General Information

The village of Frampton Mansell is within the parish of Sapperton with Frampton Mansell, 1.5m west of Sapperton on the south side of the Frome valley and 1m south of Oakridge Lynch on the northern side. It has a population of around 200 with about 60 households in the main part of the village, together with a church, village hall and pub. Along the valley runs the disused Thames & Severn canal, now in a slow process of renovation, and the main train line from Paddington to Cheltenham. The railway viaduct is a well known feature and the occasional steam excursions along the valley are a train spotter's highlight.

St. Luke's Church

The church was built in 1843 by the then Lord Bathurst, in the Italian style. It has an unusual chancel with fine stone vaulting. All windows are of stained glass with five richly coloured windows depicting Christ flanked by Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. Further details.

There is a monthly church newsletter 'The Watershed', distributed to all households, which covers Coates, Sapperton with Frampton Mansell, Rodmarton and Tarlton.

Village Hall

The village hall is used for a range of village events and is available to hire for meetings and activities. There is a children's play area adjacent to the hall.
