Players:2-(Myself[Gotant] and the dungeon master, a friend and past counselor)

Gotant is a traveler wandering after leaving his village a couple months ago. He has been following a pacifist path but has been prone to anger. His mother sent him off for adventure and gave him a dagger of House Avicci which was a family heirloom passed through generations. Gotant finds a poster advertising a job to slay wolves troubling the town of Welton.  He tried to survey his surroundings but failed hard as 4 wolves come out and try to attack the 4 nearby sheep. Gotant charges forward and attacks while the wolves try to steal the sheep and attack the shepherds in retaliation. He attacks one of the  wolves and forces it back but two of them snatch a sheep and run back to the forest. Gotant sweeps his great axe and kills the 2 remaining wolves and realizes there is something magic with the wolves. The wolves are very calculated, were after something, and are also more intelligent. On one of the wolves he finds a scroll emanating black energy and reads it to learn a whirlwind spell in place of his cleave. The farmers say to find Mericson at the Shepherd’s Crook bar. The bartender says Mericson is in a meeting which is getting very heated and Gotant gets a table nearby. Gotant hears the townspeople saying William Featherrock is sick after pursuing the wolves and is talking about magic talking wolves. Gotant went upstairs and listened in for injured noises then finds quiet whispered mumbling. He goes inside where he finds a paranoid and very injured bandaged halfling. He says that the wolves are going to destroy them all then claims that Gotant is sent by the magic wolves and their leader to kill him. Gotant persuades William to give up more information and he tells Gotant he was with a hunting party. The wolves got dangerous then he heard voices. The wolves could talk and 2 magic wolves seemed to be leading-one with blue fur with sparks and one with red fur and flames. Gotant asks for the location and William says Mericson would know. Gotant goes back down and the bartender asks if he fell into the toilet so Gotant throws his voice and tries to act like he did before going back down and claiming he magically got out. He sits back down at his table and listens in on the conversation at Mericson’s table, where he hears the council discussing the wolf situation. Gotant introduces himself and says the bounty would probably have to be doubled because it’s magic talking wolves. Mericson references his brother but refuses to speak more. Gotant manages to convince him and Mericson’s companion, Titus, says  that Mericson’s brother, Dequavious, is a freak and his powers were not natural. Mericson says the last word from him was claiming to find the wolves’ caves. Mericson shows a picture of Dequavious and Gotant notices the markings of a sorcerer, realizes he is adopted, and knows he is very skilled in magic. Titus says that it is black magic but Mericson disagrees. Mericson says his brother was adopted after both being orphaned in the war, that he is not a bad person, and he wanted to be the town protector but the town treated him as an outcast. Gotant shows Mericson a trace of magic from the wolves and asks if it is familiar. Mericson said he’s never seen it before but Gotant realizes he is lying. Gotant tries to get Mericson in private but he is busy and says he will talk with Gotant later. In private, Mericson says that the trace of magic Gotant showed him(which he retrieved from the wolf earlier) was his brother’s and is very saddened, obviously having no idea before. Mericson says he hasn’t been able to track his brother or his magic then begs Gotant not to hurt him. He says he is a good person but may have sent the wolves because the town treated him as an outcast. Gotant asks about how the hunting party found the cave and Mericson reveals that he has a compass that tracks his brother’s magic then hands it to Gotant. Gotant thanks him and heads out to the forest then follows the compass, where he finds there is magic in the air that is trying to stop him from finding the cave. The compass allows him passage but wolves are watching him. 2 wolves try to attack Gotant but he convinces them to talk. The wolves say they only attack the townspeople because they need resources. The wolves are distrustful of Gotant because he slayed their brothers earlier. Gotant tries to convince the wolves to stand down but he fails, so they lunge at Gotant, prompting Gotant to nonlethally attack them with the blunt end of his greataxe. He tries to convince them to not attack anymore when a giant but injured owl bear drops down and squishes one of the wolves then tackles Gotant. Gotant breaks away and runs as he slashes at a tree to block the owl bear’s path. It stops the owl bear for a second but then he crashes through it, so Gotant tries it again, toppling a huge tree which grapples it. Gotant hits it once while out of reach then runs, successfully hiding from the owl bear. Gotant realizes there are still wolves watching him but they don’t attack him because the owl bear is still around. Gotant pulls himself up to a tree and rests quickly then finds the 2 wolves Featherrock mentioned. The red one’s name is Flame and the blue one’s name is Bolt. Flame says they didn’t get enough sheep and need to make a grand attack on the town while Bolt says to only do small attacks for now and that it is much better to do more peaceful scavenging. Gotant waits for the wolves to go into the cave then asks to talk with the leaders. The wolves come back with Flame and Bolt. Gotant proposes that the townspeople could get them medicine and food in exchange for the safety of their livestock. He says that he cannot promise anything but wants to act as a go between the townspeople and the wolves and successfully convinces the wolves that if they keep going the way they are going it will only lead to a significantly weaker situation for them both because the pack would need even more food and medicine even if they win. Bolt is looking down at her pregnant stomach, which Gotant noticed and subtly mentioned. Bolt speaks into Gotant’s mind and says not to speak of the pregnancy. Flame and Bolt say that Mericson’s brother was the one who gave the wolves intelligence and the ability to speak then Bolt gives a trace of magic to Gotant, which gives him a vision of Dequavious being attacked by Flame and Bolt. He gets the upper hand with magic and instead talks with the wolves and says that he will force the town to respect him and that it doesn’t matter if he takes care of the wolves because there will always be more threats. Dequavious ends with saying the world will respect him then going off. Gotant says he will speak with the townspeople and tell Mericson all that he learned. Flame tells Gotant that if he does not secure a deal the wolves will attack the village the next night but Bolt tells Gotant thank you and that she is trying to create a better world for their child. As Gotant goes to leave he is hit with the voice of his mother who says to not travel in the dark, so Gotant sleeps next to the fire the wolves had set up then returns to the town after morning comes. Gotant peeks inside the cave and sees a lot of supplies, a large number of wolves, and the weaker wolves in the safest point in the cave. Gotant returns to the town and finds Mericson during a church service. Gotant writes “very very urgent. Need to speak with you” and holds it up for Mericson to see but Mericson ignores him then talks with Gotant after the service. Gotant gives all of the information he can, including that the wolves never attacked humans and tries to project the memory of his brother but fails repeatedly. Gotant tells him that the wolves seek a deal and Mericson suggests the wolves offer protection in exchange for the supplies they need. Gotant grabs food then goes back to the forest. He tells the wolves the deal and Bolt is for it but Flame is very against it. Bolt lets the news of the pregnancy slip and Flame catches on, then Bolt convinces Flame to accept the deal because of the child. Bolt gives a new spell, spark, to Gotant and says Gotant is now a member of the pack then Flame gives Gotant a flame spark. Bolt says that they will name their new child after Gotant’s last name, Avicci then Gotant heads back to the village and says the wolves accept their deal. He asks for lodging for the wolves to be stationed at Weldon as well as for the sick, elderly, and young of the wolves then shows Mericson the memory of Dequavious. Mericson is saddened but said that it will help convince the townspeople. Mericson sends Gotant to try to bring Dequavious back to the light and if that’s impossible to kill him, offering 100 gold.

Before Session

I(Gotant) was asked questions about last episode for inspiration and I answered all of them correctly so I gained 2 inspirations.

 Gotant has been following the compass and it leads him in a direction but with no traces of magic found. He comes across the village of Villane, which is a small peaceful village in the plains. Heavy rain comes pouring down so Gotant goes into a tavern called the Broken Tusk Inn then grabs a seat. He tries to get his clothes dry but then senses someone of great power is in the tavern. The source of the power is coming from a halfling sitting at a table eating and Gotant is curious why. Gotant asks Pebble Goldfoot about his magic and Pebble responds that he has the power of the sun and rainbows. Someone tugs at Gotant’s leg and he finds it’s a short teen boy, Mathias, who asks him to sit down.  Mathias is star struck by Gotant’s axe and Pebble’s magic, so questions them. The boy inquires if people think Pebble is a kid because of his stature and Pebble responds that his intelligence masks it. Gotant and Pebble refresh themselves and Gotant learns that the town is troubled by goblins kidnapping people. The people at the next table were talking about the goblins having dark magic, so Gotant goes over and his charisma(nat 20!) stops them from being intimidated by him. The people say the goblins have been sacrificing unsuspecting travelers to their god to resurrect it. They also say Lord Delius led a crusade against the goblins but died, with his tomb being near the goblins. Mathias says that he has world saving information but Pebble tells it is a lie, so Mathias says he wants gold to have the blacksmith’s(Lars’s) daughter, Bess, marry him in the future. Gotant and Pebble head to the blacksmith after paying, with Pebble using fool’s gold to pay. Gotant tells Bess that Mathias told him he could get a discount on a shield. Gotant succeeds in his persuasion and the girl gives a 20% discount, which she also gives to Pebble after mistaking him for a kid. Pebble says he is looking for a sword, but they do not have anything he wants. The blacksmith’s kid brings back a shield for Gotant, which he pays for with 20 gold. Pebble calls the blacksmith an idiot, so the girl takes away his discount and starts to cry. Gotant comforts her and says Pebble gets shorter an inch every time he insults someone. Gotant asks for a one handed sword then purchases it for 5 gold due to an extra discount Bess gave him. Lars comes back and Gotant asks him about the goblins. Lars says that he is very worried and has Bess always in sight to make sure she can’t come to harmt. Gotant inquires about the location of the goblins so Lars promises to make a map for him the next morning and the party return to the inn. Mathias offers his information for 1 gold, which Gotant takes then he tells them that he wants to marry Bess one day and that he needs a magical amulet from the Delian Tomb worn by a shaman to provide for her. He also says that only the pure of heart can enter. Mathias hands Gotant and Pebble a registry to get a room in the inn and Gotant puts “Susan Tupp”, with Pebbles putting his own name. Mathias questions Pebble’s name but Pebble successfully defends himself. Gotant tries to show Mathias a magic trick but fails so Mathias doubles the price of the inn stay. Gotant asks Pebble for gold while winking, so Pebble creates fools gold which he gives to Mathias. Pebble says he expects payment for the fake gold, but Gotant says it’s fake currency so he mimes giving Pebble gold. Gotant and Pebble agree to stick together to handle the goblin threat then retreat to their rooms. Gwen, Pebble’s unicorn patron who is a god of chaos, appears before Pebble and says he should go to the woods, because Pebble sensed great magic in them. Pebble asks Gwen if the goblins have found a magical sword, which Gwen says no to and also tells Pebbles about Daquavius. Gotant and Pebble rest then the next day  hear noises from downstairs and go to investigate them. They find Lars who is distressed and says the goblins took Bess. Pebble tries to offer only saving half of Bess but Gotant silences him. Lars gives Gotant the map he promised and Pebble questions Lars more. Lars says the goblin conflict started around a year ago, when Daquavius would have come through. Gotant volunteers information on Daquavius then Gotant and Pebbles proceed into the woods. Gotant pulls out the magic compass, which points to both the woods and one other point. Gotant follows the compass into the woods then grabs Pebble just as he was about to fall into a leaf covered pitfall trap. Pebble senses strong sinister energy which gets stronger as they approach the tomb. Gotant finds tracks and very quickly pulls Pebble to a stop just before a goblin patrol. Pebble wants to kill them but Gotant wants to talk, so Gotant gets in between them ready to hit but not actually attacking when Pebble hits them with a massive Eldritch Blast which blinds and hits them hard. Gotant knocks them out then ties them up. Gotant tries to wake up one with a spark but it kills them and Pebbles tries to wake the other up with a smack but accidentally kills them. Gotant loots the goblins and finds a strange looking talisman glowing with black energy on each of them. Gotant inspects it successfully(natural 20!) and finds it is used to celebrate their goblin deity. Since it is glowing, a sacrifice has been made recently. Gotant also finds a potion with a strange and smelly liquid. Pebble says it’s goblin piss and Gotant throws it at him, but Pebble dodges it. Pebble also finds a flute on the goblin. Gotant and Pebble go farther into the forest, where they eventually find the tomb. Pebbles senses the tomb used to be a beautiful place but has lost a lot of luster from the goblins taking over. Pebble also sees a vision that shows the order the tomb was founded by came together to fight a creature called Maglubiyete. Gotant and Pebble smell the scent of death alluding to the goblins having sacrificed a lot of people recently. Gotant and Pebble take note of the patrol path of the goblin, with Pebble knowing Maglubiyete is close to being resurrected and that the goblins are being enthralled by him. Gotant comes up with a battle plan to get behind the goblins but fails(natural 1) a strength check to throw a hand axe so got it stuck in his toe. He takes it out but the goblins detect him and try to run inside to tell the others. Pebble knocks one of them out but the other makes it inside. Gotant hears Bess scream, so charges inside. There are 3 goblins in the first chamber, which Gotant and Pebble dispatch of then proceed to a small hallway. Gotant triggers a trap which hits him in the back of the head so Gotant asks for healing, which prompts Pebble to use his book of chaos to heal him. Gotant and Pebble proceed into the Hall Of The Oathkeeper where they find the goblins ready to sacrifice Bess, strapped down on a table. They also see a statue of Delius with his armor nearby. About to do the sacrifice is a goblin shaman Mathias told them about along with a bug bear. There are also 3 additional goblins in the room. Pebbles kills a goblin, which disintegrates and the shaman uses it as another sacrifice. The bug bear tries to tackle Gotant but Gotant resists(natural 20!) and the goblins attack Pebble. Gotant picks up the bug bear and throws him at the shaman but the shaman has a dark magic shield around them. The shaman uses a powerful lightning spell to hit Gotant and Pebble. 2 of the remaining goblins and the bug bear surround Gotant, so Gotant uses his whirlwind killing all of them(nat 20!). Pebble uses his book of chaos to disintegrate the Shaman’s magic shield. The shaman uses all of the dead’s blood around her to regain her health and knocks Pebble out with an electric blast. Gotant decapitates the shaman then runs over to try to stabilize Pebble. He pulls the arrow out from Pebble which stabilizes him then Gotant frees Bess from the altar. Gotant goes to inspect the armor and sword then sees the sword is movable. He attempts to move it and barely does, which moves a secret passage in the wall. Gotant asks for healing, which Pebble tries to extort him for but quickly relents when Gotant pulls out his great axe. Gotant pulls Bess forward and Pebble casts a spell which heals them all. Gotant goes into the secret passageway where they find sarcophagi, a statue of Delius, and Pebble notices the ghost of Delius. Pebble tries to talk with the ghost but continually fails while Gotant notices the room is where the order was first started and that it is in pristine condition. Pebble is finally able to talk with Delius and asks him about a sword that he stole from someone Pebbles cared about. Delius says the only sword he had was one he was granted by the gods that can only be wielded by the pure of heart, Oathsworn. Delius says that it cannot be wielded by Pebble but may be able to be by Gotant. Pebble tries to convince Delius that he should have it so he can kill people, which makes Delius disgusted and Delius also says Daquavius turned the goblins feral. Pebble asks where Daquavius went and Delius doesn’t want to tell Pebble but will tell him only to tell Gotant, because he is pure of heart. Delius says that Daquavius is trying to make a deal with a dark god, on a war path, and went to the next town. Delius tells Pebble to say for Gotant to take his sword and his oath, which Pebble relays. Gotant takes the sword, with Delius saying that Gotant must fight evil and remain pure of heart. Gotant agrees, the sword goes free, and Gotant now has the Oathsworn. A powerful sword which does radiant damage and double damage against evil creatures. As Gotant picks it up, he feels the aura of Delius wash over him as the room transforms back to its normal decrepit state. Gotant picks up Bess and takes her back to town. Pebble talks with Gwen then finds a seal left by Daquavius. He tries to dispel it but Daquavius attempts to take over his mind. Pebble overpowers Daquavius’s influence and learns the dark tentacles spell. Gwen questions Pebble taking Daquavius’s magic with him and Pebble says it is so he can get to know Daquavius more. Pebble and Gotant arrive back in town and are greeted by Lars, who is very thankful for Bess’s return. Lars is shocked that Delius knighted Gotant and gives Gotant 50 gold as well as a permanent 20% discount. Gotant notices his magical compass is spinning around frantically then pointing directly to Pebble. Gotant questions Pebble, as Pebble gets whispers in his brain from Daquavius saying Gotant will betray him. Pebble tries to cast aspersions at Gotant but Gotant counters his points then they both get going to the next town.

