July 2025: 5 Stars - Thank you Franklins Place for a great place to stay at Bass Lake. We made some great summer memories. To quote the teenager in the family, "This place is DOPE!" Truly a great home. Thank you for sharing it with us.
July 2025: Had the best weekend with my family at Franklins Place Bass Lake!!!!!
June 2025: 10/10 Excellent -Beautiful home with plenty of space. This home is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. A lot of space inside as well as outside to get away from the chaos if needed. Private boat slip was a quick 5 minute walk from the house. Stayed 4 nights.

August 2024: Our stay at Franklin's Place was amazing! It was clean and spacious, with stunning lake views. We loved the dock in the morning and relaxing on the deck at night. It was a perfect getaway—I highly recommend it!
July 2024: We loved our stay here! The house is so neat with many things to do. We especially enjoyed the first floor with a pool table and access to the backyard with tether ball, cornhole, and more! The views of the lake on each floor are lovely! We stayed with our young children and they had such a great time exploring this special house. The walk to the marina was very short and there is easy access for swimming. Overall, we had an excellent stay!
June 2024: After many nights of hotel living on our family road trip, Franklin’s place was a welcome change of pace. Many great core family memories were created while using the temporary home-base on the lake. From family meals on the patio to playing one of the many games left for us to enjoy, Franklins Place’s lake house left little time spent without entertainment. The cherry on top was the proximity to Yosemite. Overall an amazing trip for our family that went so well we’ve already talked about planning the next one. Easy 5 star review.
April 2024: This place was a perfect getaway for our family! There were so many amenities, that even with rain, kids and adults were occupied! The lake view was stunning with snow on the top of the mountains one morning! Add the rainbow an hour later and it couldn’t be better!
March 2024: This home was top 3 of places I’ve stayed at. Perfectly placed where it’s not too far off the main road. Beautiful scenery of the mountains and lake. This home was spotless, my family and my friends enjoyed this so much. The hosts were great and responded very quickly. We had an amazing weekend filled with core memories for the kids and we absolutely love this home. The kids were hanging in the game room for most of the time and the adults were hanging in the living room and dining area. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much Franklins Retreat!! We appreciate you letting us rent this beautiful home!
January 2024: We loved our stay in Bass Lake! From the youngest (1 yr.) to the oldest (senior citizen), and everyone in between, it was clean, relaxing, and a great place to reconnect with family. The kitchen was well stocked and made cooking a breeze! So many games and outside activities to entertain the troops! Of course, it was also great just sitting in a chair or swing and taking in all the beauty. Thank you for a great space for multi-generations and interests! Family memories were made, and we will definitely be back!!

September 2023: We had a wonderful visit to Bass lake. The house was so well stocked with everything we needed. The view was stunning and access to the dock was wonderful for the day we rented the boat. We made use of the amazing selection of games on our rainy morning. We would definitely return!
August 2023: We had a wonderful relaxing weekend at Franklin’s Place. So many little extras to make you feel at home. A beautiful view of the lake and a great porch to drink your coffee or wine. We even had a family competition on the many games: corn hole, badminton, ping pong, and pool. Great time.
August 2023: We loved this cabin. It had tons of amenities. The boat slip and private launch area is a huge plus for us who bring out boat.Great location at the dam side of the lake. The cabin was very easy to relax in and everything worked. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

July 2023: Franklins Place was absolutely perfect for our annual family getaway. The views from the deck were amazing, the outdoor games were so fun, and the boat slip was an added plus. We docked our boat and went out on the lake daily. The beds were comfy too! We loved our stay at Franklins Bass Lake home, and look forward to visiting again.

June 2023 My family and I had a wonderful stay. The home is stocked with anything you could need and more. So many games our kids were never without something fun to do. We took full advantage of being able to walk to the lake. Hosts were super responsive and available for anything, will definitely stay again!

