The cursed skull was the first low effort video, and begun a toxic trend on the channel. It's a 3:16 second video that I put out to favour the quantity over quality approach I believed YouTube preferred at the time. Over time, I've grown to really hate this video and have since forgotten the original concept.
I attribute many of the later shortcomings of 2021 - 2022 to that video. It was piggybacking off the success of the Cursed Prowler Rework concept and did not really land with my audience either. Since that video there was the Demonic Engineer which I quite liked but felt landed short. The Ogre Demon which I had lots of fun making and collaborating with, but it never broke 1,000 views. I tried changing the formula and re-introducing the Hot Takes series with a video about the Screecher but that too didn't perform well. Then there was the Mimic Demon trilogy of videos, again uploaded separately to maximise views but really it was just one idea. Piggybacking off that, the Siren Demon which aimed to use the base mechanic of the Screecher but make it more interesting, which also didn't land. Then finally, the Argent Demons which tried to in cooperate Argent Energy into the gameplay but that too was not a successful video.
The curse of this concept continued leading to my old Windows 7 computer to no longer work, forcing videos to be delayed for a significant amount of time. When I returned it was with a much better arc for the channel but the damage was done. Fortunately, I took this as a learning experience not to succumb to what I believed to be true about YouTube and just do what I felt was right. Put effort in where it matters...
I've completely forgotten the concept and have little interest in revisiting it. It's stupid to blame that video for a low point in the Doom FooCept series but I do.
