Zusammenfassung :
Cliff Secord ist Pilot im Suden Kaliforniens des Jahres 1938. Er glaubt vom Pech verfolgt zu sein, denn nicht genug, dass er seine neue Maschine schrottet und auf der Schadenssumme sitzen bliebt, wenig spater verliert er auch noch seine Freundin Jenny Blake. Doch dann macht er gemeinsam mit seinem Freund, dem Mechaniker Peevy, eine erstaunliche Entdeckung: Ein umschnallbares Raketentriebwerk. Nach einigen Fehlversuchen steigt Cliff als maskierter Rocketeer in die Lufte und hilft fortan den Menschen in der Umgebung von Los Angeles.
