In order to maintain a healthy diet and composure, all of us need to consume a certain amount of food. Typically this caloric requirement is based on gender, age, and activity level. On top of consuming enough calories, it is important to eat nutritional food in order to stay healthy. According to Health Canada, a healthy balance of nutrition for a 19+ person involves the following. 8-9 servings of fruits and/or vegetables, 8 servings of grains, 2 servings of milk (and or alternatives), and 2 3 servings of meat (and or alternatives) (Health Canada, 2010).
