Throughout the school year, the Dine & Donate Committee partners with local businesses to host fundraising events that directly support the school and PTA. Details for each event—including dates, times, locations, and the percentage of sales donated—will be shared through eNews and our social media channels. Past partners have included Jersey Mike’s, Moe’s, Your Pie, Cookies & Dreams, Peachwave, and more.
It’s an easy way to take a break from cooking on a busy weeknight, enjoy a meal with your family, and support the school at the same time!
Twice a year—once in the fall and again in the spring—the Sixth Grade Fundraiser Committee, alongside sixth grade students, hosts the beloved Donuts with Grown-ups event. Families are invited to enjoy a simple breakfast together at school, often timed to coincide with the Scholastic Book Fair for an extra-special visit.
Pre-registration forms are sent home in advance to help with planning, though walk-ins are always welcome to pay at the door. Proceeds from the event support the sixth grade class in purchasing a meaningful “legacy gift” for the school and help fund a celebratory end-of-year send-off party for students.
Fall Frenzy is our largest fundraiser of the year, typically generating more than $18,000 in support of our school—and it’s also one of our most anticipated family events. This high-energy evening is packed with festival-style games and prizes, concessions, a “Frenzy Mart” filled with candies and small treasures, a cake walk, and plenty of fun for all ages.
The event, typically held in September or October, also features a silent auction with incredible packages donated by local businesses, along with a raffle offering exciting prizes like AirPods, American Girl dolls, LEGO sets, scooters, bikes, and more.
Pre-registration information is sent home in advance to help with planning, but families are always welcome to pay at the door. It’s a fun-filled night you won’t want to miss—and a meaningful way to support our school community!
These events may vary from year to year. Past Family Fun Nights have included activities like Skate Night at Eldridge Roller Skate Park or the Landing Ice Skating Rink, as well as Movie Night in the school gymnasium. Whenever the budget permits, these events are offered free of charge for Forest Grove families.
The annual Glow Party is a highly anticipated, glow-in-the-dark celebration and a true student favorite! Held in the school cafeteria and gymnasium, the event features a live DJ, photo booth, face painting, vibrant decorations with black lights, and a Glow Mart offering glow-in-the-dark accessories and trinkets for purchase. Snack concessions are available (please note, dinner is not provided), and the night is filled with plenty of energy, excitement, and dancing.
Pre-registration information is sent home in advance to help with planning, but families are always welcome to pay at the door.
This event is only open to Forest Grove students grades K-6. One adult chaperone per family is required.
Kindergarten Round-Up is a welcoming event held each May for incoming kindergarten students and their families as they prepare for the upcoming school year. This event offers a chance to visit the school, meet the kindergarten teachers and staff, and become familiar with the building and daily routines.
During the event, students often participate in simple, engaging activities in the classroom while families receive important information about registration, school expectations, learn about and sign up for PTA volunteer opportunities, and more. It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions, connect with other families, and help children feel comfortable and excited about starting school in the fall.
The Scholastic Book Fair is an exciting event held twice each year—once per semester, typically during conference week. This special event brings a wonderful selection of books and educational materials directly to our school, making it easy and convenient for families to explore and purchase items that inspire a love of reading.
Proceeds from Scholastic Book Fair directly benefit our school by providing new books for classrooms and the library. It's also a great opportunity to connect with other families, discover what books are capturing students' imaginations, and foster excitement about reading together.

The Spring Program is a 1–2 hour musical event held in March or April, led by the school’s music teacher and supported by the Specials PTA Room Parent. Students from kindergarten through sixth grade perform multiple songs, with special guest appearances by the school’s orchestra and band.
To accommodate families, the program is presented twice—once in the morning and again in the afternoon. Families are invited to attend a designated performance based on last name, with details shared in advance through the weekly eNews.
Staff Appreciation is an ongoing effort to celebrate and thank all the professionals who make Forest Grove a wonderful place to learn and grow. Throughout the school year, the Staff Appreciation Committee organizes monthly events to show our school staff how valued and appreciated they are.
The committee coordinates a variety of thoughtful activities, including monthly themed food days, week-long celebrations during Teacher Appreciation Week, and dinners for teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences. These efforts help create a positive school culture and remind our dedicated educators and staff that their hard work doesn't go unnoticed.
All parents are welcome to contribute! Whether you can help with planning, donate items, or volunteer your time for specific events, your support makes a difference.
Unpack Your Backpack Night is a welcoming event held on a district designated evening before the school year begins. This special night gives students and families the opportunity to meet their teacher, explore their classroom, and see any updates to the school building—all before the first official day of school.
Families can take back-to-school pictures, help students get comfortable in their new learning space, and reconnect with friends and Forest Grove staff. In previous years, the event has featured fun additions like the official new playground unveiling, and a visit from the Kona Ice truck, making it a festive way to kick off the new school year.
For added convenience, a PTA meeting is held immediately following Unpack Your Backpack Night, allowing parents to connect with the PTA and learn about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities all in one evening. It's a perfect way to start the year feeling informed, connected, and excited about the months ahead!
**Please note that Kindergarten Unpack Your Backpack Night is separate and communicated via the district**
VIP Day, typically held in May, gives students the chance to invite a Very Important Person in their life to share in the Forest Grove experience during the final 1–2 hours of the school day. Guests join their student for classroom visits, specials rotations, and a tour of the building.
A release form is sent home in advance and must be completed and returned if the VIP plans to check their student out at the conclusion of the event.
