Mary Janes' "The Church by the Side of the Road" (2012) tells the story of Warwick United Church. From the beginnings of settlement in the 1830's through to the final service at the church in 2012, this book reveals the integral role played by centres of worship in rural communities in Southwestern Ontario. Isla Smith was a longtime resident of Wyoming, Ontario who did much to document its history in the three books she wrote about the "hub of Lambton County". In "A Dollar a Day" (2017) her granddaughter, Heather Sharpe, uses Isla's diary to take us back to life in the county in the 1920's. Centennial Books
Did you know that Forest has celebrated three centennials? Well we have! In 1959 we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of Forest, in 1972 we marked one hundred years since achieving village status and, in 1988, we marked a century since becoming a town. In honour of each centennial, special commemorative books were published ..... and the good news is that we still have copies of each for sale! Yours for $5 apiece. Now that's a bargain!

Local historian Paul Janes wrote and produced the feature-length documentary "Trees and Trains: Forest's First Century, 1859-1959" (2014). It provides a colourful and informative look at the town's history using numerous numerous images, most coming from the museum's collection.
