The "Laboratory of Macroeconomic Policy and Forecasting" was established in 2025 at the Department of Economic and Regional Development of the School of Economics and Public Administration of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, on the initiative of Professor Stavros Degiannakis and operates in the form of a private law legal entity.
The Laboratory serves research and educational needs on the analysis of large volumes of data (big data), the modeling and forecasting of high and ultra-high frequency data, the analysis, modeling and forecasting of economic variables related to economic decision-making and economic policy-making, with the development and use of classic and advanced methods, including Block chain technology, machine learning, deep learning, data mining, artificial intelligence (A.I.), and other high-level technologies. Its activities include AI blockchain, blockchain validation, research and applications in biometrics and digital security. The culmination of analysis, modeling and prediction is the creation of applications (software - applications), fully aligned with the spirit of contribution that every university laboratory should promote, in terms of developing new knowledge and acquiring expertise in cutting-edge sectors such as the economy, climate change, health, tourism, transport, financial services and other similar areas.
