Angers Market

On Saturday we will travel back to Anger to wander through the market, one of the most popular of the Loire Valley. It  is a feast for the senses. The mornings come alive with cheerful chatter and the fragrance of freshly baked bread. Tables overflow with local treasures—creamy goat cheeses from Anjou, ruby-red berries, handmade jams, fragrant herbs, and baskets brimming with flowers. Artisans proudly share their craft, offering a taste of their region’s soul. Strolling between stalls, guests of La Retraite can immerse themselves into the rhythm of French life, where every flavor tells a story.

You will have time to explore the market and have a lunch with local flavors. The market is within walking distance to local cafes, shops and a beautiful garden. 

The afternoon will be dedicated to our visit to Chateau de Angers before our journey back to Briottieres for a time to unwind and a sumptuous dinner. 

You may wish to pick up a few bottles of local wines to enjoy at the Château during your evenings.