Before Session

Gotant and Pebble were asked questions about last episode for inspiration and we answered all but one bonus question correctly so I got 2 inspirations.

 As Pebble and Gotant go back to the tavern, Mathias confronts them about the fake gold they gave him. They pay 12 gold each then rest until the next morning. Gotant goes to the blacksmith and Bess says she had nightmares but Gotant saved her. Gotant sells her his great axe for 15 gold then they head to another shop. They buy climbing gear and ask about Daquavius to which the merchant says he came through asking for a map and information. The merchant also says there is a dragon near Pinebrook. Gotant and Pebble head out to Pinebrook and Gotant learns Pebble has maternal issues and hates his father. Pebble is looking for a sword called Wolf’s Blood, that an ex lover stole from him with Pebble not knowing the reason why. Pebble says everyone who wielded the Wolf’s Blood died and that he may be standoffish to people he should be nice to. Gotant and Pebble see a massive spider retreating into the forest but ignore it, avoiding a trap. It gets dark, so Gotant picks Pebble up and throws him into a tree then they rest. Pebble has a dream of his father, Rock Goldfoot, saying that his job is to curate dangerous artifacts and make sure they don’t fall into the wrong hands. He berates Pebble for letting his lover, Warner, take the Wolf’s blood and says that he wields a staff named Despair which will eventually kill him as well. Rock then says to kill Warren and take the sword back. Pebble wakes up and Gwen says that she was once an outcast as well and that she’s sorry his father is a troglodyte. Pebble reveals the reason why he hated being a Goldfoot is because he would eventually lose his mom and speculates on whether her artifact was the source of her coldness to him. The party starts traveling again and Pebble sees a falling star plummet to the earth. The party eventually end up in Pinebrook, a peaceful town on a lake. Gotant pulls out the magic compass and finds it’s pointing towards a mountain but can’t discern which. The party hears a woman, Emogene Cool, at an adventure board saying that they are looking for people to go check on the dragon. Pebble insults her, so Gotant puts his hand over Pebble’s mouth prompting Pebble to bite him. Pebble heals Gotant with the Book Of Chaos then Pebble and Gotant meet with Captain Cool, heading up the mountain to see the dragon. The Captain says that she saw Daquavius and that he went up to the mountains with no climbing gear. The party notices rustling in the bushes, so Gotant rips the bush out and finds a baby dragon. The baby dragon says “mama” in draconic, so the captain says it’s looking for its mom. Gotant asks for the book on draconic the captain was using and she obliges. The dragon, Silvie, says he’s hungry so Gotant gives her some rations. Pebble gives Gotant the baby dragon and they begin their ascent. Gotant requests a fire protection spell and Pebble tries but it douses them in oil(under 10 roll). Gotant shakes off the oil and it lands on both the dragon and Pebble. Pebble uses the book of chaos to summon a rainstorm which washes the oil off. Gotant tries to jump over the puddle but slips and Silvie and Pebble use him as a bridge. Pebble cleans Gotant with prestidigitation then they proceed forward. The party sees moving icicles above them which Gotant casts flame spark on, prompting the living icicles to engage in combat. Pebble asks the book of chaos for a fireball which melts one of five. Gotant uses his Oathsworn which shatters one of them into two then uses his Oathsworn with his whirlwind which knocks the split two out and splits another of them in two. The icicles knock Pebble out, so the baby dragon comes to his defense spitting fire. Gotant kills the two shattered icicles and intimidates the other two to retreat. The baby dragon tries to wake Pebble up but fails so Gotant shoves two rations into his mouth, making the baby dragon happy. Gotant uses another ration and gives one to Pebble. The party proceeds further and Gotant sees chalk drawings of trolls dancing then working. Pebble remembers trolls usually like to steal dragon eggs and that may be the way Silvie wound up at the bottom of the path. The party proceeds to find a huge ice wall and fell down it twice but eventually scaled it. The party then found an ice mirror with draconic runes that says “you must face yourself to continue.” Gotant looks in the mirror and it shifts into an image of his mother saying “Gotant, you do realize that dagger is the reason you’re on this journey. You are not from this village. I promised to protect you once your original family was slain and the reason you are having these troubles is because you are not a barbarian, you are actually ___.” Gotant finishes the sentence with “a paladin”, which makes his mother disappear, causes Oathsworn to glow, and the mirror melts. Pebble approaches the mirror and sees Warner saying it’s not fair and Pebble shouldn’t have to suffer because of his family. Pebble says it’s part of the sacrifice but Warner proposes running away. Pebble refuses and Warner says he will do whatever it takes to make sure he lives a long and happy life. It was the last time Pebble saw him because the next day Warner fled with Wolf’s Blood to save him. Pebble’s image then appears and asks if he truly wants to kill Warner. Pebble is uncertain then the mirror melts as Pebble cries. Gotant picks Pebble up and proceeds forward. Pebble sees the Book Of Chaos flipping through pages, trying to remind Pebble he was looking for ways to dispel curses(trying to stop Wolf’s Blood). The party finds 3 slides that will lead to either certain death or progress. Gotant uses his flame spark down each of the tunnels and finds the middle tunnel is the one that leads upwards to Silvie’s(the dragon’s) mother. The party proceeds into it and finds a chamber filled with dragon eggs. They hear grunting, which ends up being trolls trying to crack and steal the eggs. Gotant and Pebble sneak up on a troll each then both hit the trolls with synchronized strikes. The trolls whistle which summons the living icicles. Gotant swings again while Pebble blasts the disoriented troll with a fireball  but the Book Of Chaos misfires and hits Gotant. Gotant shovels 10 rations into his mouth then whirlwinds both a troll and an icicle. Pebble asks for a spell to kill the troll and 2 icicles around him, so the Book Of Chaos initiates self destruct which kills all of them. Gotant uses whirlwind which kills one icicle cluster and splits one in two. The mother dragon, Roren, crashes through the ceiling onto Pebble and says someone told her that Gotant would be trying to steal her babies. Gotant tries to translate to explain the situation but fails so gets hit with fire breath. Gotant suggests using the Book Of Chaos to translate, but Pebble fails, translating that they ate her babies then came back for more. The dragon turns to him and Pebble translates the true situation successfully but then Gotant mistranslates majorly(natural 1). Gotant translates successfully but Roren is blinded by rage, so the dragon knocks Gotant out. Pebble successfully translates and dives for Silvie, narrowly dodging a swipe from the dragon. Silvie speaks something in draconic and nuzzles Pebble, which makes Roren stop attacking. The mother dragon speaks common and says sorry for the way they met then heals Gotant back to consciousness. She then says Daquavius was the man who told her that Gotant would try to steal her children. Pebble tries to convince the dragon into letting him have Silvie but the dragon breathes fire in his direction and says if Pebble doesn’t stop she will bite his head off. The dragon allows Pebble and Gotant to climb aboard her then flies them down to Pinebrook, saying if they need anything(especially Gotant) they only need to ask. The party goes to an inn, with Gotant getting water and a room while Pebble drinks. Far away in an undisclosed location Warner is in front of a strange powerful tower holding Wolf’s Blood with a woman beside him who asks him if he’s found a way to remove the curse. The woman says Warner only has a month before Wolf’s Blood eradicates his soul to which Warner says he hopes it’s enough then proceeds into the tower.

Before Session

We(Gotant and Pebble) were asked questions about the previous session to make sure we were paying attention and answered all of the questions correctly so earned 2 inspirations each.(4 for Pebble and 6 for Gotant total)

