SEA AND LAND (GR: ΣΤΕΡΙΟΘΆΛΑΣΣΑ)
Players: A game for unlimited players
Place: It can be played both indoors and outdoors
Equipment: Rope
How to play it: Before the game starts you have to put the rope in a line on the ground in order to divide sea from land. Everyone stands on one side of the rope – this is the “land” side. The other side of the rope is the “sea”. One volunteer then can call “sea!” or “land!” and everybody has to move with both of their feet to the respective side. If someone is too slow or gets confused they are out of the game. The volunteer should slowly speed up the commands and switch the order up to confuse the players (e.g. sea!-land-land-sea!). Furthermore, to increase the difficulty, the volunteer can call “both” and the players have to put one feet on the land side and one feet on the sea side (so that the rope is between their feet). The last player to remain in the game wins.
PILLARS (GR: ΚΟΛΏΝΕΣ)
Players: A game for unlimited players
Place: It can be played both indoors and outdoors
Equipment: A rope in order to separate the area of each team
How to play it: First of all players have to divide in two teams - each team gets its own area, with the rope dividing the two areas, and their “pillar” at the further side of their area. The goal of the game is for one player to touch the pillar of the other team without getting caught. After a player crosses the line into the other team’s area, any player of the other team can catch him (they have to grab them at least a little bit, not just lightly touch). When a player is caught this way they have to go to the “prison”, a specific area behind the other team’s pillar. A “prisoner” can be freed if a player of their own team touches them – this can be useful if the pillar is too closely guarded and you need more of your players for a team charge. The team has a few minutes at the start to discuss their strategy since it’s a teamwork game. A common strategy would be for two or three people to guard the pillar while the other players run to the opponent’s pillar all together.
CHICKENS AND FOXES (GR: ΚΌΤΕΣ ΚΑΙ ΑΛΕΠΟΎΔΕΣ)
Players: A game for unlimited players
Place: It can be played both indoors and outdoors
Equipment: No equipment needed
How to play it: One of the players is the fox and the other is the chicken. The rest of the players get in a straight line behind the chicken and hold the person in front of them tightly by the sides – those players are the “chicks”. The goal of the fox is to grab everytime the last chick in line and pull him away from the others while the chick tries to hold on. When the fox manages to grab the last chick the fox wins. The chicken can keep its arms to its side to protect the chicks and make it more difficult for the fox. When the fox wins it can become the chicken and the game can start again.
LONG DONKEY (GR: ΜΑΚΡΙΆ ΓΑΙΔΟΎΡΑ)
Players: A game for unlimited players
Place: It can be played both indoors and outdoors
Equipment: No equipment needed
How to play it: Warning, this game should be played on a soft floor, like sand. The players are divided in two equal groups. The first group, are the supporters who form a human chain as shown in the picture bellow called "the long donkey" and the second group are the riders who jump on top of the human chain. The two groups cooperate in order to fit every member of the riders on top of the long donkey without breaking the chain. The riders one by one take a running leap, trying to land as far as they can on top of the long donkey, since they are not allowed to move further into the chain once they have landed. If at any moment the chain breaks, the players unride the long donkey and restart the game until they manage to fit everybody the long donkey and beat the game.
BIIIZ (GR: ΜΠΙΖΖΖ)
Players: The ideal number of players should be around four to eight people
Place: It can be played both indoors and outdoors
Equipment: No equipment needed
How to play it: We draw lots in order to define who is going to turn his back to the others. The game starts with the rest of the players standing behind the previous defined person. The purpose of the game is to hit or touch the turned player in their back as fast as possible in order for him to not understand which one of the other players have touched him. As soon as one of the other players touches the person in front of them they have to do instantly the sound of biiiz and raise their finger while doing a circular motion. The game goes on like this ,and if the person guesses correctly who touched him its the turn of the other person to get his back to others.
LICE (GR: ΨΕΊΡΕΣ)
Players: A game for unlimited players
Place: It can be played both indoors and outdoors
Equipment: A ball
How to play it: All players stand in a circle. A volunteer, comes forward in the center of the circle and throws the ball vertically in the air while shouting the name of another player. The player whose name was called, tries to catch the ball as fast he\she can while the other participants run away .
Scenario no 1. The player manages to catch the ball before it hits the ground. The player then has to throw the ball immediately (vertically) in the air while shouting the name of another player.
Scenario no 2. The player manages to catch the ball after it has hit the ground. The player then shouts "ONE, TWO, THREE, STOP!" and all other participants have to freeze in their positions, standing completely still without dodging the ball. Then, the player with the ball has the right to take three steps to approach the other participants and try to hit them with the ball.
If he manages to hit a participant, the person who was hit gets a lice (looses a life). A circle is then formed again and the person who was hit, continues the game by throwing the ball in the air and shouting another name.
If he doesn't manage to hit another participant, the player who missed gets a lice and has to shout another name as mentioned above.
When a participant has gotten fives lice, he is given a (silly) nickname by the other participants and has to be called by that name for the rest of the game.
