I grew up loving music. I have been singing since about the time I could talk, and I have spent the last 13 years making sure my students feel that same love alongside the skills to back it up.
I graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music and a minor in Education. I started my teaching career at Parkside Middle School in Wautoma before joining a High School in the Fox Valley, where I now serve as Head of the Music Department. Over the years I have taught choir from fifth grade through high school, general music, and music theory. I currently direct a show choir, a vocal jazz ensemble, and serve as advisor to a student-led a cappella group that competes annually at the ICHSA quarterfinals. I have directed six musicals, served as music director for five more, and assistant directed two others. My choirs and performing groups have earned recognition at workshops, clinics, and festivals across the region, and have performed in New York City, at the Weidner Center in Green Bay, and on the Fox Cities PAC stage. In 2026 I was named a finalist for the Fox Cities PAC Influential Theatre Educator of the Year.
Private lessons have been part of my teaching from the very beginning. I have coached students for college auditions, musical theatre auditions, honors choir, and solo and ensemble festivals at the district and state level. Many have gone on to careers in music education, professional theatre, and performance, including one student who was the runner-up at the Fox Cities PAC Center Stage Awards and went on to perform at the Jimmy's in New York City. I am an active member of the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association, the American Choral Directors Association, and the National Association for Music Education.
What I care about most is the individual student sitting across from me. I work with students of all ages and all experience levels, from young beginners finding their voice for the first time to adults who have always wanted to sing and finally decided to go for it. Whether you are a high schooler preparing for a college audition, a community theatre performer looking to sharpen your skills, or someone who simply loves music and wants to see what you are capable of, there is a place for you here. I tailor every lesson to the person in front of me and hold my students to high standards while making sure they always feel safe enough to take risks and make mistakes. That combination of high expectations and genuine support is where real growth happens.
If you have a drive to improve and a love of making music, I would love to work with you.
