Dr Francis Murray
Began his 30-year career in management and R&D in the Scottish farmed salmon sector. He has since worked in commercial, development and academic capacities on a wide range of aquatic food systems across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. As a coordinator of two large-scale collaborative EU research projects (Sustaining Ethical Seafood Trade and PrimeFish) he has led research on the sustainability of international seafood trade in major commodity species (farmed and captured), seafood industry dynamics and competition strategy. He also provides quality assurance, standard development and benchmarking services as an independent expert to seafood certification schemes.
Mr Chris Copping
Is a consultant in the salmon and closely related industries. He has been involved in varied commercial activities throughout his 30-year career, right through to the RAS applications of today. He has formulated business development strategies for Scottish, Icelandic and Norwegian growers, held senior roles with major farmers and processors, and was a director of the industry’s generic marketing board. He is currently working with a leading seaweed producer, a manufacturer of alternative proteins, and a young company behind unique sensors for aquaculture and oceanographic water monitoring.
