Reno Praying With Me
Animal Abuse And The Strongest Scripture I Have Found In the Entire "Word Of God" Against Such Astrocity
Genesis 49:6 "...for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they 'digged [hamstring] down a wall [oxen].'"
In other words, the cutting of tendons or muscles on the back legs of an animal and then leaving the helpless creature to die.
The killing of an innocent man and the maiming of an innocent animal, which in this kind of abuse always leads to death.
Backing up to Genesis 49:5 which says, "Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations."
Two of Jacobs sons, one of which lost all of his inheritance, and the other who lost half of his inheritance, due to the killing of an innocent man and the unjust cruelty to an animal.
Jacob had been a shepherd who knew what good stewardship was when it came to a flock of sheep. And he didn't take kindly to what these two sons did.
I have always wondered why the animal kingdom always seemed to go through the same trials and tribulations and the same blessing and cursing that man went through. And also in this particular passage of Scripture I wondered what the killing of an innocent man had to do with the abuse of an innocent animal.
Perhaps both occurrences fall under the category of "evil."
In the Old Testament when a man was blessed his animals would be blessed. When a man was cursed his animals would be cursed. The animals were created on the same day as man. God made a covenant with Noah and his family after the Ark landed and the animals were also involved in that covenant.
Many other instances throughout the Holy Bible spoke of man and animals having that certain bond that many people take for granted these days.
Had Noah not obeyed God's Word about being a good steward to the animal kingdom then the animal world would be extinct. And "no" there was not any possibility of a new animal kingdom being created by God because those animals would be under a new covenant and not under the original fall of the world and its creatures.
So next time remember to put to death the animals according to the guidelines of God. Like all of humanity, the animal kingdom also belongs to the Creator...the animal kingdom being given as a gift to mankind.

The Cross Above Fort Catamo
Constructed this cross in the early stages of Fort Catamo and attached it to the front top entrance. The single diamond at the top portion of the cross represents "Single" yet "Three--In--One." Recently the Cross was destroyed by a fallen tree during a windstorm.

Will Animals Be In Heaven?
Eight human souls were saved on Noah's Ark and animals of every kind. But truth is, we can speculate on this issue but the Holy Bible is silent for the most part concerning this matter. And we may never know for sure with 100% certainty if animals will be in heaven until we ourselves reach the "Other Side." We can only put our trust in God for everything belongs to Him---all things living and non-living are His property.
The Cross I Bear At Fort Catamo
In light of all the things that have happened at this place over the years, a few people have referred to Fort Catamo as a ministry of some sort. However, I refuse to call Fort Catamo a ministry.
What is it about this place that would make one think that Fort Catamo is a ministry? I don't claim to be no preacher. I don't claim to be no pastor. I don't claim to be no teacher. I don't claim to be an angelic messenger.
I prefer only to be called a witness and a servant---witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a servant to not only the Lord but a servant to the people I meet here at Fort Catamo and those I meet out of the city streets.
To take to the streets, which may mean passing out a New Testament to a police officer and then praying alongside their patrol vehicle for not only the protection of the officer but for the well-being of his or her family and loved ones. To take to the city streets, which may mean to give a few dollars to a homeless man or woman or to a needy person confined to a wheelchair. To take to the city streets, which may mean to invite a handicapped person to accompany me to a restaurant and sit at a table as I furnish them with a meal. To take to the city streets, which may mean to hand out a New Testament, to share a comforting prayer, and give a few dollars to a vagrant who is destitute and camping out under and overpass. To take to the city streets, which may mean to stop in at one of the local hospital chapels in order to pray for my children, friends, or maybe even pray for an elderly woman who is shedding tears for her husband who is battling cancer or another dreadful disease.
All these occurrences are not only things which have actually taken place in real life but all these events have one thing in common. And that is, that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life---something which took me until I was nearly 33 years of age before I realized or came to the knowledge of the truth. On that day I was drawn into a jewelry as I walked in off the city streets to confess my need for a Saviour---Jesus Christ.
I wasn't in a church, I heard no preaching that day, no spiritual music that caused me chill bumps to answer and altar call to pray for my salvation with others. Just a knowing that the Lord was real and that He was the only One Who could fill this emptiness inside of me---a meaningless life that I had lived in vain for nearly 33 years of my life---a meaningless life that I had lived as if I was the captain of my own soul.
But thank God for the owner of that jewelry store who had knocked on the door of my residence more than once to attempt to share the Lord Jesus Christ with me which I rejected each and every time up until the morning I entered his placIe of business with tears streaming down my face and cried, "I need Jesus...can you help me find Him?"
The man stopped working on the piece of jewelry he was holding and put it down and picked up a Holy Bible, opened it, and a moment later my heart was apprehended by the Lord Jesus Christ.
I never forgot that day. And I never forgot that man either. I had always discerned the Lord Jesus in that man's heart even long before I was a believer in Christ. I sensed it and now I was a part of God's family.
I also remember writing August 9th, 1986 on the opening page of a Holy Bible that a former girlfriend had given me 10 years earlier---a Holy Bible I had never opened until the day I was "Born Again" into the kingdom of God.
So in effect, if Fort Catamo is a ministry in some mysterious way, then it is only what it is by the grace of God. God can use humans, animals, birds, creatures of the sea, or whatever He choses to carry out His plans and purposes as is witnessed over and over throughout the Word of God.
God can even use a unlikely creature like me---a lowly lamb biding his time at a place called Fort Catamo. But also a lowly and highly grateful lamb to be among the rest of the flock of sheep grazing in the heavenly pasture as the "Good Shepherd" watches over and protects His own with the nurture and love found nowhere else.
