Terms and Conditions for Fondo
Last updated: September 24, 2026
These terms apply when you use Fondo. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Fondo.
The app
Fondo is a personal tool for keeping an inventory of things you collect. You can record items, photos, prices, locations, and notes, browse them, see summaries of your library, export a CSV, and save or restore a backup. Book details can be filled in from Open Library when you look up an ISBN. An on-device assistant can answer questions about your collection when Apple Intelligence is available.
Your content
You own the information and photos you add. Fondo stores them on your device. You are responsible for what you enter, including making sure you have the right to use any photo you attach.
No account
Fondo does not require an account. Uninstalling the app removes the library stored on that device. Copies you already exported, including backups and CSV files, are not removed when you delete the app. You are responsible for keeping your own backups.
Accuracy
Totals, charts, and answers in Fondo are calculated from what you entered. They are not an appraisal, an insurance valuation, or professional advice. Book details from Open Library can be incomplete or wrong. Place names you type may be placed incorrectly on the map. Review anything important before you rely on it.
Third-party services
ISBN lookup uses Open Library. Map placement uses Apple. Those services have their own terms, and they may be unavailable or change without notice. Fondo does not control them.
Acceptable use
Use Fondo for your own collection. Do not use it to break the law, to infringe someone else's rights, or to interfere with the app or the services it calls.
The app is provided as is
Fondo is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, Matthew Harder disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Fondo is not guaranteed to be error-free, uninterrupted, or to preserve your data if a device is lost, damaged, or erased.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Matthew Harder is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or the value of items in your collection, arising out of your use of Fondo. If liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.
Changes
The app and these terms may change. The date above will be updated when the terms change. Continuing to use Fondo after an update means you accept the revised terms.
