ASVAB ASSESSMENT

The ASVAB tests are designed to measure aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial. After you take your initial ASVAB, you must wait one calendar month to retake the test. You must wait an additional calendar month to retest a second time. After that, you must wait six calendar months to retake the ASVAB. Fordland students take the ASVAB strictly for career exploration purposes. By taking this test students are not signing up to join the military or giving their scores from this test to the military in any way. However, any students interested in the military will want to sign up to take the ASVAB.

What does the ASVAB measure?

  • The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery measures your knowledge and ability in ten different areas. It is not an IQ test, but the ASVAB does help the Army assess which jobs you are best suited to perform.

How can I practice for the ASVAB?