May 2023 The perfect lake house! Amazing views of the lake at every turn. The a/c units in the bedrooms are a great touch. I highly recommend this cabin for a great Bass Lake getaway.
May 2023 We had a great time at Franklins Place! The views of the lake from the house were amazing. It was incredibly peaceful to have coffee on the porch while looking out at the lake and trees.
The inside of the house was also beautiful! It’s clear that so much thought went into the home. I’ve stayed at Airbnbs where it was difficult to cook because of a lack of pots/pans/kitchen items: that was definitely not the case here.
The house also had a plethora of indoor and outdoor games. It was impossible to get bored at the home. Whether you’re visiting Bass Lake for peaceful getaway or an exciting trip with friends- I could not recommend this house more!
May 2023 Perfect family vacation rental. If you’re planning on bringing your boat with you this is an ideal rental. The use of the owners access to a private launch and dock made it a convenient experience. Although we spent most of our time on the lake, in the late afternoon and evenings we had a ton of family fun using the amenities at Franklin’s place including the pool table, corn hole, ping pong table. I got all around high fives from my family for choosing this rental.
April 2023: Stayed Fri-Sun with my two siblings, nephews/ nieces, mom and dad. Great stay. Home was amazingly beautiful. It was well stocked. I was looking forward having a pit fire to do s’mores for the kids. Little did I know fires were prohibited… what a bummer! But then I noticed the home had an electric s’mores maker, problem solved!!! When I say the home was fully stocked, I mean FULLY stocked. The owners thought of everything! I just wish I could’ve stayed longer. Great home … thank you again for making my stay amazing! Will definitely rebook and will also recommend.
April 2023: Franklin's Place was perfect for some much-needed family time. The lake view is prettier than pictures can show. We loved hanging out on the porch swing watching the sunset. The home is so cozy that it feels like you're visiting a relative. The bedroom on the main level is like a cave and I woke up so refreshed.
The 3 levels were perfect for anyone with lots of guests or if you need a break from everyone.😂
There were so many game choices that we didn't have time to them all, but we definitely tried.
It was a beautiful 20-minute drive to Yosemite where there's still enough snow on the ground to sled.
I highly recommend this home as a rental. My only regret is we didn't book more time there. Thank you much a great setting for our trip!
March 2023: A message from Franklin....Heavy snow fall this month. due to heavy snow storms, no power and roads often uncleared we did not host this month. Franklin and family did enjoy the time at the lake.

February 2023: Wonderful home. The home was fun, especially the game room where we had dinner and lots of fun. Many memories made, franklins place was perfect for our getaway. Definitely recommended.

November 2022 Amazing views, beautiful house, and tons of things to do at the house too. An easy 30 minute drive to Yosemite's South entrance. The lake was so peaceful and the town was chariming, with a stocked market for all your forgotten items. Everyone loved it here. We would definitely stay at Franklins Place again!

September 2022 We loved this house and took full advantage of the decks and game room! It was a crazy heat wave but the AC worked well. We grilled, we boated, we got the full Bass Lake experience. It was nice to stay in a place that felt so homey. Sometimes rental houses can feel so bare and corporate, but this felt like staying in a family cabin passed down through generations. We’d definitely stay again!
August 2022 My friends and I stayed at Franklins Place for a very chill bachelor weekend (during the summer); and it was exactly just that!
The cabin with its 3 floors comprised of bedrooms, couches, and dens, communal tables proved ample space for everyone; the wrap around porch had a great view of the lake, stargazing and barbecuing; “Dad’s den” was a great hang— pool table, a bar, and a bunch of backyard activities; and last but not least, the ease of access to the cabin-dock, and a key to the marina, basically across the street. Prior to even renting a pontoon, the access to the dock was plenty satisfying, to chill, jump off and cool down— add a pontoon rental with a designated space, basically walking distance from the cabin, and the entire day is even more thrilling. Local markets, restaurants, and entertainment are all within a quick 10-minute drive; made it easy to grab anything we forgot. Above all, because this home is used by the owners, it feels lived-in, cared-for, warm and inviting, and absolutely practical in all aspects, because it is often occupied. Given our short weekend and how much fun we had, the consensus was that a repeat was a must. All the best for future occupants and hope they enjoy it as much as we did.

