English - German Library
“The more that you read,
the more things you will know.
The more you learn,
the more places you will go!”
~ Dr Seuss
The Förderkreis completetly finances the English / German library and its staff, providing first-class language teaching material, over 7000 books, videos and DVDs for the children to enjoy. Without the Förderkreis and the financial support of its parents there would not be any library at this school.
The Charles-Dickens school library has an extensive range of books, suitable for all age ranges and interests, in both English and German.
All pupils have the chance to come to the library with their class once a week, either during their English or German lessons. Under normal circumstances the library is also open during the lunch and afternoon break. In the quiet, calm library atmosphere all “bookworms” are welcome to come in and read!
Pupils are allowed to borrow up to 3 books, in English, or German free of charge. However, should a book get lost or damaged, we kindly ask that it is replaced or paid for .
Donations of suitable books for our library are always welcome. Otherwise, we purchase new books from the money received from fundraising events such as Book Week.
Our library team consists of three native English speaking librarians, employed by the Förderkreis.
If you have any questions or need any further information please don´t hesitate to ask.