It has been a day since the last voyage that Gotant and Pebble had and they notice that snow has started to come down hard and fast. Pebble got a message from Dequavious saying that the star they both saw is important and they will both be going after it. Gotant and Pebble remember seeing a tidal wave of ice and snow past the dragon’s mountain. Gotant thinks about his paladin’s oath which prompts the voice of a greater power to call down to him from the mountain. Gotant purchases new climbing gear , a pickaxe to break through the ice and create a cave, campfire gear, a coat, and new rations. Gotant then goes to the blacksmith, where people are panicking, and gets his Oathsworn polished and purchases a cleaning cloth. Gotant asks Pebble to use the book of chaos for cold protection, so Pebble uses it and gets protection from Frostbite for both of them. Gotant and Pebble go to Roren’s cave and they notice a wolf blocking their path with magic emanating from it and Gotant asks Pebble to counteract the blizzard’s magic while backing away. The book of chaos successfully dispels the magic, which causes the wolf to run off. Later Gotant and Pebble find an unattended campfire which Gotant urges them to not loot because they don’t know who it belongs to then move along to find adventurers killed by yetis. They return to the campfire and Gotant tries to smash open a chest but hits it so hard that all the stuff inside flies off the mountain. Gotant then grabs a bottle and accidentally punctures it with his dagger but is able to drink coffee from it. Pebble tries to call Gotant weak but he counters with the fact Pebble was knocked out by goblins and asks what kind of adventurer could get knocked out by goblins. Pebble answers “A CHILD COULD!,” so since Pebble was saying he is a child(despite being 400 years old) Gotant picks Pebble up and gives him a piggy back ride. Pebble jumps off him then kicks Gotant in the shin, so Gotant tries to punt him up the hill but misses and hurls him off a cliff. Pebble barely saves himself with a book of chaos teleportation going straight to Roren’s cave then Roren teleports Gotant straight to the cave and says that the mountains are known as the spine of the world, with a big Viking god known as Dhanos once resting there. Roren also tells them of a sword meant to be wielded by the gods. Pebble negotiates having a room in Roren’s cave so he can visit Silvie then Roren says she can’t fly to the blizzard but they can use her back cave entrance. Gotant and Pebble proceed, barely avoiding yetis, then notice a giant statue marking Dhanos Rest. The Oathsworn reacts with its runes glowing and Gotant hears a voice saying to kneel. Gotant prays to Dhanos, who speaks to Gotant and says “even in darkest night when the world is enshrouded in chaos, I will bring light to others”, marking Gotant’s new oath which he accepts. Dhanos says  “stand tall Knight of the Radiant Dawn” and the Oathsworn gains new runes saying Radiant Dawn. Pebble and Gotant move on and find druids trying to commune with an elemental but frozen solid and Gotant finds that the druids would freeze again before they could do anything even if they unfroze them, so Gotant and Pebble move on. They find an ice genasi named Glacia who asks them if they’re here to make the voices stop. Upon questioning Glacia says the voices started when the meteor fell and Gotant says they’re here to help. Gotant tells Pebble to try to save her, so Pebble tries to use the book of chaos but it gives her more energy instead causing Glacia to transform into a giant ice spider and tries to slam down on him but fails(nat 20!). Gotant tries to convince Glacia they are not there to hurt her but the magic from the book of chaos is still driving her crazy. Gotant says to try to take the power away but Pebble ignores him and shoots a fireball at her then uses the book of chaos to zap the energy from her(lowering her armor class). Gotant slices her leg off and blue blood litters the battlefield then moves back to Pebble. Pebble gives the book of chaos control of the spell, so it wraps black tentacles around Gotant which locks him in place, making it so he can’t dodge as the ice spider bears down on him. Gotant falls to the ground knocked out as Glacia attacks him but then gets back up(3 death save successes plus a nat 20!). Pebble uses the book of chaos which makes a sonic boom almost pushing both Gotant and Pebble to the edge of the platform then Gotant downs 10 of his rations then attacks her with the Oathsworn. Pebble tries to use the book of chaos which causes Gotant’s Oathsworn to fly at him, which Gotant dodges and the Oathsworn kills Glacia. Gotant and Pebble then see Dequavious at the meteorite, pocketing it and Gotant downs another 2 rations. Gotant tried to convince Dequavious to see the light but Dequavious says chaos is the answer to everything, not the light then says Pebble should approve since he has been using the god of chaos, Varlek’s, greatest artifact. Dequavious questions Pebble’s use of the book of chaos then says Dequavious is also a vessel for Varlek. He says that chaos is the way people become stronger and the people killed by the chaos are a sacrifice that needs to be taken then creates a black hole but chooses not to end Pebble and Gotant with it. Gotant feels fear but is able to overcome it then tries to pretend he will fight for Dequavious to stab him in the back but Dequavious grabs it and forces him back, saying he likes Gotant and will kill him last. Gotant throws a flame spark at him but Dequavious shrugs it off then Pebble tries to use a spell to throw Glacia at Dequavious but Dequavious transforms her into a shadow warrior. He summons a portal that brings the shadow warrior to Gotant but it can’t attack yet, so Gotant throws another flame spark at Dequavious. Pebble launches Gotant at the shadow warrior but he misses, then Dequavious summons a giant shadow yeti and commands the shadow warrior to attack Gotant. Gotant swings but misses and Pebble tries to send the shadow yeti off the cliff but it elbow drops him. The shadow tries to hit Gotant then shoves him off of the nearby cliff(2 nat 1s) but Gotant recites his oath and the Oathsworn glows as Gotant had used a seraphic vanguard of the radiant dawn to summon a knight. Gotant and the knight both attack doing 36 damage and making Dequavious recoil then Pebble asks the book of chaos to get rid of the shadow yeti prompting the book of chaos to become giant and flatten the yeti. Dequavious summons a snow abomination and commands the shadow to go for Pebble but it misses then Dequavious sends a lighting strike at Gotant. Gotant downs enough rations to bring him up to full vitality but gets knocked back(nat 1) forcing Gotant to lose concentration. He regains it(nat 20!) then Pebble picks up Dequavious and throws him off the clip but he flies in the air. Pebble tries to hit the shadow with a fireball but it shoots down at his foot then Dequavious shoots a chaos bolt at Gotant’s knight causing it to start to lose form. Gotant downs rations then both him and his knight bring their blades down and shatter the ice golem. Pebble casts a spell to show Dequavious his disappointed mother then casts an eldritch blast on the shadow which kills it. Dequavious says if Gotant and Pebble wish to fight him they need to find him across the seas then flies away as he starts an avalanche. Pebble casts a teleportation spell which transports Pebble, Gotant, and the knight to a village called Minnesack. The Oathsworn starts to glow as Gotant’s spectral knight goes back into the sword, then Gotant and Pebble look up and see Pinebrook being completely destroyed by the avalanche. Pebble notices the same woman with a strange glow who was with Warner, Shiki, staring at Gotant and him. She says she wanted to meet the one Warner put everything on the line for and says causing an avalanche is not a good first impression. Shiki says that Gotant was supposed to die, holding up a clock that represents the time Gotant has left as Gotant sees a vision of himself falling off the cliff that he was saved by the knight from. Shiki says that she  knows where Warner is and will let Pebble know if he shows the book of chaos but Pebble refuses then Shiki shows Gotant the clock again and restarts it as she leaves. Gotant suggests Pebble trap Shiki and Pebble tries but the book of chaos refuses then Shiki comes up behind Pebble and smiles as she comes to the realization he works for Varlek. Shiki says Dequavious will die when he takes over the world but that Gotant and Pebble could influence that if they can work together then threatens to kill Pebble and starts to pull Pebble’s soul from his body but releases it at the last second. Shiki goes to Pinebrook to collect souls then Gotant argues with Pebble a bit about trying to save people in Pinebrook. Gotant realizes it’s futile trying to get Pebble to help because the townspeople didn’t like Pebble, so walks off to head back and save the people trapped in the avalanche. Roren appears and gives Gotant a ride back to Pinebrook, where Gotant uses his pickaxe to break people out. The book of chaos tells Pebble to be careful dealing with death and that chaos and death have a deal then Gwen appears and says she doesn’t like the chaos god speaking to and manipulating Pebble. Pebble says he wants to let Varlek control him and that they may need some space prompting Gwen to say she’s disappointed in him then leave, with Pebble being slightly weaker.

Before Session

We(Gotant and Pebble) were asked questions about the previous session to make sure we were paying attention and answered all of the questions correctly so earned 2 inspirations each.(4 for Pebble and 6 for Gotant total)

A few days have passed since Gotant and Roren went to Pinebrook to save people from the avalanche. Pebble has been feeling empty with Gwen leaving but is feeling more attuned with the book of chaos. Gotant and Roren saved 75% of the village but 25% did not make it. Roren bestowed Gotant a gift of dragon scales he can graft to armor or weapons for his dedication to saving people. Gotant and Pebble go to a blacksmith looking for light armor Gotant can wear and Gotant purchases leather armor then gets the blacksmith to graft the dragon scales on. He also buys 108 rations for a total of 126 and as Gotant and Pebble go to leave they hear rumors of lots of crazies going across the seas to visit an island starting a couple days ago. They return to the blacksmith and find that he successfully grafted the scales onto the armor for a total of 18 AC. They return to the outside of the town where Gotant asks the rumor spreader from earlier for more information and they recommend asking around Blue Point Harbor. Gotant and Pebble start their voyage to Blue Point Harbor and on the way find a woman playing a lute. The lute player says she needs 40 rations which Gotant gives her, prompting her to play the lute very well and give Gotant the locate creature spell for 24 hours. Pebble insults her by calling her old, so she plays the loot again which gives him the curse of inconvenience. Gotant uses the locate creature spell to find Warner and Dequavious then finds Warner in a very far magical tower fighting for his life(natural 20!) and Dequavious in ruins surrounded by water with acolytes in robes. Gotant and Pebble then stumble upon a hole with a trading cart and a cave made by a bulette as an earthquake starts which sends Pebble on the trajectory for going straight into the bulette’s mouth. Pebble uses his book of chaos which teleports him on top of the bulette’s head but the bulette doesn’t see Pebble, so goes back into the ground only to surfaces again shortly after causing another earthquake. Pebble hops on Gotant’s back as Gotant runs away. After some time they encounter a traveler with a sickly goat. The traveler says he was cursed by the lute woman and needs to sell the goat for 50 gold to break the curse. Pebble gives the traveler 50 gold for the goat in exchange for naming his first born after Pebble causing the traveler to explode. The goat eats some of Pebble’s rations then poops, with Gotant shoving the goat more towards Pebble. Pebble steps in the goat defecation and gets it on his robes, prompting Pebble to name the goat Gotant Junior because it’s the thing that annoys Pebble the second most. Gotant, Pebble, and Gotant Jr. arrive in Blue Point Harbor then a crewmate directs Gotant to the Salty Seadog tavern to find passage. Gotant heads into the Salty Seadog tavern as he directs Pebble to find a vet for the goat. Pebble insults a pirate causing him to shoot Pebble’s leg then pays a crewmate 5 gold to be told to go back to the Salty Seadog for medical attention and goat care. Gotant approaches a turtle captain, Captain Shelly, who knows Matia’s Lament, where Dequavious is gathering his cult. Shelly says that Matia’s Lament has whirlpools around it that sink any ship that tries to cross it. The island was once a natural entity who was the lover of another natural entity, but it was killed by the god of chaos, Varlek, so its lover, Matia, tries to stop any travelers that try to go to it. The turtle says he can take Gotant across for 50 gold as Pebble barges through the tavern doors with Gotant Junior prompting pirates to stop him. Pebble insults them and refuses to leave Gotant Junior outside, so 3 pirates attack him. Pebble tries to use the book of chaos to attack them but the book sends Pebble to sleep. Pebble awakens to being stomped out by the 3 pirates as Gotant ties Gotant Junior outside. Pebble tries to kick one of them but misses which twists his leg the wrong way. Pebble gets knocked unconscious with Gotant standing by, trying to talk Pebble and the pirates down then Gotant ties Pebble to the same post as Gotant Junior. Gotant wakes up Pebble by shoving rations into his mouth and as soon as Pebble wakes up he keeps trying to argue with Gotant (wrongly)about why it’s the barkeep and pirates that started it and saying that Gotant should have helped him in the fight. Gotant goes back inside and discusses with Shelly about the voyage then agrees to the price of 50 gold for both ways as pebble unties himself. Gotant returns outside but Gotant Junior is not looking so good, so Gotant goes into the tavern again and Shelly calls one of his crew mates for help. Ryan Oosling, who is a blob of goo, comes over then puts some of his goo on Gotant Junior which heals him. Gotant shakes his hand and says thank you which makes him smile and heals Gotant a bit. Pebble reaches into his coat for his gold and finds that his gold pouch has a hole in it from the gunshot, causing all of the gold to have spilled out. Gotant and Pebble follow Pebble’s blood trail from the gunshot and find a crewmate who is playing with gold. Gotant and Pebble try to convince him to part with the gold but Pebble’s charisma does not work and he threatens the crewmate as his friends circle Pebble. Pebble offers a date with Gotant for his gold which Pebble and Gotant agree with then the crewmate gives 5 of the 55 pieces Pebble had to Pebble. Gotant and the crewmate go to the Salty Seadog for their date and Gotant and the crewmate, Yufore, have a nice date ending with him giving Gotant 50 gold, hugging him, and being really sweet. Gotant returns to Pebble, saying for Pebble to not get close so the curse doesn’t affect his gold then Pebble asks the book of chaos for cleaning as Gotant sprints to the other side of the boardwalk. The book completely removes Pebble’s clothing which elicits many cat calls from the pirates and a guard goes up to Pebble then asks how much Pebble’s “services” are, to which Pebble agrees to 55 gold. Gotant returns to the Salty Seadog then gives Shelly 50 gold with Shelly giving him a turtle shell to prove that he is a temporary member of the crew. Captain Leon Black Fur, the other captain in the bar, tries to offer Gotant gold for his Oathsworn but Gotant refuses. Gotant departs from the tavern to find a bugged out Gotant Junior(traumatized from watching Pebble’s deeds) and a very sore Pebble who is also 80 gold richer. Pebble gives Gotant all of his gold for safe keeping then Gotant looks for a bag of holding and finds the same crewmate who he went on a date with. Pebble tries to pimp Gotant out to him again but is distracted by Gotant Junior about to jump off the pier, still traumatized from Pebble’s “dealings.” Gotant pays 10 gold for information from the crewmate who tells Gotant that Leon Blackfur has a bag of holding but will not part with it easily. Gotant and the crewmate exchange hidden blown kisses then Leon Blackfur and his crew depart with Gotant’s lover. Gotant and Pebble go to Shelly’s ship, the Bahama Mama, and meet Easton who is the muscle. Shelly also introduces them to Greg, who is the lookout. Pebble trades 70 gold for “his own sleeping quarters” which ends up being the cargo area. Gotant Junior continues staring out into the sea, so Gotant ties him to the mast. Pebble continually insults the pirate crew prompting Easton to threaten him into submission then the ship departs heading to Matia’s Lament. A couple hours pass as Gotant and Pebble sleep then they walk above deck to find Gotant Junior had jumped off the ship many hours ago with Easton saying that he ate Gotant Junior in retaliation for Pebble saying he’s eaten elephant(although Ryan Oosling says he is lying). Easton picks Pebble up and holds him over the sea while Pebble barfs(natural 1 constitution) then the party find an overturned ship. Gotant fashions a grappling hook to bring supplies from it onto the ship and inside the crates are scrolls and obsidian rocks. The scrolls are written in the language of chaos and are the teachings of Varlek, exuding the same energy as Pebble’s book of chaos. Pebble wants to keep the scrolls but Shelly will not have them on his ship, so Gotant tosses them over then burns them with his flame spark. Gotant offers his and his knight’s services for manual labor jobs to earn more gold then they continue onwards. In the distance Gotant sees The Lionheart, Blackfur’s ship, coming towards the Bahama Mama ominously. The Lionheart and Bahama Mama meet as the episode ends.

