Expert in 3D scanning

I am a research engineer at Unity Technologies, in Grenoble, France.

I work for 15 years to the improvement of scanning technologies, either for the simplification and automation of acquisition processes, for the quality improvement of the produced 3D models, or for the appearance acquisition in order to increase the realism of digital copies.

Expert in digitization with the cultural heritage as favoured application field, I have used different shape measurement technologies during my works, and I have a strong knowledge on the involved computer vision algorithms. I also acquired all along my career many competences in geometry processing, image processing, real-time rendering, texture synthesis and virtual reality.

Experience

December 2011 – October 2020 : research engineer at the ICube lab of the University of Strasbourg, in the Computer Graphics & Geometry group.
June 2010 – December 2011 : post-doctoral fellowship at the CNR ISTI Institute (Pisa, Italy) to join the 3D-COFORM project on the digitization of cultural heritage.
September 2009 – June 2010 : post-doctoral fellowship at the Fraunhofer IAIS Institute (Bonn, Germany) on a project of virtual exhibition of an art piece.
2009 : contract engineer job at the University of Strasbourg for the development of a software framework for the processing of scanned data.
2004 – 2008 : PhD. in Computer Science at the University of Strasbourg on the digitization of art pieces in terms of shape and appearance for the realistic rendering in image synthesis.

Achievements

For almost 10 years, I developped ExRealis, a software for the processing of digitized data, with which I conducted most of my research and development works at the University of Strasbourg.
I've been involved in various projects requiring my expertize in 3D scanning, leading to several on-site measurement campaigns for cultural heritage digitization.
Due to my general expertize in computer graphics, I've also been involved in projects related to other domains, like real-time rendering, texture synthesis and virtual reality.
