Model Railway

All aboard!

We are very excited with our latest endeavour! It is a plan to construct a model railway based upon Forest as it was in the 1940s/1950s, near the end of the steam locomotive era. This is a big undertaking, but we think it will well serve the museum's ongoing mission to preserve and promote the community's heritage. We are still in the early stages of our planning and are currently working on designs and, of course, contemplating how the necessary funds will be raised. In the meantime, as we figure this all out, if you would like to make a financial or material (i.e. HO scale train sets, building materials, etc.) donation to the cause it would be most appreciated. We also welcome you to join the group working on the project! All financial donations should be made to the Forest-Lambton Museum Society. Please visit our Donations page for details as to how to make your donation. There are plans to give recognition to those who donate. We are even thinking of inviting donors to sponsor the construction of various iconic buildings (the old train station, town hall, etc.). Stay tuned for more details on those plans. So, if you are "all aboard" with our model railway project, we'd be pleased to hear from you!Â
