What is a Formal Banquet?
We fashioned this event for Homeschooled, Home Educated, Private Schooled, and Christian teens who may not otherwise have organized formal events to attend.
A formal banquet is a large, organized meal. The meal will have arranged seating and multiple courses. Formal dress is required, see the dress code. There will be a predetermined menu that will be posted. There will be professional photographers onsite taking event and group photos. The event will include a social time before and after the event including post dinner activities.
What other Activities are included?
All Formal Banquets include plenty of social time for you and your friends, a fabulous dinner and Professional photos onsite to capture you looking fabulous and having fun with your friends! Each event is different and may include post dinner activities that may include changing out of your formal dress to play games or do other activities.
What will be served for dinner?
The event staff will post a menu of the dinner prior to the event. Food safety standards will be strictly observed. All food allergies must be clearly communicated to the event staff at the time of registering for the event. There will not be any options for substitutions of any food items outside of food allergies.
Will there be a Vegetarian, Vegan, or Gluten Free options?
Yes, please make sure to specify this at the time of registration.
Who is available to participate in the event?
Each host event location determines the appropriate age for their event. See the individual event description and registration, for age limits. Only people who have properly registered for the event, event volunteers, and event staff are allowed to attend the event.
Are parents and family members allowed to attend?
Your event may allow for family members to attend the event, however each member attending would be required to complete a registration, including agreeing to the code of conduct, dress code, and paying any fee (if applicable). Family Members are asked to Volenteer for the event
What sort of Volunteer options are there?
Volunteers are required to make this event a success. Areas to volunteer may include; Decorating, Food Service, food prep, check-in, chaperones, clean-up, security, and many other options may be available. See volunteer sign-up for complete information.
Is there event security and supervision?
There are volunteer positions for the front door check-in stations, as well as roving event chaperones. Please see the volunteer Registration. Prior to each event, event staff will discuss and create a standard operation process (SOP) to address additional safety concerns for the event. Examples include restricting certain areas of the event location, removal of disruptive or unwanted people, and verifying registered attendees and volunteers. Event staff reserves the right to remove anyone for any reason during the event, without issuing a refund. Event staff reserves the right to search any personal property, bags, or purses brought onto the property for the event.
If someone is causing a disturbance or breaking the dress code or code of conduct, how will that be handled?
In all situations, the problematic behaviors should be brought to the attention of the event staff. Event volunteers/guests should not attempt to enforce the dress code or code of conduct. Event staff will attempt to discreetly address the issue, reinforce proper behaviors, and return the offending person to the event, if possible. However if the behavior requires the individual to be removed from the event, they will be escorted off the property. Event staff will determine if parents or law enforcement will be required. In all cases of a student be removed from the event the “responsible party” on the event registration, will be notified.
What is the registration fees used for?
Fees collected are used for pay for venue, equipment rentals, food costs, decorations, photographer fees and any other event specific cost related to directly running this event.
What post event activities may there be?
Following the Dinner Banquet, the event may elect to have additional activities on site. While the code of conduct applies to the entire evening the dress code may be modified for the post event activities. Typical post event activities may include optional group game time, dance time, group activities, or a bonfire. See your event details for the full itinerary. Is there a dress code?
Yes please see the formal dress code. Post event activities may require you to change out of your formal clothes for activities or games.
What is the schedule for the event?
Each event varies. See the listed schedule of your specific event.
What items are prohibited?
Do not bring in any drinks of any kind. Other prohibited items include firearms, knives, and any other objects that could be used as weapons; Fireworks, flares, and other explosive materials; alcohol, and drugs or other substances that are illegal.
Can we bring our phones and take our own photos?
Yes. But remember this is a social event please limit your phone use to taking photos and communicating to people at the event or about the event. Please no gaming or watching of videos at the event. Be mindful of the professional photographers roaming around the event, there may be certain areas such as a photo booth that the photographers may limit access to taking personal photos.
Will we have to buy the professional photos?
Digital professional photos are included with the registration to this event. There is no requirement to purchase any photos at an extra charge. However some photographers may have options to purchase printed photos and photo packages. See the onsite photographer for more information.
Is there assigned seating?
Yes. Seats will be assigned for the dinner. Please submit a request to be seated next to certain friends. Event staff will try and accommodate all requests, but please understand that not every request is possible. Thank you for your understanding.
Can I invite a friend or a date to come with me?
Event staff will determine who is eligible to attend each event. If your guest is eligible to attend they will need to personally complete an event registration.
Can I sign up for and pay for my friends to attend the event?
No, Each person attending the event must individually sign up for the event. The registration process includes agreeing to the code of conduct and the dress code, so each person must do it individually. The payment can be made by anyone at the time of registration.
Am I required to participate in all the activities?
No. The formal banquet and all associated activities were carefully planned by your event team to encourage social interactions. Yet you may opt out of participating in any activity for any reason. However, keep in mind that for safety and security, the event staff, may require you to stay within the areas of the event and planned activities.