The Lionheart approaches the Bahama Mama and Gotant suggests getting their lovers onto the Bahama Mama then sinking the Lion’s Heart with a fireball. Pebble protests saying the crew may have family which makes Gotant suspicious but he swings them both over regardless. Gotant tries to convince Yufore(his lover from last episode) to not attack and he softens. Gotant tells Easton to fight off any enemies that get onto the ship then tries again and Yufore says he will not attack Gotant if he does not attack him. Pebble casts a fireball but the book of chaos fails so it catches on fire while also catching the ship on fire. Piranha(Pebble’s ex lover) grapples him so Gotant slashes him to break the grapple. Pebble casts a sleep spell which sends Gotant and all the pirates to sleep, so Pebble kicks Gotant in the balls which wakes him. Gotant senses Leon Blackfur’s third captain and warns Easton just as Echo(the captain) was about to chop his head off. Pebble tries to convince Piranha to not attack him and Gotant but words it poorly so it only inspires Piranha to attack Gotant. Pebble tries to fireball but gets caught in the explosion sending him down to 1 health as Piranha attacks Gotant and grapples him. Pebble teleports Gotant and himself to the Bahama Mama and Gotant throws Yufore a rope but he says he wants to stay with his crew. Gotant and Pebble rest which removes Pebble’s curse and they wake up to the island. Shelly says that they will need to swim the rest of the way and that he will stay for 2 days but Gotant pays 10 gold to stay an extra half day then Shelly gives Gotant a flare gun. Gotant and Pebble swim ashore then notice a lot of robed figures heading deeper into the forest. Dequavious sends Pebble a message welcoming all followers of Varlek and saying to go to the center of the island for a ritual. Pebble can sense the strength of the disciples then picks out one. Gotant slices his head off but he gets back up and asks Gotant to pick a card. Gotant picks one which is the card of balance and makes Gotant much more morally neutral. Gotant gets annoyed from Pebble telling the acolyte too much so slashes down on Pebbles’s head. Pebble tries to kill the acolyte then he offers Gotant another card. Gotant takes it, pulling the card of the comet, making him feel more knowledgable. The acolyte says in Gotant’s next combat encounter he will level up. Pebble tries to kill the acolyte but instead lightning shoots from his book and kills a random acolyte on the other side of the island. The first acolyte goes away and another comes out, dispensing robes from his mouth. Pebble and Gotant put them on then Gotant checks his compass which reveals multiple strong magic users on the island. Shiki comes up next to Pebble and Gotant then upon questioning says that Yufore, Piranha, and Leon Blackfur are still alive. Pebble angers Shiki, so she runs away then they proceed further. Gotant stays near the back of the ritual so he can escape quickly and Pebble runs his mouth off so another magic user, Shana, uses chaos magic to cover his mouth with a spectral hand. Dequavious says Varlek is getting ready to return but Pebble tries to interrupt so Dequavious warns him then tells Shana to remove the hand. Pebble pisses Daquavius off so the man with cards asks Gotant to pick a card from his deck for Pebble’s punishment. Gotant draws the sun card which makes the Wolf’s Blood sword appear before Pebble then Daquavius says Warner is probably dying a very painful death and Pebble could return the sword to him but it would mean abandoning his mission. Pebble says he keeps trying to tame the book of chaos and asks for advice on doing so, making the others laugh. The others say that tamed chaos isn’t chaos then Pebble insults Dequavious. Pebble walks away with the Wolf’s Blood draining his life force then Gotant tries to take Pebble away. Dequavious says the meeting hasn’t started yet so Pebble will have to wait through it in pain as the Wolf’s Blood drains him. Gotant gets Pebble to drop it then the acolytes ask Gotant for a location to inflict chaos on. Gotant originally suggests somewhere non-populated but the chaos beings don’t buy it, so he says the Kingdom Of Talos because it is the most defensible place he can think of. One of the acolytes gives a thumbs down to Gotant but he manages to convince the group that it’s because of his body odor from swimming through the water. The meeting ends and Cassander reveals that they knew Gotant was a paladin the whole time. Dequavious is left alone talking with Shiki, so Gotant attacks Dequavious from behind. Gotant’s Oathsworn slashes through part of Dequavious’s neck but it doesn't go all the way through then Dequavious pulls it out as he heals his neck. Gotant slashes back down but Dequavious blocks it with his hand then tries to convert Gotant to his side but Gotant refuses. Gotant slashes down at Dequavious again which reveals his full chaotic form as swirls of chaos erupt from him which start to destroy the temple, trapping Pebble underneath rubble. Tendrils of chaotic energy start to rip apart reality around them then wrap around Gotant driving him mad(33 psychic damage) but Shiki stops Dequavious alluding to a deal he has with her. Shiki says Dequavious can go without Pebble or Gotant pursuing him for some weeks then Gotant saves Pebble from being crushed by rubble. Shiki advises Gotant to seek an artifact to defend against chaos since he is weak to it from being a paladin. Upon questioning, Shiki says her end goal is balance and she will make deals or bend rules to accommodate that then reveals the Wolf’s Blood can kill gods and that Warner would die without the Wolf’s Blood and Shiki’s deal. Shiki also reveals that the power to kill gods is why it drains so much life force and says that no person can wield it without dying. Gotant inquires about whether it would be possible to survive with 2 and Shiki says no one has tried that yet and also reveals both Pebble is older than her and Pebble’s family has a required duty to keep magical artifacts.

Pebble and Gotant start to travel to the Goldfoots with Pebble being apprehensive anticipating a lecture and Gotant being apprehensive because of how easily Daquavius defeated him. Eventually Gotant and Pebble come upon an obelisk that says the weather, that it is going to rain sometime during the day. Gotant can read it as it is in elvish but he chooses not to tell Pebble then they move on. They come upon a large crow feeding on a deer but move on and set up camp. They sleep then head on to the Goldfoot estate, where there is a huge meteor lodged in the house. Immediately after entering Gotant is hit with the pressure of magical energy but overcomes it(natural 20!) and they meet a centurion robot. The robot accepts them and Gotant finds an embarrassing picture of Pebble. The centurion creates a copy of the picture for Gotant then shows Gotant the artifacts. Eventually Rock Goldfoot comes down and Gotant feels compelled to kneel by his staff. Rock gives Pebble 5 words to explain himself which pebble chooses:”I had the sword. Gone.” Gotant tells Rock that Daquavius wants to destroy the world but Rock doesn’t want to intervene because he is only supposed to be a protector of artifacts. Gotant also tells Rock of all the artifacts Daquavius’s cult has, which troubles Rock and he retreats to his office to make a decision. Pebble grabs the Threads Of Time, the only magical artifact left unguarded that allows the user to find information about the death of anyone they choose, and learns Daquavius died from the wolves in the first episode but an entity of chaos gave him the Body Of Chaos which revives him without his normal personality. Pebble grabs the Threads Of Time again and finds that Gotant is fated to die during the siege of Talos then tells Gotant. Pebble then tries to find Warner’s time of death, seeing he has a year left. Gotant asks for Pebble’s death then sees Pebble stab his father and become a demon. Gotant immediately goes into Rock’s office to tell Rock then Rock tells Gotant that he is a demon and it is the curse of the Goldfoots to either die or become a demon. Rock says not all demons are chaos and evil then Gotant leaves. After some time, Rock asks if Gotant will be able to kill innocents to have the artifact and Gotant says if it’s required for the greater good he can. Rock brings Gotant and Pebble to a shade mirror which he says will take them to an artifact then leads them all through. Rock says Gotant needs to kill a powerful demon for the artifact then walks ahead. Gotant tells Pebble his fate of killing his father then a deep growl comes from ahead causing Pebble to jump onto Gotant’s back. Gotant goes forward to find a Hungerer who is a a massive mass of mouths constantly reaching out for something to eat. Gotant brings Pebble by the ear up to the mouth of the cave then sneaks up next to the beast and stabs it in combination with his knight(56 damage!). The Hungerer opens its mouth and consumes the knight then moves forward, with Gotant taking damage from the mouths and the Hungerer’s subsequent attack(22 damage). as it slams Gotant to a pillar, bites him, and tries to attack him again but Gotant blocks it. Pebble hits it with an eldritch blast so it tries to attack him but misses then Gotant moves behind it and sticks his sword up the hungerer’s hole(if it moves it will take damage). Pebble tries to attack with Eldritch blast but misses then the hungerer turns to Gotant, taking damage, and almost knocks Gotant off the edge. Pebble tries to make it sick but only causes it to hit Gotant with acidic bile which Gotant slips on then starts falling into the surrounding lava. Pebble uses his book of chaos to teleport Gotant above the hungerer, causing Gotant to drop from a large distance above it with his Oathsworn piercing the Hungerer in its brain, instantly killing it(76 damage!). Rock comes before the Hungerer and drains its life into his staff then returns them to the manor. Rock says he needs a couple hours to make the artifact then Gotant and Pebble rest. After meditation Rock gives Gotant an artifact called the Ravenous Ring that likes to eat magic and meat, so Gotant needs to keep feeding it or else he will be consumed and turned into a Hungerer. Gotant tries to cast flame spark to feed it but then finds he cannot cast it again. Gotant decides not to wear it for now but will once he gets to a forest where he can feed it wildlife. Gotant asks for Pebble to create a bag of infinite food then Gavino comes out giving Gotant a bag of dark energy. Gotant puts on the ring then holds it out towards the bag, which causes it to start eating innocent corpses inside the bag, making the gods displeased. Gotant asks to amend his request to have only evil or animal corpses but Gavino denies him and teleports away. Gotant casts flame spark on the bag then tosses it over the Goldfoots’ fence then tells Pebble his plans to scavenge the forests for creatures to keep in his bag to feed the Hungerer. Pebble says he stole an artifact that can create endless gold from his father, so they can just buy meat from the butcher but he will not use the artifact for any other purpose.

Gotant and Pebble were asked review questions and answered the questions correctly so earned 4 rerolls each.

Gotant finds his Oathsworn has dulled after displeasing the gods as they find themselves in the Altherian Woods. Gotant’s bag is now full with the corpses of all the forest animals when Pebble feels eyes watching him, so turns to  find a crow staring at him. He was extra perceptive(natural 20!) so finds the crow is a shapeshifter watching them. Gwen talks to Pebble and says that the woods are mad at Gotant, prompting Gotant to try to offer Pebble up to the forest. The forest responds that it can’t take Pebble then the crow lands in front of Gotant and Pebble, shapeshifting into a reaper,Gwenevieve. She asks Gotant why he is killing animals to which Gotant says he needs to for the ring with the reaper responding the guardian of the forest will be trying to kill them soon. Pebble tries to say that he is Gotant’s boss but Gotant picks him up and puts him in a tree then the reaper gives Pebble her card but Pebble pisses her off so she takes it back. Although Pebble has a very good memory, so can remember everything on it(natural 20!). Gotant tries to find a way out but finds the forest is shifting around them and his magical compass keeps switching directions. Gotant picks out that 3 trees around them are moving as 3 tree ents start approaching Gotant and block his exits with roots. They also root Gotant to the ground, as Pebble tries to extort Gotant to allow him to be Gotant’s boss. Gotant finally agrees under duress, prompting Pebble to cast a termite spell that eats the roots and tree ents. Gotant cuts through the 1 of the remaining roots then thinks he hears something in the distance as his sword gets stuck in another root cluster. Gotant continually tries to pull it out but to no avail as an undead bear comes charging out and attacks. Gotant slices at it with his dagger then holds out his ring to the bear and it recoils. Pebble heals the bear which makes it run away then Gotant frees his sword and asks Pebble for a spell to get through the remaining root cluster. Gotant uses his magical compass and it points to a root cluster which Gotant directs Pebble to blast through. Pebble does so and they proceed through, but they end up on the other side of the clearing. Gotant finds a button on each of the 3 trees and presses it which ends the loop as they exit. They come across a statue of a woman which seems unusually clean and Pebble realizes it is alive. Gotant presents the statue with a dead animal then the ground starts shaking. Vines lift Pebble up and wrap around his mouth as Altheria comes alive. Altheria drops Pebble and says that Gotant’s killing of animals is too much of a cost to defeat Daquavius and that a perfect punishment would be for him to wear a magical wooden tiara.Gotant puts it on and takes damage as Gotant’s forehead starts to bleed, revealing the tiara is a crown of thorns that will continually grow until it has claimed all of the blood of the animals that Gotant slayed. Gotant and Pebble leave the forest and are confronted with two dead knights and two horses who Gotant and Pebble ascertain were working together to fight Gavino. Gotant and Pebble get on the horses after smelling a burning village then come to it to find Gavino at the center. Gavino says he killed the town to provide meat for Gotant, so Gotant first checks for survivors(he finds none) tries to stab Gavino. Gavino summons a dragon from his robes from atop a building then Gotant runs and jumps up swinging his Oathsworn at Gavino, which sharpens in Gavino’s hand as he tries to block it with Gotant now back in favor with the gods. Pebble pets the dragon and tells it to attack Gavino as Gavino pulls a sword from his robes and clashes swords with Gotant. Pebble brings the dragon up to the roof and it breathes fire at Gavino which distracts him long enough for Gotant to rush forward with his ring to consume Gavino. Gotant commands the ring to throw back up the robe then Pebble picks up the robe and puts it on, realizing he can pull anything from it. Shiki appears and reveals Warner will die in Pebble’s arms then Pebble will kill his father. Pebble offers his Book Of Chaos to Shiki in exchange for giving Gwenevieve vacation time and elsewhere Shiki reads over the book for anything she can use to become the new full personification of death.

