A food shortage is the lack of available food in a community. A food shortage, although it may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about natural disasters, could be more relevant than you would think.
Due to causes such as hurricanes, earthquakes, global pandemics, and even overpopulation, food supply has begun to greatly diminish by the year. The level of food production will become limited due to the lack of land, water, and energy needed to produce it. When communities lack these vital resources, it could lead to negative health effects and in extreme cases starvation.
