Same-sex marriage is legal in New Zealand.
A hard copy application for a civil union must be completed, the link is below.
Anyone can apply online, whether you’re in New Zealand or not.
You do not need to be a New Zealand citizen. Visitors to New Zealand can marry here.
You need to arrange your licence at least 3 working days before your ceremony.
It expires after 3 months.
Only one of you needs to complete the application, but you need information about both of you.
You will need details about:
yourself
at least one of your parents
your partner's details, and
at least one of your partner’s parents’ details.