Gotant and Pebble wake up to realize they’re incredibly low on supplies but know there is a place nearby, the Ververian Village, and Gotant gets on his horse. Pebble tries to get Gotant to lift him up to his horse, but Gotant gets him to give a bag of holding in exchange which Gotant purifies with his paladin magic. Gotant and Pebble begin traveling but hear drinking and revelry from a party with dancing lights, which Gotant investigates to find fairies having a party with lots of food and drink. The fairies invite Gotant to a drinking competition but Gotant refuses, citing an allergy to fae food(he succeeded a history check to know not to eat or drink fae food and drink). They move on then come across a barbarian who sticks them up saying to pay them a toll. Gotant tries to ride past but the man kills Gotant’s horse, which Pebble uses to convince the barbarian to pay them 150 gold instead(NPC rolled a natural 1!). They move on to the Viverian Village then find a man who tells them the location of the shops as well as saying that serial killers will fit in well in the village after Pebble refers to Gotant as one. Gotant and Pebble go to the general store and find an attractive man named Beeris who Gotant asks out to the Gilded Cage Tavern. Beeris drops a coin for Gotant to bend over picking it up but Gotant puts his coat on first, so Beeris is disappointed. Gotant sees this and drops the coin again, obviously to bend over in front of him, prompting Beeris to say he needs to work on his acting. Gotant and Pebble inquire about rations but the shopkeeper says they only have medkits for 10 gold a piece(a full d12 of healing rather than a D4). Pebble insults and threatens the shopkeeper because the shopkeeper called him short, so the shopkeeper kicks him and Gotant out then calls security. Pebble still refuses to leave and barely avoids a punch at first but keeps going so the security knock him out then steal half his gold and his robe of chaos(all his clothing). Pebble gives Gotant his remaining gold from his prison pocket, with Gotant using his coat to hold it then Gotant goes into the store and tries to get Pebble’s clothes back. Pebble busts in saying that he only threatened the shopkeeper because he called Pebble short and The shopkeeper offers 120 gold for Pebble’s necklace and robe. Pebble buys back the robe and necklace then buys 10 medkits as his guard lets the shopkeeper know Big Tony has arrived. Gotant leaves the store then Pebble asks if the guard, Curtis, is inbred and the shopkeeper locks the door. He says he will only unlock it after Pebble apologizes then Pebble eventually apologizes. However, Pebble insults him again in quick succession, so Curtis punches him twice. Pebble gives them chocolate and apologizes again, but the guard says he is allergic and they will sell the chocolate. Pebble leaves the shop and Gotant leaves for the Guilded cage tavern as Pebble reveals the chocolate was a bomb. The guard comes out and asks if Pebble knew that the chocolate was an explosive and Pebble doesn’t convincingly say no, so the guard knocks him out again and takes all his gold. Gotant goes to the tavern but comes back a time later to find a beat up Pebble. A man named Mr. Monke shows up in a carriage and inquires about Gotant’s sword, but Gotant says it will only work for a paladin. Cassander shows up behind Pebble and Gotant then asks Pebble to draw a card. Pebble draws the fates card which allows him to stop his own death or rewrite any event he doesn’t like. Despite Gotant’s protests, Pebble uses the card to reset time from the time Gotant and Pebble entered the store. Gotant flirts with Beeris again, with Beeris asking if Pebble and Gotant have money. Beeris throws his coin at Gotant again but Gotant catches it this time, prompting Beeris to say Gotant is good with his hands. Pebble buys 10 medkits without insults this time, with the shopkeeper saying because they’re so polite he can tell them about a casino that happens at night in the Gilded Cage tavern as well as saying the big players:Mr. Monke, Big Tony, and Marcus Lecter. Gotant goes to the tavern and meets Beeris, who does a seductive lean in Gotant’s presence. Pebble asks the bartender for a room but the bartender says he’s asking too many questions. Pebble buys the strongest shot in the bar and gives the bartender an additional 5 gold for the information that there are rooms in the casino. Pebble becomes really drunk as the 3 big players come in, then Pebble talks to Beeris. Pebble asks him to not hurt Gotant then the bartender announces the casino is opening as a wall slides open behind him to reveal a stairway. Gotant follows the bartender down the stairs, assisting Pebble down as well. Gotant tries to help Beeris cheat in cards but realizes that magic is stopping him from seeing all player cards then Gotant moves to the prizes and sees the coin of draconic luck which allows a reroll if it lands on heads, a fairy pipe which creates illusions, a heart of the storm that allows resurrection with a spark spell, a pocket portal which teleports the user somewhere safe, a skeleton key which can open any lock, the spirit lantern which lets off an eerie blue glow that allows sight through magical darkness, and a boomstick which acts a shotgun with knockback. Pebble gives Gotant 500 gold to gamble with then they move to Beeris’s table. Gotant suggests Pebble, Gotant, and Beeris split the gold they win, but Beeris says Gotant can have his share if Gotant goes to his room. The bartender has them play 3 fingers(highest cards win) and Beeris folds at 175 while Gotant and Pebble both keep going. Pebble wins the game with 30(all face cards), getting 695 gold. Gotant and Pebble play again with Pebble folding at 165 and Gotant winning with 30 poinst(all face cards) for 1000 total net winnings. Gotant and Pebble enter again but instead for lower hands winning. Beeris, Gotant, and Pebble check the first round, Pebble folds the second round, and the dealer raises 50 which Gotant checks. Gotant got a joker(counts for nothing) and two 4s, so he won against the dealer for a total of 2000 gold. Gotant and Pebble enter into a Love Is In The Air game where the lowest card wins and there has to be at least 1 heart in the ending deck. Gotant raises 250 because he got 2 aces of hearts and Pebble checks the first round, Gotant raises to 550 then Pebble raises 580 the second round, Gotant and Pebble both call with Gotant winning 2740 with his 2 aces and a 3. Big Tony comes over and puts down 1000 for the winner with Diamonds In The Sky-Must only have diamonds at the end and highest hand wins. Gotant and Pebble check the first round, Gotant and Pebble check the second round, then Pebble and Gotant fold because they didn’t have diamonds, losing 3000 gold. Big Tony puts down another 1000 for Club Life where the highest hand wins and the ending hand has to be all clubs. Gotant, Pebble, Beeris, and the dealer check first round, Gotant folds, Pebble checks and Beeris folds second round, then Pebble calls and the dealer calls last round with Pebble winning 2000 for having 3 clubs while the dealer didn’t have 3 clubs. Pebble notices that Beeris is getting sickly because he is gambling with his life force then Big Tony puts in 1000 for the next game. Beeris buys into the next game, claiming that Cassander told him there will be consequences if he doesn’t play, and Gotant and Pebble both buy in as well. The rules of the game are cards must be spades, highest hand wins, and if a joker is pulled the player must immediately forfeit(but may make a sleight of hand check to replace it). Gotant calls and Pebble is forced to folds because he pulled a joker first round. Beeris tries to sweet talk Gotant into losing the game for him, but Pebble ascertains that Beeris is a player only taking Gotant for his money(natural 20!) and tells Gotant to be ruthless. Gotant raises 50 four times for the game’s limit then wins for 5,100 gold with a king, queen, and jack of spades(highest cards possible!) as Beeris dies and Big Tony gets people to cart his body off. Big Tony offers Gotant bounty work because he was so ruthless with Beeris and Gotant accepts as long as the people deserve it. Big Tony says they will deserve it because they owe him money and alludes to the person being a holy person, so Gotant refuses. Pebble says he has no problem with killing debtors or holy people, so accepts the contract for 500 gold and Big Tony’s flattery of calling Pebble tall. Only then Big Tony says the person to kill is the same priest that sent Gotant on his quest in Welton, Mericson, and that Pebble needs to kill him or get 30,000 gold off of him(which he does not have). Gotant buys the heart of the storm for himself to be able to survive the siege of Talos then Pebble goes to a luxurious hotel room while Gotant goes to the stables. Cassander meets him and Gotant draws the card of balance which Gotant can use to regain favor with the gods. Gotant asks about Cassander’s cards to which he explains that the cards give only what people need then leaves. Gotant quickly goes back to the casino to buy the fairy pipe intending to create an illusion of Mericsons’s head then Pebble gives Gotant his 2550 gold for safe keeping.

Gotant and Pebble were asked review questions with Gotant getting 3 inspiration points and Pebble getting 2.

Gotant wakes up to find the rich folks are leaving in their carriages then goes to the supply store. He tries to barter for some muscle but leaves empty handed then goes to the inn looking for Pebble. Gotant convinces the inn keeper to let him into the room without waking Pebble then finds 2 women in bed with him(a “gift” from Big Tony). Gotant wakes the women and tells them Pebble has a boyfriend who is actively dying to protect Pebble, prompting them to leave, then holds his Hungerer ring out to Pebble with it eating Pebble’s nose. Pebble yells out for help prompting security to bust into the room and the security assumes Gotant is the VIP because he has a fancy sword and is not naked. Pebble runs into the bathroom under the excuse of needing to get dressed then blocks the door, but the security uses a skeleton key to unlock it then bust their way in. Pebble unsuccessfully tries to convince the security that he is the VIP then jumps out the window and gets onto his horse, but Gotant sprints after him full speed(natural 20!). Gotant catches Pebble’s leg and holds his ring out to Pebble, which starts devouring him and his robe of chaos. Pebble summons a dragon which Gotant stabs in the head then dodges a blast from then Pebble tries to ride off on it but it dematerializes from Gotant sucking the chaos energy of the robe. Gotant tries to finish Pebble but Shiki catches his blade before inquiring why they are fighting, with Gotant explaining Pebble is trying to kill Mericson. Shiki says Gotant can do anything besides killing Pebble, so he chops off Pebble’s arm but Shiki gives Pebble a tentacle arm from the book of chaos. Shiki accidentally lets slip that she is trying to replace death and that the reason she saved Pebble is that if Pebble dies she loses the book. Pebble offers an alternate deal where Shiki can keep the book when he dies as long as Shiki kills Gotant prompting Shiki to link Gotant and Pebble’s life energy. She stays with Gotant and Pebble to make sure Gotant doesn’t kill Pebble, conjures Pebble some clothes with the book of chaos, and delivers the news of Pebble sleeping with 2 women to Warner at Gotant’s request. Gotant and Pebble eventually come across a village infected with a chaos plague which Gotant wants to investigate, but the notion annoys Shiki. Pebble drags Gotant along with the group coming to Welton and Gotant recognizing the wolves protecting the town. Gotant sees the lights from Flame and Bolt, so approaches them to find Avicci the wolf pup. Gotant talks with Flame and Bolt for a bit then the group goes to the Shepherd’s Crook tavern. Father Mericson walks in and talks with Gotant then Pebble asks about the money he owes to Big Tony. Pebble agrees to wait until Mericson is done with his meeting as Gotant feels someone watching him. Pebble feels chaos energy radiating from across the room, as a young girl accosts Pebble and Gotant. The girl reveals that she was rescued from the chaos plague and is now an orphan then continually insults Pebble which wins Gotant and Shiki over. Pebble accuses her of being a cult member from Matia’s Lament after she says her name is Shana then Gotant remembers Shiki said there is a cult of chaos member nearby(natural 20 history check!) when they came to the town. Mericson finishes with his meeting then comes over to Pebble. Pebble offers 1500 gold for him to pay Big Tony. Gotant makes an arcana check to see Mericson’s  intentions and finds that Mericson’s magic is purely good, but also detects a bit of chaos magic elsewhere. Pebble reveals he is a Goldfoot which causes Mericson to idolize him then Pebble offers to have Mericson sign the deed to his church over to him, which Mericson goes along with despite Gotant’s protests. Pebble says in return he will sell some of his family’s artifacts to earn gold for Mericson's bounty. Gotant tells Mericson of Dequavious and that Shana is a secret cult member from Matia’s Lament, but Mericson is not sure about Shana. When prompted to talk about Dequavious’s power he reveals that he is the reason Daquavius fell to chaos. Dequavious’s magic was weak and he was ridiculed for it, so Mericson turned to dark magic to make his magic strong and win the adoration of the town in the process. Mericson summoned Varlek who took Dequavious’s body despite his protests, so Mericson feels very guilty and starts crying then says if he needs to die for moral reasons he will accept it. Gotant decides not to kill Mericson because it will not change the past and the decision was selfish but good intentioned, which causes the gods to be more in favor with him. Gotant tells Mericson about Shana again and says that they should make sure he is in attendance before Shana is allowed to do anything then Gotant and Pebble confront Shana. Pebble senses chaos magic around her but with no ill intent until Pebble starts to make her angry. Shiki becomes nervous and it’s revealed her chaos energy only triggers when she is enraged. Pebble tries to rent a sheep to return to his father’s house but he and Gotant need to rest first. Gotant wakes up early then goes to the church, putting on holy robes to mask his appearance then awaiting Shana. Pebble insults Shana on her way to the church then makes his way to the church himself. Pebble gets crotchety and curses in the church, so Shana leads him to a pew and offers to read to him if he can’t as they observe Father Mericson’s sermon. Mericson confesses that he underwent judgement but the gods(Gotant) were merciful, with the moral of the speech that even bad actions can be redeemed through pursuit of good. Mericson reveals that Pebble now owns the church, so Pebble gives a short semi-incoherent speech about changes coming to the church: Artifacts of great power are going to be held in the church with them taking up half of the property, which angers Shana and confuses Mericson. Pebble adds he will keep his Book Of Chaos in the church(among other horrible proclamations), which angers Shana even more and chaos energy continues to surge out of her as Shana tries to get Pebble to leave. Pebble says it is his church and the church service will be canceled today, so she will not be able to perform her singing for the church which pushes Shana over the edge. Shana’s hand of chaos appears from above her and smoke starts to spew from it, spreading the chaos plague that ravaged the town Gotant and Pebble came across previously. Pebble tries to barter with her for the artifact with Shana revealing she didn’t choose her artifact and she only needed one more day of tranquility to overcome the chaos as the hand of chaos starts choking Pebble. Gotant tries to talk Shana down, placing a hand on her shoulder. He takes damage from it but successfully talks her down then consults Shiki of how to disarm the artifact and save the townspeople. Shiki says the only way to stop the artifact and the death happening around them is to chop off her arm which causes Shana to be more distressed. Gotant tries to talk her down while making a deal with Shiki for him to not kill Pebble if she saves Shana, but Pebble scares Shana by wanting to chop off her hand. She runs off then Gotant approaches Mericson who is on death’s door as he explains that Shana can be saved. Shana had been kidnapped in her youth, with her arm being chopped off in the process, before the hand of chaos found her and attached to her amputated arm. If Gotant and Pebble take off the right arm of chaos she will be stopped, but that will require her to place a great deal of trust in them. Mericson knows his wounds are fatal and asks for Gotant to mercy kill him, so Gotant beheads him and Pebble grabs his head as proof for Big Tony. Gotant pulls out his magical compass which points to where Shana is but Gotant and Pebble anger Shiki, so she whisks them off to somewhere else with the Book Of Chaos.

