Notes: There are a couple quick dropouts during the prologue and What If?, and the first half of act one is a bit shaky, but it’s much better as the show goes on. There is one head that obstructs a small portion of the front of the stage, but it never blocks more than the actors’ feet and it’s rarely noticeable overall. There is no washout, and the sound is excellent as usual. It’s filmed in 16:9 with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

Notes: Fantastic and powerful performances from the whole cast. This is as nicely captured as can be expected from this show. There are several set pieces that obstruct the view of the action in certain places. There are about fourteen minutes of blackouts: most of the first seven minutes of act one, one and a half minutes of The Private and Intimate Life of the House, one minute of The Ball, three minutes of Balaga, one minute of The Abduction, and a couple other quick dropouts. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent

Notes: A nice capture from the front orchestra, that results in some great close ups! This DVD gives you a perspective that most Newsies captures’ cannot. Zachary Sayle and Morgan Keene are huge standouts and gave fantastic performances. The action is followed nicely given the proximity to the stage, but some pieces of action have the focus delayed or are missed, as you can probably assume, dance numbers are hard to follow this close to the stage. Chaz gave a very funny BCEFA speech that is included (audio only). This capture is more wobbly than the (3/17) performance given where it was filmed in the theatre, near perfect audio that is synced with my Zoom H2

There were 3 kids sitting next to me that you can hear talking in that audio and video. There is some washout and a few drop outs also wander upwards at points. Overall it looks decent.

Notes: Starts at the beginning of "I Just Wanna" and missing part of "Mattie's Lament." The theater was really full tonight so there are a good amount of heads in this video, but they are worked around to the best of my ability. This is a super small theater (less than 160 seats) and at times the cast members were definitely singing to the camera and honestly giving their best performances because of it. All of the things on the upper level (the bathroom, the pathway, and the kitchen) are captured perfectly, and the zooms on the lower level (the living room and bench) look good as well. Obviously because this is a murder mystery kind of show the lighting can get a little bit dark, but my camera handles low lighting incredibly well. This is honestly the best video you could expect from this venue.

Very well captured with no dropouts, no obstruction, and no washout. The stage is filmed directly most of the time; the screens are occasionally filmed, usually when the actors are not onstage. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.
