I am an Assistant Professor (Profesor/Investigador) in the Centro de Estudios Economicos at El Colegio de Mexico (ColMex). My research interests are international trade, macroeconomics, and public policy. I have primarily focused on how trade policy uncertainty affects the dynamics of exporters and importers.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University, as well as a master’s degree in Economics from the same institution, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Peru. I was also a pre-doctoral research fellow at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center, where I examined the impact of climate change on the decisions of the International Monetary Fund and its member governments.
Before coming to Boston, I worked at the Peruvian Ministry of Economy and Finance, where I analyzed and developed public policies that affected trade and other aspects of the Peruvian economy. I was also part of the Peruvian negotiation team for several free trade agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Pacific Alliance.