Gotant and Pebble are teleported into a forest where they find Shana who runs away from them. Gotant catches her and grabs her arm, trying to convince her that he means no harm when suddenly Shana explodes into a cloud of chaos which causes darkness to envelop Pebble and Gotant . Gotant and Pebble find themselves in the village of Needlehime,where they meet Shana’s parents. They introduce themselves and Shana comes out of a barn, with Gotant inquiring about Shana’s background. Gotant and Pebble realize the sun is a completely black void then go inside Shana’s family house and are treated to great hospitality. Gotant and Shana gang up on Pebble, with Pebble lying 3 times so Shana returns with “liar’s soap” for Pebble to eat as punishment. Pebble eats a bite of the soap which makes him sick and he throws up on Gotant, prompting Gotant to hug him with the throw up on him. Shana’s family kicks them out until they’ve showere, so. Gotant and Pebble wash themselves off then play with Shana some. Bandits arrive at the farmhouse as Shana’s mother calls her back into the house. Gotant prepares for a fight by summoning his knight then tries to hit the bandits with divine smite but misses them. Pebble summons skeleton warriors then bandit leader orders his men that were hiding behind the farm to set it on fir.  Gotant gets hit with an arrow to the knee, so pulls it out then moves to the house but a chaos enigma stops him. Gotant and his knight attack the chaos enigma and the enigma attacks back with a chaos orb which Gotant uses his ring to block some of. Pebble summons Gwen to summon a shockwave which paralyzes everyone but the enigma then his skeleton warriors attack.  Pebble moves closer to the enigma and attacks it with his separate skeleton warrior then Gotant and his warrior attack the enigma and Gotant takes a first aid kit. The chaos enigma lowers gravity causing Gotant, Pebble, and Pebble’s skeleton warrior to float. Gotant realizes if they disrupt the enigma’s concentration the spell will be disrupted and Pebble tries to attack him but fails. Pebble uses his scarf of chaos to summon an anchor then uses his rope to tie Gotant and his skeleton warrior down. Gotant uses divine smite which misses and gets his guardian to attack the enigma(natural 20 and natural 8 on D8!) which disrupts its concentration. The chaos enigma heals itself and sends out a shockwave then Pebble tries to send out his dragon but fails to pull him completely out. Pebble uses the dragon’s head like a flamethrower to kill all of the bandits then gets his skeleton warrior to attack the chaos enigma. Gotant charges forward and attacks the chaos enigma, prompting the bandits that set the fire to try to attack Gotant. The enigma attacks Gotant as Shana crawls towards a hole her parents made for her to escape. Pebble uses his dragon to bite off the head of the bandit that attacked Gotant then Gotant finishes the enigma. Gotant’s guardian slices the wood of the house which releases hot air and kills the guardian then Gotant charges into the house and takes Shana out of her hole. He carries her out just as the house collapses and Varlek appears to Shana with Shana now resenting Gotant and the bandits for her parents dying. Shana says she wants to kill the bandits and Varlek offers her his arm. Shana rips her arm off and attaches the arm of chaos to herself then watches as the fire spreads around her once peaceful village. Gotant and Pebble find themselves next to an unconscious Shana and Gotant decides to cut off her arm to prevent future chaos. Gotant cuts her arm off but unfortunately cuts her neck in the process, causing her to bleed out. Pebble cuts off his arm and grabs the arm of chaos just as Gotant is about to smite it. Pebble puts it on, instantly growing physically stronger and allowing him to summon the chaos plague, then Shiki appears and doesn’t believe that Pebble didn’t kill Shana. She warns Pebble he will be Varlek’s next vessel if he keeps collecting chaos artifact and Pebble tries to take off his robe of chaos to prove that he is not being corrupted, but it will not come off. Pebble angers Shiki which causes her to go away then Pebble and Gotant split up. Pebble heads to Viverian Village to collect Mericson’s bounty while Gotant heads toward Welton to make sure the wolves are alright.

Pebble starts traveling to the Ververian Village when he gets a whisper in his ear from Shana’s ghost asking why Gotant killed her. Pebble tries to blame it all on Gotant but Shana doesn’t buy it and calls him weak then causes the arm of chaos to be painful for Pebble. Pebble stops by the general shop and buys 8 medkits while also getting the feeling he is walking into a trap from the merchant’s words.

Gotant arrives at Welton then finds Flame and Bolt troubled and they point him to the church where there are snarling noises. Gotant climbs up onto the roof and finds that there are chaos zombies trying to make their way out of the church, with one zombie making a heavy hit that puts stress on the door.

Pebble arrives in the casino then finds Big Tony with Curtis(the guard from the general store). Pebble reveals that he killed the whole village, which impresses Big Tony but then reveals he knows that it was Shana who killed everyone and that Gotant was the one who killed Mericcson, so only pays Pebble 15 gold for the kill and the deed to the church. Big Tony also says that Pebble needs to lead him to his family home, kill his father, then take over the family home and sell the artifacts. Pebble tries to leave to go to the bathroom but the security don’t let him leave.

Gotant climbs down from the roof and tells the wolves to run away then sets fire to the church. Gotant reinforces the church door as the zombies bash against it then summons his knight which also reinforces the door. Gotant casts flames on two more parts of the building then gets his knight to reinforce the door from the zombie attacks again.

Pebble asks to use the bathroom again and Curtis says he can but only while he watches him, so Pebble goes to the bathroom and lets out a massive poop which impresses Curtis. Curtis hands Pebble a steak knife to cut the poop so it can flush then forces Pebble’s hand to do so with his own. Pebble tries to hit Curtis with an eldritch blast while his back is but nothing happens then Pebble returns to the table with Big Tony.

Gotant and his knight watch the church burn down as the chaos zombies inside burn with it but then the zombies rise while still on fire, so Gotant charges forward. Gotant misses with his whirlwind but his knight hits them. The zombies do fire damage but miss with their actual attack then his guardian attacks them. Gotant uses his whirlwind to kill 3 of the zombies then uses his whirlwind again to kill 2 more. But just as he does so the zombies he slayed start to get up.

Pebble starts to argue with Big Tony, but looks distressed so Big Tony offers to give him a day off. Big Tony gets news of the church burning to the ground, so says that Pebble owes him 500 gold. Pebble says that his father will pay off the 500 gold, prompting Big Tony and Pebble to get into a carriage heading for Pebble’s family house.

Gotant cuts off the heads of the 2 zombies that he knocked out then knocks out another while commanding his knight to cleave 2 then the knight moves further into the building. Gotant cuts off the head of the one he knocked out then tries to attack another but fails. The knight attacks and knocks out 2 then cuts one’s head off. Gotant’s knight takes down one of the zombies and cuts its head off in the process(natural 20!) as 6 more come from deeper in the church.

Pebble has been in the carriage listening to Curtis regale the party with the tale of Pebble’s poop and offers to tell it again but Pebble interrupts saying they are at the Goldfoot estate. Big Tony makes Pebble put on a necklace to suppress his magic and Curtis knows Pebble didn’t tie it correctly, but says that if Pebble goes on a date with him he will not tell Big Tony. Pebble accepts, then the centurion robot greets Pebble and Big Tony’s crew at the gate. The centurion says that Rock Goldfoot is not able to be seen right now and Big Tony says that if Pebble does not allow him entrance they will break his legs. Pebble successfully convinces the centurion(natural 1 on the centurion) but the centurion is still apprehensive. Big Tony requests Pebble get his father then Curtis hits Pebble in the knee with a hammer. Pebble goes upstairs to find his father then knocks on his door. His father opens the door and Big Tony’s crew files in.

Gotant takes down the zombie next to him and cuts off his head then runs. Shiki appears to Gotant and asks where Pebble is, then is distressed hearing Pebble is being held hostage and teleports away to find him. Gotant uses divine smite to bring the church down on the zombies then runs far away, tripping on Avicci the wolf pup on the way back. Gotant pets him before going to a nearby forest and resting. Upon waking, Cassander shows up and tells Gotant Pebble’s latest dealings then says Gotant and Pebble are playing into Daquavius’s hands by Gotant allowing Pebble to do stupid things. Gotant meditates and has a vision of the meteor on the Goldfoot estate having an explosion that kills people within many miles then hops down from his tree and heads towards the Goldfoot Estate. 

Pebble’s father sits behind his desk, confused as to why Pebble is there with his gangsters. Pebble explains, prompting Rock to rightly assess that Pebble is completely inept. The gangsters tell Rock of Pebble’s giant poop, with rock not being amused, then Rock says if the gangsters want to they can kill him. He puts his head on the table and throws his staff aside then offers Pebble to kill him and end the world. Pebble picks up his staff and swings at Big Tony, which causes him to vanish. Pebble says that he cannot kill his father then Curtis tries to attack him, but Pebble dodges. The henchmen say Pebble needs to bring Big Tony back or he is dead then count down to shooting Pebble’s dad. Pebble doesn’t do it in time, so the henchman shoots Rock in the head. Pebble hits the henchman in the leg then gets shot in the shoulder. Pebble shakes the necklace suppressing his magic off then uses his arm of chaos to shoot a bolt of energy that disintegrates one henchman and shoves his hand down Curtis’s throat, exploding him with chaos energy. Rock sits up from the table, saying he’s glad Pebble finally did something on his own and pulled the bullet out of his head. Pebble inquires about where Big Tony went, so Rock grabs his staff and reveals Pebble sent him to Blue Point Harbor then grounds Pebble, with the gravity around Pebble increasing and forcing him to the ground.

Gotant and Pebble were asked review questions and earned 3 inspirations.

