Raised in Anaheim, California, Mr. Thoreson embarked on his musical journey at the age of 5. Throughout his high school years, he immersed himself in various Band and Choir activities, laying the foundation for his future in the world of music.
His academic pursuits led him to Fullerton College before he ventured to the University of Wisconsin, where he successfully attained his bachelor's degree in music. Subsequently, he delved into his graduate studies at the University of Colorado, concluding with the completion of his master's degree in Music Performance at the University of Minnesota.
A versatile figure in the realm of music, Mr. Thoreson wears multiple hats as an educator, performer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. His teaching career spans across university, high school, middle school, and elementary levels, encompassing 12 music programs in four different states. Additionally, he has left his mark as a featured performing artist, composer, and producer on various albums.
In the realm of composition, he has crafted music for a diverse array of ensembles and skill levels, and his compositions have earned a place on four recorded albums.
Beyond his musical endeavors, Mr. Thoreson is driven by a profound commitment to diversity and representation in arts education. At the core of his beliefs is the conviction that every young individual should have access to equitable arts education and the equal opportunity to pursue it in a manner that aligns with their unique strengths and preferences.
Ali Stanley was a member of Color Guard and Winter Guard teams throughout high school, and now serves as the Foothill High School Color Guard and Winter Guard artistic advisor. When not directing the art of tossing flags, rifles, and sabres, Ali volunteer ushers at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts as a fun way to see her favorite musicals.Â

Shannon Moore is a Foothil alumi pursuing Music Education at Riverside City College. At RCC, Shannon performs with their concert band, wind ensemble, jazz band, pep band, percussion ensembles, and the RCC Marching Tigers, serving as a member of their front ensemble for three years.
Shannon has taught private percussion lessons for 5 years and works at the School of Rock, Tustin.
An alumni of FHS, Branden Gu is an active participant within the Drum Major community. Branden teaches Drum Majors of all styles at several high schools and in private lessons.
In addition to teaching Drum Majors, Branden adjudicates for drum major competitions hosted by SAML and competes in the Western United States Pipe Band Association (WUSPBA). Branden is the appointed Vice Chair of the Flourishing Committee at SAML.
