The Friends of Fort Trumbull announce their 2024 Monthly Program Series. For 2024, we have decided to focus on the greater neighborhood of the Fort. New London is the home of many organizations that contribute to the quality of life of people not only in New London but also in the surrounding towns.
This year’s program includes Museums, the Arts, and Governmental organizations. These communities create an atmosphere that benefits everyone. Don’t miss any of these interesting presentations which focus on those who play a role in improving our day-to-day lives.
The Public is welcome to attend. Find speaker information at the Speaker Bios page.

The Friends of Fort Trumbull are pleased to announce the resumption of their well-received Speaker’s Program. Because of Covid, the Speaker’s Program has not been held for the last three years. However, a short program has now been planned for 2023, with a longer program to follow in 2024.
The first speaker, Dr. Cathy Ann Clark, on Sept. 28, 2023, will speak on Fort Trumbull Past- focusing on the History of the Fort and the History of the Underwater Sound Lab, which for many years was located at the Fort.
Dr. Clark has a B.S. in Mathematics, an M.S. in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. She was an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at the University of Rhode Island, the Community College of Rhode Island and the University of Massachusetts.
For many years she worked as a scientist at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island.
The public is welcome to attend this free presentation, at 7 p.m., at the Fort Trumbull Conference Center. New members are always welcome. Come early as seating is limited. Bring a friend, stay for refreshments, and get to know us.
On Oct. 26, 2023 New London Mayor, Michael Passero, will speak on New London Present. He will discuss the many new projects now being developed and planned for the Fort Trumbull Peninsula. Mr. Passero has served as Mayor of the City of New London since December 7, 2015. He previously served three terms, from 2009-2015, on the New London City Council, including serving as the first City Council President from 2011-2013.