Gotant arrives at the Goldfoot estate and tries to enter, with The Librarian greeting him and asking about Avicci. It prompts Gotant to get food for him, which Gotant accepts and also says they should get food for him(hearing Pebble calling out while still grounded). Gotant and Avicci eat then go to Rock’s office to find Pebble on all fours and tearing up. Gotant and Avicci sit on Pebble then The Librarian takes a picture and Pebble explains the Big Tony situation. A knock on the door causes Rock and The Librarian to come back to Rock’s office and release Pebble. Pebble uses too many words so Rock uses magic to silence him then it’s revealed the visitor is a demon who wants to make a deal with Pebble. The demon says its leader captured Warner and the Wolf’s Blood and will give it back if Gotant and Pebble complete a quest in Umbra Village. Gotant and Pebble depart to meet with the demon’s leader, Lady Hornet, with Rock saying that this is Pebble’s final chance to retrieve the Wolf’s Blood. Rock gives the group rations then they depart in Big Tony’s self-driving carriage. Gotant and Pebble talk on the way then arrive in the Umbra Village where they are told to meet with Lady Hornet in the tavern. Gotant pays the bartender to put extra alcohol in Pebble’s wine then Pebble downs a glass in one causing Pebble to get very drunk(4 constitution). The imps surrounding Lady Hornet say they need to bow and Gotant does but Pebble says he may fall over. Pebble eventually bows and takes a seat next to Lady Hornet. Pebble angers Lady Hornet which causes him to instantly sober up and Pebble pisses her off again so he wets himself. Lady Hornet says Warner was caught sleeping in her tower and under torture he told her everything about the deal with Shiki. Lady Hornet says she needs someone to handle problems in Umbra Castle then asks if Gotant is Pebble’s human. Pebble says yes and slaps Gotant then Gotant hits him with the hilt of his sword. Lady Hornet is unimpressed with Pebble’s control of Gotant and Gotant plays along to say Pebble is an inattentive owner. Lady Hornet offers for Gotant to be her pet and he says no then Pebble tries to leave while insulting her. Lady Hornet pulls him back with her whip and stabs him with her stiletto then tightens the whip which makes Pebble erect and Lady Hornet very angry. She gets the imps to bring garden shears and Gotant pulls down Pebble’s pants then Lady Hornet says Pebble has one last chance to apologize. Pebble barely does so in time before he chokes from the whip and she releases him then dislocates Warner’s shoulder. Pebble takes off his pants and puts on new ones, eliciting cat calls from the werewolves around then Gotant reveals Pebble’s cheating on Warner. Pebble tries to justify cheating on Warner and says he may form a relationship with Lady Hornet as well then they arrive at Umbra Castle. Pebble says for Gotant to attack the ghouls at the entrance of the Umbra Castle, so Gotant pushes him forward into them. Pebble eviscerates a ghoul and Gotant does the same then they move into the castle. Gotant slays a ghoul with his sword and Pebble eldritch blasts one then they do the same moves to finish the remaining ghouls. Gotant and Pebble proceed and a giant bat swings down at Pebble and Gotant then Gotant and his knight try to pincer attack him but fail because it can fly. Pebble hits it with a blast which grounds it and it tries to swoop Gotant but misses. Gotant’s knight hits it with his mace then the bat swoops on Gotant’s knight. Gotant attacks the bat with his Oathsworn, permanently grounding it and causing it to recoil(34 damage!), then Pebble uses a wall of fire to set it ablaze. Pebble tries to call Gotant his pet but Gotant threatens him and says he can dodge Pebble’s wall of fire. Gotant pushes Pebble into a room which contains a vampire feeding and Pebble flees quickly but the vampire follows. Gotant swings at the vampire but misses and the vampire tries to feed on Gotant(Natural 1) but dies from Gotant’s holy blood. Gotant patches up his wound and starts to feel a little different then Pebble tries to push Gotant into the next room but fails so Gotant uses his whirlwind attack while holding Pebble to spin throw him into the next room. Pebble slays three ghouls inside then comes back out. Gotant checks out his wound and finds it is scabbing over then Pebble and Gotant go upstairs into the Hallway Of Blood. Gotant investigates the scene correctly(natural 20) and pieces together that a hero came through to slay the lord of the castle then Gotant and Pebble come across a woman, Alias Highlander, who asks who they are and gets less apprehensive seeing Gotant’s Oathsworn. Pebble reveals they are helping Lady Hornet which makes her angry and she tries to spear Pebble then Pebble tries to use a wall of fire but she dispels it with her spear and tries to spear Pebble again. Pebble uses an eldritch blast on Alias then she uses a fire attack with her spear. Pebble turns on the coffin and uses a stop time spell then tries to untie the coffin  but fails. Pebble uses a fire wall and pushes it towards Alias and Gotant. Gotant dodges then uses his knight to try to attack Pebble but it misses, hitting one of the chains on the coffin. Gotant throws Alias at Pebble then Pebble uses a time spell and tries to loosen the binds. Gotant tries to stick his sword between Pebble’s cheeks but misses and the vampire breaks free. It drains all of the blood from Alias then gives Gotant and Pebble a medallion to return to Lady Hornet with. Pebble and Gotant do so, with Pebble giving her the medallion then Lady Hornet says the Highlander clan has been hunting vampires for a long time and they were almost just successful. Lady Hornet uses an arcane key to unlock Warner’s bindings then he walks over to Pebble. Warner is a shell of who he used to be and only speaks with permission from Lady Hornet. Gotant reveals Pebble wanted to marry Lady Hornet and she is angered by Pebble saying he is a match for her then she says she’d love to break Pebble. Pebble breaks Warner’s arm back into place, which impresses Lady Hornet, then Gotant grabs Warner and starts leading him out. Lady Hornet gives Gotant a business card and says if he wants he can be her pet then Gotant asks Lady Hornet about the consequences of the Book Of Chaos being in possession of a reaper. Lady Hornet demands the name of the reaper who has it and Gotant resists her influence and says it is Gwenevieve. Pebble, Gotant, and Warner go to the carriage and Pebble asks for privacy but Gotant refuses and extorts Pebble for gold to get the carriage started. Pebble gives Gotant 80 gold and he starts the carriage again then the group arrives at the Goldfoot estate and The Librarian is satisfied Pebble returned with the Wolf’s Blood then Gotant tries to touch the sword but fails. Gotant says it is Pebble’s job to bring the sword back so Pebble grabs it then brings it inside. Rock claps his hand with a smile and says he can finally start turning things around.

The Librarian heals Warner’s wounds when Pebble and Gotant hear a knock on the door. Pebble disrespects Gotant so Gotant throws him at the door then they open it to reveal Shiki. Shiki asks about Warner retrieving an artifact from a demon tower then tasks Gotant and Pebble with getting it. Gotant reveals Pebble cheating on Warner and Pebble tries to claim they were broken up but Warner calls his lies. Warner is heartbroken while Pebble tries to keep making excuses and Warner says that maybe he should just go if Pebble doesn’t want him. Warner says for Gotant to take care of Pebble then Shiki takes his life upon his request. Gotant demands more information on the artifact and says that they will be going to the Tower Of Duraga then retrieving the Crown Of Duraga. Gotant feels uneasy about Shiki skirting his questions then presses Shiki to reveal the crown will allow her to become the new death. Shiki imbues the Oathsworn with death energy so that his next 2 fights will be one hit kills. Gotant and Pebble jump through the portal then Gotant throws Pebble at the door. Gotant roots out a no trespassing sign which marks them as trespassers and summons an imp that questions them. Gotant convinces him to not tell Lady Hornet then Pebble says they are trespassing and he hates Lady Hornet for insulting him. This appeals to the imp and he leaves then Pebble and Gotant advance through the tower. Gotant and Pebble come across a hallway shrouded mostly in darkness and push each other into the darkness taking 10 damage. They proceed further and brick walls form around them with a message saying “keep your eye here to proceed” so Gotant looks at it while walking backwards which works and they end up in the next room. Gotant punches Pebble while trying to grab him(because of the madness) then Pebble tries to stab Gotant with a sword. Gotant tries to stab him back but fails then they go up the stairs to find a talking door that says they need to put a weapon that has slayed great warriors on his hand. Gotant and Pebble try a couple then put a weapon called the Peacemaker in the hand which it accepts. They proceed upstairs and start fighting each other from the madness then they come across a mass of darkness that tries to attack Gotant but he dodges. Gotant attacks but gets his dagger and hand stuck then Pebble fires a freeze blast. Gotant frees himself then stabs it with his dagger and the darkness tries to attack Gotant and Pebble but fails. Gotant stabs the madness again then it sucks Gotant in again but he breaks free. Gotant switches his sword to the hand with the Hungerer ring then Pebble shoots a fireball at it which melts it. The madness tries to grapple Gotant but fails then tries to bite Gotant and fails again. Gotant tries to attack but it bites him and Pebble fireballs it and him. Pebble succumbs to madness and fireballs Gotant for a lot of damage(29) then Gotant heals with medkits and charges behind Pebble. Gotant kills Pebble with his 1 hit kill Oathsworn then checks the next door for a riddle. There are 6 questions: 1. What has a golden head, a golden tail, and no body? Gotant answers a gold coin. 2. It wears a leather coat to keep its skins in working order. Escorts you to other realms without a magic portal. Gotant tries a couple then finally responds with a book. 3. Towns without houses, forests without trees, mountains without bolders, and borderless seas. Gotant answers a map. 4. An untiring servant carrying loads across muddy earth. One thing that cannot be forced is a return to the place of its birth.

Pebble is in the afterlife and sees Warner asking about whether Pebble will make better choices if he trades his soul for Pebble’s.

Gotant answers a river. 5. It can pierce the best armor and make swords crumble with a rub but for all its power it can’t harm a club. Gotant answers rust. 6. Lips without a body, hears without ears, speaks without a mouth, to which the air alone gives it birth. 

Shiki appears before Pebble and says she doesn’t like it but because Pebble says he will change, because of the contract, and because Warner pledged his soul he can come back. Pebble wakes up and answers “echo” to the riddle then proceeds to the stairs. Pebble says he needs to be nice now then apologizes for his misdeeds. The adventurerers check out the 4 windows to find one representing dancing, singing, writing, and partying. Gotant dances and Pebble sings then Gotant writes a poem about Pebble’s change of heart(Turning a new leaf, to a good person from a thief, squashing the beef) while Pebble drinks and the way up opens.

Before Session

We answered the review questions correctly, so Gotant earned 5 inspirations for bringing his own character and pebble earned 4.

Pebble observes the room and finds there are shadows slowly creeping in each round then Pebble casts a light spell(natural 20!) which lowers the Madness’s armor. Gotant and his knight attack then Gotant blesses his dagger which gives more light and the madness tries to extinguish it. Pebble summons his chaos dragon and it breaths fire at the madness which also eliminates more of the darkness then fireballs it himself. Gotant divine smites the madness,which disappears, then Gotant divine smites the darkness closest to the stairs. The madness respawns at the only remaining darkness and Pebble attacks it with his dragon. The madness deflects half of the fire then Pebble fireballs it. Gotant divine smites the corner the madness is in then the madness attacks his knight. Pebble attacks the darkness with his boomstick then gets his dragon to dive bomb the madness while spewing fire. Gotant and his knight attack simultaneously then the madness attacks Gotant and knocks down Pebble’s dragon. Pebble summons lava then throws it at the madness which kills it and it cannot respawn. Gotant and Pebble quibble a little bit but Pebble resists attacking Gotant then Gotant meditates to not be mad. Gotant and Pebble head upstairs to find a camping tent with a fire then Pebble searches things. Gotant bathes with the wash tent then Pebble eats the food. They head up the stairs to find a room with 9 pressure plates and a picture of a target on the door. Gotant and Pebble stand on the right pressure plates(the elements that the figure is composed of)  for the first one then a new symbol appears. Gotant and Pebble go through the cycle 2 more times then ascend up the stairs. They find a large piano then hear music as a voice says play the song of the dead. Gotant presses the D, E, A, and D keys then the door opens. They ascend to find another madness fighting Gwendai. Gwendai is not pleased but Gotant keeps behind her as Gwendai shoots fiery skulls at the beast. Pebble helps her as she is grappled by the beast then she runs upstairs. Pebble uses Gwen to reverse time then it goes back to when Gwendai was tackled. Pebble summons lava and forms it around Gwendai and the madness then kills them both with it(natural 20!). Gotant and Pebble ascend the stairs then find a wide open room with a mirror maze. Gotant and Pebble proceed in, then Gotant eventually finds 2 buttons. Gotant summons his knight and gets him to stand on 1 button then put his mace on the other then Pebble finds the way to another button which opens a door for Gotant. Gotant goes through to find another button and places a weapon from one of the previous floors on it. It opens a door Pebble goes through to find a pressure plate then connects with Gotant who stands on a pressure plate next to his. The door opens and Pebble and Gotant ascend then find a man reading a book. He points them to the next staircase and reveals he is death. Death reveals Shiki is tired of working under him so thinks she needs to seize power, but he would be willing to give it up. Gotant asks death if he would give up his power voluntarily but he says no then a reaper named Gore appears to death. Gore says he’s been trying to convince death to give up his power but he has been refusing then death says that he is tired but wants to die in the blaze of glory. Death reveals he doesn’t even remember what his name is because he has been death for so long then Pebble says that he is so sad he wants to die. Death doesn’t respond but his silence reveals to Gore that Pebble is correct. Gotant asks for Shiki’s resume which death hands over and he learns that Shiki has lived many lives(6) with her becoming a reaper giving her a sense of justice. Death reveals that there are many reincarnations and Gotant and Pebble were married in another life. Gotant and Pebble say goodbye and Gore teleports away with tears in his eyes. Pebble asks if there is a chance with him and Lady Hornet and death says Pebble was one of her imps in a past life but she never looked at him and never will. Death reveals that Gotant is her type, so if Pebble wants her to like him he needs to become like Gotant. Death gives Gotant advice that he may be a descendant of a god and great hero which Pebble refuses to accept as he is dragged up the stairs. Duraga is sitting on a throne then says he works for Lady Hornet. Pebble insults him then Duraga punches Pebble in the chest. Gotant tries to swing his Oathsworn but Duraga crushes it easily(natural 1) then Gotant needs to pull himself back from fear. Pebble pulls an icicle from his scarf of chaos but it melts in his hand then Duraga kicks him. Gotant stabs him in the junk with his dagger then Duraga grabs Gotant by the head but Gotant jumps back(natural 20!). He slams Gotant against the wall then Pebble pulls a bazooka out of his scarf of chaos. Pebble shoots it but misses and rubble covers part of the staircase. Pebble’s scarf of chaos tightens around his body then Gotant pulls his dagger out of Duraga. Duraga tries to strike Gotant but Pebble uses his arm of chaos to lift and throw him. Gotant and his knight stab him in the head then the knight throws Duraga. Duraga levitates shards of the Oathsworn then sends them flying at Pebble but Pebble blocks them and Gotant divine smites them mid air. Duraga launches himself on Gotant but his knight blocks it then Pebble shoots the roof above Duraga and Gotant. Gotant jumps out of the way(natural 20) then digs Duraga’s face out and punches him in the face. Gotant gives into his barbarian rage from Duraga breaking the Oathsworn , punching him into the dirt as he can barely speak. Duraga asks if that’s the best he can do so Gotant goes up to the next level then double knee drops him, killing him instantly. Gotant scavenges all of the Oathsworn shards then uses a medkit to patch up his now broken hands. Gotant and Pebble head up to the next level then find Shiki and death. Shiki fixes Pebble’s lungs and is unnerved by death just letting her take the crown. Shiki has a moment of doubt but death says she now has the opportunity to take the job, so Shiki places the crown of Duraga on her head then she says for the book of chaos to make death have her job. The book of chaos refuses but Shiki stabs death then he drops his scythe and starts to fade as he says “good job Selina. You will make an amazing death.” Shiki stomps his corpse in angry tears saying it wasn’t supposed to happen this way then she falls to her knees and starts to cry. Gotant tries to reforge the Oathsworn and it starts to slowly come back as Shiki comes to terms with her new role. Pebble says that death said he was proud of her and she was the most qualified which makes Shiki’s eyes water. Shiki’s staff turns into a scythe then Shiki returns Pebble’s book of chaos. Gotant asks to have his sword imbued with the power of death but Shiki says he would need to shirk his paladin-ship and become a reaper. Gotant refuses but Shiki offers either  the power of resurrection of both himself or others once a day or the power to speak to the dead and raise an army. Gotant chooses the boon of resurrection and can now revive anyone once a day. Gotant thanks Shiki and Shiki says he has a week left before the fight of Talos. Shiki looks back at death’s corpse one more time before teleporting all of them out as Lady Hornet storms up the tower.

