it and opening netflix in the browser, it will already be with the issue.

The Nikon Zf is a 24MP full-frame mirrorless camera with classic looks that brings significant improvements to Nikon's mid-price cameras. We just shot a sample reel to get a better feel for its video features and have added our impressions to the review.

If you have started using Media Player classic without any change then you are most probably using FFmpeg codecs. These are very good codecs and use libavcodec for most of the decoding. It decodes most formats however not all of them perfectly. Now that you have your new filter installed. 0852c4b9a8
