Facilities goals and objectives

Earth care goals in the management and care of church facilities are grouped into several different areas. The list below includes activities that the FPGH Earth care team has been promoting as indented bullets:

• Energy conservation

  • Using renewable energy (solar cell investigation and presentation)

  • Becoming carbon neutral (goal)

  • energy audit in 2022

• Heating/cooling

• Lighting

  • Using efficient LED lighting fixtures

  • Motion sensors on lights

• Heating water

• Renewable energy and alternative building methods

• Water conservation

• Recycling and waste management

• Reusing

  • Using ceramic cups and glass utensils for coffee hour and church social occasions

  • discouraging the use of disposable plastic water bottles

  • Fair trade coffee for coffee hour.
