Privacy Policy for Fondo
Last updated: September 24, 2026
Fondo is a personal collection inventory app. Your library stays on your device. Fondo does not require an account, and it does not sell or share your collection.
Information you add
Items, collections, photos, notes, prices, ratings, and locations you type are stored on your device. Preferences such as currency, sort order, and appearance are stored on your device as well. Fondo does not upload this information to a server that we operate.
Photos and camera
If you choose a photo or take one, Fondo saves a copy with that item. The camera and photo library are used only when you ask for them. Fondo does not browse your photo library in the background.
Book lookup
If you scan or look up an ISBN, Fondo sends that ISBN to Open Library (openlibrary.org) to retrieve public book details such as title and author. Open Library’s own privacy policy applies to that request. Fondo does not send your name, your other items, or your photos with it.
Places on the map
If you enter a place where an item was acquired, Fondo may send that place name to Apple so it can be shown on a map. This is a place name you typed, not your device’s GPS location. Fondo does not request location permission.
Ask
Questions you ask about your collection are answered on your device with Apple Intelligence when it is available. Your inventory is not sent to us for those answers.
Backups and export
CSV files and backup archives are created only when you export them. What happens to those files after you share or save them is up to you and the service you send them to.
What we do not do
Fondo does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking. We do not sell personal information. We do not collect a profile of you.
Children
Fondo is not directed at children under 13.
Deleting your information
Delete the app to remove the library stored on that device. Backups you already exported are not deleted by uninstalling the app.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated date above will change. Continued use of Fondo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