August 2022 Great Family rental!! Dock was close and had no issues! The multiple decks with an incredible view! Pool/ bar was an adult favorite! The deck swing was a good touch to sit and enjoy the view! The beds were very comfortable and multiple AC units kept the house very comfortable. Will be rebooking!! 5 star all the way!

July 2022 This house exceeded our expectations. It looked beautiful but once we got there it was even more beautiful. The view of the lake Was amazing! So convenient to have the doc nearby as we have a large boat. The house was completely stocked with all you need and the space was perfect for our family this year. June 2022 Franklin’s place was a perfect lake house for our family. Our 3 kids (young teens) had a blast with all the outdoor games, pool table & raft/tubes. They have everything you could possibly need for a fun filled Bass Lake vacation. The house is in walking distance to a boat slip & a short drive into town. The kids loved the downstairs area & we appreciated a well stocked kitchen. Check in was a breeze. We can’t wait to return!

May 2022 "This is definitely THE SPOT! Loved waking up in the morning and having fresh coffee out on the balcony overlooking the lake! Not to mention the Bald Eagle Flying around, SO COOL. Aside from the amazing views, there were lots of fun family activities to do inside and out at this mountain vibe cabin. Not to mention there's a tetherball, way to take me way back to my elementary days. Perfect walking distance to the boat dock and such a nice neighborhood. Very homey and spacious! May 2022 Franklin's Place on Bass Lake exceeded our expectations! It was the perfect home-base for enjoying the local area and Yosemite. The house itself is beautiful and well-appointed. It easily accommodated our extended family for the weekend. The lake views and sunsets from the porch were spectacular. We can't wait to come back!
May 2022 This is a great house to host a large family or multiple groups! The three bedrooms three bathroom makes it ideal for a multi-family stay. The living room/kitchen/dining room is large and open which was great for socializing. The lake views from the balcony are exceptional and a great place for relaxation. The lake is conveniently located across the street and the boat dock is definitely a plus! The cabin was as advertised, it had all the needed amenities and more. We love that there were games in their home, a ping pong table, pool table and much more, our adults and kids thoroughly enjoyed the space. This cabin is overlooking the lake so there are many photo opportunities and the surrounding areas are beautiful. With the lake so close and Yosemite wishing a 15-20 min drive what's to to love! We really enjoyed our stay there and would be happy to come back next time.
May 2022 Franklins Place was the perfect home base for us. We ran the Yosemite Half Marathon, hided and enjoyed the sights in the Park and relaxed with boat rides on the lake and just sitting on the porch. Truly wonderful - thank you for sharing

February 2022 We loved the beautiful cabin. They had everything you need. The game room and pool table was a big bonus. Kids had a great time. The location is perfect and the cabin has a lovely view to the lake.
February 2022 It was a great experience. Location was perfect and everything was set up for us when we arrived. Loved the three levels as we have kids and was able to be quiet on our own level. We had forgotten our coffee and the place had some available for us. The bar/pool table area was awesome. Best hang out of the place. They had lots of games that were provided and made it so great we didn’t want to leave. Book your stay and you won’t be disappointed!

December 2021 Awesome place to stay
October 2021 Franklin’s place was exactly as described and so much nicer in person. Pictures don’t do it justice. The host was prompt in responding to questions. Check in was easy. The place was extremely clean, windows were spotless. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans and all the appliances you can think of (toaster, blender, coffee maker, waffle maker, griddle, etc). There were also some spices, cooking oils and coffee available. They had two refrigerators, one in the kitchen and the other in the den which had a bar complete with bar top and stools. The rooms were clean and there were lots of beds to accommodate a large group. There was an ample selection of board games. The ping pong table and pool table were a plus. Outside there was a tether ball which we had not played in years, it was so much fun! The lake was just a short walk across the street. Views were amazing on all three decks. Lots of seating areas in the patio with a gas bbq grill and two picnic tables. So many things to keep the family entertained. We had a great stay and will definitely book again.
