The rise of artificial intelligence has changed how many people interact with the world at large. It's indisputable that it will bind itself to the human experience moving forwards whether we want it to or not. I also acknowledge there are many ethical concerns and considerations regarding this topic and urge any readers to research the impact that artificial intelligence has had on the worlds environment, economy, sociology and politics.
Regarding my channel, it's designed to inspire creativity and highlight the brilliant ideas that people can create. But, I take full accountability in my use of AI previously for the channel. For full disclosure, I have used AI in my Malformed Chimera and Demonic Sharman videos.
In each of these videos, AI was used in the synthesis of images, text and promotion. Elements of the description, title and script were influenced by AI but primarily written by myself. At the time, the concept of artificial intelligence was novel and I wished to explore it for myself and understand if it was something I had to in-cooperate moving forwards or ignore.
I am a firm believer in forming your own opinions of a topic based on experience, exposure or education and in this instance, it was no different. I wanted to use AI to see for myself what the hype was about. In doing so, I had learned valuable insight in the processes and practices commonly used by creators and could begin to identify for myself where AI may have been used.
"When everyone's super, no one will be..." Is a phrase that crossed my mind. While it's a technical marvel to see a string of text create an image loosely based on what you typed, it's unfortunately all too easy to indirectly destroy your own credibility in the process. I'm sure you've seen the low effort advertisements, t-shirts, engagement bait posts, short-form videos and so much more. To me, all this does is ruin the respect I may have once held for an individual or business. It shows how little they care, how little they wish to give and how much they value their own identity.
Ultimately, I have decided moving forwards to never use artificial intelligence unless the purpose of the content is to highlight an aspect of it. The irony of a channel pushing the notion of creativity whilst peddling AI is self-deprecating and destructive. If I can be the reason an unknown artist, developer or storyteller can become known, that's the greatest win for me.
In future, I aim to collaborate with more artists and highlight the brilliance of the human mind and what teamwork can create. I won't hide my use of AI in the past, I will embrace it as a learning experience and understand it was a necessary step to reach the position I am in currently. This isn't a statement to claim artificial intelligence is good or bad, or to influence your decisions of it. This is a statement of the use of AI on the channel moving forwards.
As such, moving forwards every video will feature the following statement:
"The use of AI has in no way, shape or form influence or assisted in the creation of this video or the concepts and themes shared within it. I can confirm that this video and concept was created by myself, a real human being with no external assistance from an AI Agent or tool.
I outwardly revoke permission to use my concepts, content and characteristics with any Artificial Intelligence model. If you wish to expand on this concept, please ensure you give credit to myself by linking this video and ensuring Artificial Intelligence is not used in your process. This channel does not support or condone the use of AI in any creative media. Thank you."
In short, I believe there is value to artificial intelligence and believe there may be aspects that can be used to make a positive difference, however the use of artificial intelligence in creative media is something I profoundly disagree with. As somebody who pushes creativity, originality and to think outside the box, it's counter-intuitive to rely or incooperate an AI agent with that process. The human experience is what I value, and I hope my work relays that message.
