Welcome to the 2026-27 Franklin PTA Membership Drive! 

We are excited to have you join us in helping make this year the best one yet for our Franklin Falcons. With your volunteer time and financial generosity, the Franklin Elementary School PTA is able to sponsor activities and events for our students, families, teachers and staff. It also allows us to give back to the school through mini-grant applications. We cannot do all these things without your help! Please consider giving to PTA, either through Membership or Donation. 

What is PTA? 

PTA is a partnership between parents and educators whose goal is to enhance student learning and enrich the lives of students within the school. PTA also gives parents an opportunity to obtain knowledge and voice their opinions about what is happening in their school. 

What does PTA do? 

It is a common misconception all PTA does is organize fundraisers and class parties. While it is true that these are an integral part of our PTA, there are so many wonderful ways that our PTA contributes to the education of our students. 

Why Join PTA? 

There are so many reasons to join Franklin PTA. The number one reason to join PTA is to benefit YOUR child(ren). In doing so, you also help your school. Since there are so many benefits of joining PTA, it is impossible to list them all. 

Here are just a few: 

• Get Connected: There’s no better way to know what is happening at Franklin! 

• Networking: PTA functions offer opportunities to meet other parents and teachers. 

• Speak Up: PTA meetings are a forum for exchanging ideas. PTA meetings are the perfect time to speak up and make suggestions to help improve your school. By getting involved, you’ll be part of the solution helping to make positive changes. 

• Help your child succeed: PTA fosters parent involvement. Parent involvement has been proven to be the greatest predictor of student success! 

• Be a role model: Become a PTA member and demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education. 

What if I’m already over‐committed and have no extra time. How can I help? 

Signing up is not synonymous with volunteering! Just by joining the PTA, you’ve already taken a step to help both your child(ren) and your school. Although the PTA runs on volunteers, there are many ways to help that take very little time. Can you pick up a package of napkins and send them to school with your child for Teacher Appreciation Week? Helping out can be that easy!

Where does the money go? 

A single membership is an investment of $10.00. A portion of the dues go to the state and national PTA. The remainder of the funds goes DIRECTLY to help with programs at Franklin.  Below is a list of just a few ways the students at Franklin benefit from our PTA: 

• Additional learning resources in the classroom (teacher mini-grants)

• Field trips

• Classroom parties 

• Snacks during test weeks 

• Visits from children’s book authors 

• Field Day event 

• Carnival

• Movie Nights

• Skate Nights

• Teacher Appreciation Week

• Recess Supplies

• And much, much more!
