Timelapse photography is a technique where the frequency at which frames are captured is much lower than that used to play the sequence. When played at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. This app provides you a simple, neat and efficient UI to make timelapse videos effortlessly. Have fun!
⏱️ Timelapse Features:
Frame Interval: The time interval between each captured frame. Range –> 0.1 second to 24 hours. It is the most important value for your timelapse recording.
->CUSTOM: The app gives predefined values for ease of use and also custom mode for advanced users. Custom implies users can choose their own values from a much larger range. HH:MM:SS means Hours:Minutes:Seconds, and in frame interval you can also choose a fraction (.x) of seconds for very small intervals like 0.1 – 0.9 seconds.
Video Duration: The required length (or duration) of the output video. Recording stops automatically when it reaches the set value, unless set to infinite. It is also shown in the centre while recorded length progresses from fraction of seconds (0.xx) to required value. Do not confuse it with the recording duration which can be very long in case of timelapse videos.
Speed Value: The rate at which you want the output content to be as compared to realtime. 2x means two times faster than real-time, 3x means three times faster and so on. Very handy feature and the only way you can record videos in 1x or 2x in this app. Sometimes using speed is more intuitive than frame interval so this can be used. It affects frame interval and other parameters accordingly.
->SCENE: We have picked out common use cases and suggested standard speeds for the same. You can move around the values a bit, but this helps you get a suggested speed without much trial and error.
📸 Camera Options:
Self Timer: The initial delay after which the recording starts. Useful for stabilising the device or preparing the scene.
Parameters: White balance settings, colour effects and exposure compensation. (*if supported)
Auto Exposure Lock (AE-L): If turned on, exposure is locked when recording starts to prevent flicker from lighting conditions. Really useful in timelapse.
White Balance Lock (WB-L): It locks the white balance once recording starts to prevent changing white balance. Quite useful in timelapse.
Flash Light: If flash is available it will be turned on in video or flashing on/off for each capture in image mode.
Focus: Select focus mode if auto focus mode available, fixed otherwise. Select based on scene dynamics.
->WIZARD: If you are not sure of the frame interval but know the recording duration and video duration expected, the wizard will calculate it for you.
->SWITCH CAMERA: If your device has multiple cameras you can use this to switch between them. Also note each camera has its own values for timelapse settings. Thus, profiling each as per your needs. Only main app settings will remain common among all cameras.
🎞️ High Quality (HQ) Options:
Capture: In dropdown menu select video to record only MP4 file. Select images to capture JPEG files taken as true high quality image capture. Video recording is as close as possible to frame interval (depends on device) but images are captured precisely at mentioned intervals like an intervalometer. Note: Image mode can only capture as fast as a device camera can. Both video and images are also supported together.
Rotation: Orientation for output video or images based on user choice. Supports portrait and landscape both.
Video Size: The height and width of the output recording video. Higher resolution leads to a better quality but takes more storage space.
Image Size: The height and width of the captured images. Higher is better. Each JPEG file is stored separately thus makes for a good backup for professional captures.
->ADVANCED:
Video Optimise & Stabilise: It sets the camera in video mode for optimised recording, making video capture faster. And if the camera lens supports video stabilisation it also is enabled.
Video Frame Rate: The playback speed of the output video. 30 fps is optimal and results in fluid videos. The feature might not work on all devices so using default value is recommended.
Video Bitrate: Set the bitrate in kbps for output video, higher is better but takes more storage.
Image JPEG Quality: Set the quality for JPEG images, higher is better but takes more storage.
Image Embed Timestamp: Add timestamp on images captured. Videos remain unaffected, writes date and time to all captured images.
Image Show in Device Gallery: Enable to display images in gallery, disable to keep private in Framelapse2 folder only.
⚙️ Settings Icon:
Screen Lock Icon: When a recording is started, instead of settings icon a LOCK screen icon will appear. Press this to turn the screen black and on most smartphone displays it is like turning the screen off to save battery.
Camera Grid: 3x3 grid in viewfinder for symmetrical view alignment.
Shutter Sound: For frame interval above 1 second, shutter sound can be played. Please note, some devices might always force play shutter sound.
Remote Shutter: Use volume key up or down button to start or stop recording. Most bluetooth remotes use this to act as remote shutters, so control recordings without touching the screen to avoid any disturbance to recordings.
Ultra View: View summary of device info like free space, battery and clock. Also displays current recording specifications like video or image resolution, along with auto exposure lock (AE-L) or white balance lock (WB-L). Helps to see overview in a single glance.
Storage: Select the path to store content made by Framelapse2. If SD Card is added, app will detect it automatically and show it in custom field. Always test recording on change of directory.
Theme: Select a colourful theme of your choice out of over 20 options for this app.

Compatibility Mode (Only If Needed): Only visible on certain devices, enable only if facing any issues with video recording. Preferably keep it disabled.
Ignore Notifications: Continue recording even if a notification arrives. It is a preventative measure, avoid notifications as much as possible.
Show Information: You can view all chosen values for time-lapse video on the top right section of the app.
Reset App: This will reset the app like a fresh install. All recorded content remains safe.
->PREMIUM: View in app purchase options and purchases already made.
