Tanuki Temple is the newest quick service restaurant at Islands of Adventure, located in the yokai village section of the land. It's designed after various Japanese temples, and it was built in the village to honor the Tanuki, mythological yokai based on Japanese raccoon dogs who contributed to the village’s success. Tanuki statues appear throughout the interior and the exterior of the restaurant, and guests can search for them while they wait for their food. The interior also features Japanese-style seats, Coke Freestyle machines, and an ordering counter.

The restaurant has a relaxing calm vibe with tranquil zen music playing from hidden speakers. Unlike other quick service restaurants like Fire Eaters Grill and Thunder Falls Terrace, Tanuki Temple utilizes the food to table concept seen at Pizza Moon and Das Steakhaus in Epic Universe, where guests are brought to a table where they order food using their phones and a server brings their food to them, though guests also have the option of ordering food the traditional way via a walk up counter. The menu consists of Japanese food with light dishes inspired by omakase (though guests choose their food) and less adventurous food to satisfy picky palates, as well as drink options consisting of Coke products and Japanese drinks.
