William's "boots on the ground"

In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, it's easy to get caught up in the noise. But as followers of God, our hearts and minds need to be fixed on His mission: serving the least amongst us.

Crown Innovation Centre, Cape Town

In January, we had the privilege of participating in the first 5-day training at the Crown Innovation Centre. Four trainers (I, Maq, Andile and Johan) from four different nations came together to share Foundations for Farming and the African Money Map training with community leaders from Wellington. The feedback was overwhelming – these tools are exactly what they need to serve the poor in their community! An open day was held, and about 60 delegates heard about the vision of the Crown Innovation Centre. The crops on the compacted plots showcased God's wonderful ways of getting communities out of poverty.

Northern Uganda

I, along with Maq, spent three weeks in February serving Palladium's CSJ Project. We trained 12 communities, planted 12 gardens, and shared Foundations for Farming with schools, community centres, and refugee camps. The response was incredible – district leaders and refugees alike are embracing Pfumvudza as a solution to sustainable food security. The refugees who applied the principles to life last season were a testimony as many were able to see their fields and their harvest which stood above the rest in their communities. This has brought hope and self-worth to those once despised. We were told to share the Foundations for Farming heart and vision fully even with Muslims in most of the trainings.
