Hi there, glad to welcome you to my website!
I am a Phi Kappa Phi graduate researcher in Politics and Policy Studies at Oklahoma State University. My work explores how race, affective polarization, and civic education shape political behavior, democratic engagement, and higher education opportunities.
My current research examines how emotional attachments drive Black voter turnout, trust in institutions, and political representation. I am also interested in examining the effects of mandated civic education policies on college access, youth political participation, and identity formation.
My master’s thesis uses a quasi-experimental design and quantitative methods such as difference-in-differences (DiD) to assess how mandated civic education policies affect youth voter registration across U.S. states and how its impact is distributed racially.Â
I aim to connect insights from political science and education policy to strengthen civic engagement, racial equality in politics, and higher education access among marginalized communities. As a first-generation college student, I am committed to mentorship, applied learning, and expanding political and educational literacy.Â
In my free time, I enjoy bowling, going on walks, cooking and trying new recipes, as well as talking to new people.
