Hi! Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I was born and raised in Mendocino County, Northern California, spending much of my childhood outdoors - camping, fishing, hiking, playing. Now, as a mom to three teenagers, I find the most joy taking my family out on adventures to explore a new trail or revisit the same trail to find new ways to interact with nature, hopefully passing on my love and respect for the natural world!
After some personal upheaval a few years ago, I found myself drawn to nature in ways I couldn't really explain. But, every time I found myself on a trail, surrounded by trees, I could sense the healing and wholeness I was experiencing. I knew it was something I wanted to offer and share with others who might also be looking for a sense of belonging and healing. I found and completed a training to become a Forest Therapy Guide and then went on to become a Certified California Naturalist through the UC Davis Hopland Research and Extension Center.
I've merged many of my favorite hobbies in ways that I'm able to dedicate time doing them all - trail running, backpacking, hiking, photography, and painting. I love capturing scenes from my time on the trails and then trying to find ways to translate those views onto a canvas with watercolors or acrylic paint. If you'd like to see some of my artwork, you can visit my artist site here.