Gotant awakens and sits on Pebble then surveys his surroundings, lighting a flame spark then finding them in a ship. Gotant sees a crest of the Lionheart embedded in the walls then Pebble wakes up. Gotant says Pebble wanted Lady Hornet to sit on his face so him sitting on Pebble is good practice then points out the ship is the Lionheart. 2 guards come in and reveal the ship is flying then Pebble reveals himself as Gotant shoves him out of the hiding spot they got teleported into. The guards recognize Pebble and shoot him with a tranquilizer dart to cause him to fall unconscious and they drag him away. Gotant looks out nearby windows to find them floating high over the city of Talos then eavesdrops to hear Pebble being tossed in front of Big Tony, Leon Blackfur, and a mysterious woman. Pebble wakes up to find the woman saying she is Shengel, Pebble’s daughter, who has been looking for Pebble. Pebble continuously speculates incorrectly about Shengel’s mother, prompting Shengel to deck Pebble. Shengel says her mother is a farmer, Annette, who let Pebble in because Pebble was an outcast. Shengel says she wants to cause pain to Pebble, causing Pebble to say he has a pain kink, then cuts off Pebble’s finger. Gotant finds he can blow up the energy cell nearby(natural 20!) for a distraction then finds and stuffs 3 parachutes into his bag of holding. Shengel cuts off 2 more of Pebble’s fingers then Pebble says he didn’t know Annette was pregnant, prompting Shengel to grab a giant broad axe. Pebble shoots one of the pirates then Shengel readies the axe, while saying for Pebble to stop the bullshit. Shengel says that Pebble hasn’t even asked about her or her mother, so Pebble asks about Annette but Shengel says she is dead as she cuts off Pebble’s arm. Gotant steals 20 medkits from the pirates’ stash as Shengel goes to get another torture item. Pebble apologizes then Shengel says for him to stick out his tongue, holding shears. Pebble refuses, so Shengel comes back with a sledgehammer then offers either the kneecap or the tongue. Shengel swings at Pebble’s kneecap but stops as Pebble says that he can’t have kids. She offers to hit his groin instead then Pebble asks how Annette died. Shengel says she died from being poor, which Pebble could have fixed, then Pebble angers her more. Pebble asks what her last name is and she says she disowned it because it reminded her of him. Pebble tries to make excuses so Shengel swings the sledgehammer down on his nuts which knocks Pebble unconscious. Gotant goes through Leon Blackfur’s documents to find a contract with death saying that Leon will find artifacts for death in exchange for immortality as well as finding that Big Tony randomly appeared and offered to pay for the Lionheart to be repaired and for it to fly in exchange for hunting down Pebble. Gotant also learns that Big Tony was the person who found Shengel and a lot of Pebble’s illegitimate children, although only 5 survived. Big Tony offered to pay to use her as a bargaining chip but Shengel said Pebble wouldn’t care and offered to torture Pebble instead. Gotant looks for loopholes in Leon’s contract with death and finds it was made with the old death, which makes it invalid because Shiki is the new death. Gotant also inspects the energy core and finds it was put together haphazardly and he could overload it with his spark pries boards away from the side of the ship as Pebble awakens. Shengel asks why Pebble’s body parts are regenerating while Gotant is looting more parachutes then Pebble tells Shengel about the book of chaos. Shengel cuts of Pebble’s foot with a handaxe then Pebble tells Shengel about a pie her mother made for Pebble which makes Shengel put down the axe. Shengel talks with Pebble, causing Big Tony to question her, then Yufore approaches and asks about Gotant. Gotant successfully creates a hole in the floor then puts on his parachute and inspects it to make sure it works. Gotant flame sparks the energy core which blows it up just as Yufore is asking about Gotant. Gotant jumps out of the hole he created and lands safely then Yufore asks Pebble to use his book of chaos to save them. Pebble summons Gwen and gets her to stop time then asks his book of chaos to save Yufore, Shengel, and him. Big Tony and Leon Blackfur press buttons on their coat which teleports them out and sends the ship on a collision course for The Goldfoot estate. Pebble pulls a shrink ray out of his scarf of chaos then shoots the ship with it and Gotant divine smites the falling ship which makes it disappear just before hitting the house. Shengel and Pebble head to the Goldfoot estate and knock on the door just as the house explodes, causing the meteor previously on top of the house to catch on fire. Pebble shoots water to extinguish it but It isn’t very effective so Gotant makes Pebble angry then Pebble shoots a bigger stream of water. Gotant, Yufore, and Shengel run for the hills then Pebble uses a wall of water to extinguish some of the flames. Pebble does it again as Yufore, Shengel, and Gotant watch from a distance then Pebble summons more people. They attack the meteor with water again but Pebble’s chaos magic mixes with the meteor as a dome of pure magical explosion erupts, cratering the Gold Foot Estate. Shengel, Yufore, and Gotant wait for the chaos magic radiation to subside then find that all of Pebble’s chaos artifacts have disappeared in exchange for Pebble’s life. Shengel shakes Pebble awake as Pebble realizes all of the magical artifacts in the house are gone as well. Pebble tries to tell Yufore about Gotant flirting with Beeris but Yufore says he is not interested then Pebble says they should send Yufore in to check out the explosion, so Gotant football punts Pebble. Shengel catches Pebble, saying if anyone will kill him it’s her, then Pebble tries to approach the crater and finds that there is a hole in the center of the crater leading down. Pebble realizes that his father may have evacuated to hell because he is a demon, but still feels enraged at Big Tony. Gotant uses his knight to toss himself into the air to survey the crater and finds the hole as well then gets the knight to launch him again and knows that Rock may have gone to hell. Pebble calls out for Shiki saying that Gotant called her Selina, but Shiki appears and is very angry. Shiki touches Pebble’s ear and it decays, causing Pebble to go deaf in his right ear, then Shengel pushes Pebble aside and says Shiki was there when her mom died. Pebble asks if Rock died and Shiki says they should both know that he didn’t because of the threads of time then Pebble asks Shiki where Big Tony is. She doesn’t tell Pebble or Gotant, but Shengel appeals to Shiki and bows down in front of her so she lets the group know Big Tony is in Talos. Pebble lets Shiki know that Gotant has her resume, so Gotant has to hand it over then Pebble insults Shiki again, so she touches Pebble’s crotch and turns him infertile. Yufore asks about whether the immortality deal is still valid and Shiki says no, so Yufore goes to find Leon Blackfur with Gotant following him. Gwen tells Pebble about Gotant having a parachute and embarrassing pictures of Pebble in his bag of holding after pebble asks for clothes then asks Gwen to rip a hole in Gotant’s bag of holding. Gwen is disappointed in Pebble for not just asking for clothes then insults Pebble for using chaos so much. Pebble apologizes and says he will use Gwen more but Gwen says he has said that before and mocks him. Pebble says saving the world is not his responsibility any more but Gwen says if he wants clothes and her power he will. Pebble says he will help, so Gwen gives him a robe and says sorry for the loss of his testicles. Gwen created a catheter for Pebble to be able to pee with his dead crotch then Pebble and Shengel catch up. Pebble offers for Shengel to meet her siblings but she says meeting Pebble is torture enough then Shengel asks about Gotant and Gotant tells all about his Oathsworn and paladin allegiance. She questions how he could travel with Pebble while being noble, so Gotant tells of him killing Pebble. Shengel walks with Yufore and tries to tell Gotant to back off but Gotant says he was with Yufore first. Shengel intimidates Gotant while Pebble tells his story then Shengel grabs Yufore’s hand. Shengel and Gotant cozy up to Yufore’s arms then Yufore picks up Shengel and Gotant upon their request. Pebble tries to take their attention back to him but Gotant intimidates Pebble into backing off. Yufore is blushing and liking the attention then Pebble climbs on his back. Pebble tries to climb on Gotant but Gotant flings him off and Pebble asks about Yufore’s sexuality. Yufore says he is bisexual and is not against polyamory then they set up camp. Pebble fights Gotant to try to keep him away from Yufore but Gotant continually punts him then Yufore goes to sleep and Gotant keeps watch over him. Pebble calls him a psychopath for that then Shengel wanders off and kills a zombie. and It’s revealed that Daquavius is hovering above Talos as chaos zombies from nearby towns march on the city.

Before Session

Gotant and Pebble come upon the city walls and try to bargain with the guard to let them in by telling of the chaos zombies but he doesn’t believe them. Pebble convinces everyone that they are all strippers then the guard charges them 50 gold each. Gotant and Shengel head off to find information on Big Tony while Pebble argues with Yufore about Shengel coming onto him with Pebble forbidding Shengel from dating. Pebble keeps arguing with Gotant, Shengel, and Yufore prompting Shengel to ask to speak to him alone. Pebble says it is just his personality to be contrarian while Yufore and Gotant go off to find information on Big Tony. A townsperson insults Pebble, so he chases them down and insults them then tries to get Gwen to stop time so that he can pants the rich person and Gwen very reluctantly does it. Pebble does so, takes his wallet, pushes his wife to the ground, then frames another guy for doing it. Pebble restarts time as the townsperson and the framed fight then he starts heading to the bar Gotant, Yufore, and Shengel are in. Gotant asks about Big Tony with the barkeep but it arouses suspicion, so Gotant abbreviates his name and asks for a private room. The bartender obliges then Gotant counts his money in front of her and the bartender tells him that Daquavius was in the ratway by the docks. Pebble comes into the bar and starts arguing with the bartender which makes a distraction for Gotant and Yufore to get out but Pebble insults the bar patrons so they surround him and he hears a gun cock. Pebble reveals that Gotant has gold and a urchin starts stalking Gotant then Pebble is forced to apologize and pay the bartender 200 gold. Gotant asks the guard captain where the docks/sewers are and he points them in the right direction(the poor district) but people block the party in while Pebble searches for a hidden door, eventually finds it, goes in, then seals the door behind him. Gotant summons his knight and Yufore, Gotant, his knight, and Shengel all attack the hired assassins. Gotant and Shengel get hit by them then Gotant and his knight take out two enemies. Yufore takes a hit for Shengel then Shengel drags him away as Gotant and his knight block Yufore from attack. Gotant and his knight finish the final assassin then Gotant stabilizes Yufore and completely heals his wounds. Yufore thanks them then Gotant and Shengel inspect the assassins to find a contract from Big Tony and that their weapons are very high grade. Gotant uses his knight to go through the wall and press the button to open the door after Pebble closed it then sets a trap on the door where the dagger will swing down on the next person who opens it. Gotant finds a button which opens another passageway(natural 20!) then the party goes through. Leon Blackfur is berating Big Tony for not allowing his crew to survive then Pebble interrupts. Leon Blackfur sniffs out the rest of the party and the party realizes that Shengel was taken from behind them then Gotant suggests killing Big Tony but Leon and Yufore realize that Big Tony has the cursed coin that makes him immortal. Pebble went running out and sealed them in so Gotant and his knight start attacking the wall then Big Tony says that he just wants Gotant’s sword and he will give the coin back for it, but Gotant and Yufore sense there is something missing. Gotant uses his knight to press the button to open the passage they came from then Pebble attacks the captain of the guard for kidnapping his daughter. This causes Big Tony to tell his men to kill Shengel as Pebble comes upon her dead body. Pebble tries to resuscitate Shengel but it fails and Gotant tries to get Leon to attack Big Tony. Leon refuses, saying it’s futile now he no longer has the coin or a free, and Gotant and Yufore go back to the city, ignoring Big Tony’s offer to take care of Daquavius in exchange for Gotant’s sword. Pebble summons death and tries to get her to trade his soul for Shengel’s, but she refuses as it is not his soul to give and is insulted. Shiki says that if Pebble followed the rules of being a good person and staying with his party it would have never happened then leaves Pebble. Pebble asks Gwen to turn back time but Gwen said she asked him repeatedly if he wanted to use stop time to pants the rich townsperson and he said he did, so he now has to wait a full day before using it again. Pebble rushes back to the sewers past Gotant and Yufore towards Big Tony then accuses him of killing Shengel but Tony says it was just the consequences of his actions. Pebble insults Tony and offers to give him a map to a much more powerful magical artifact but Tony refuses as zombies swarm the city. Big Tony shoots Leon Blackfur in the head and says for Pebble to tell Yufore then Pebble goes back out. Yufore asks why Pebble killed the guard captain, holding him up to emphasize the crazy action, and Pebble says it was because he killed Pebble’s daughter then Pebble asks Gotant for his sword. Gotant refuses and says that he does have an artifact that can revive people(the mechanical heart) but refuses to revive Shengel because Pebble left them to die and he can’t be sure Pebble will help save the world if he does bring Shengel back. Gotant runs to the sewers and asks Yufore who he wants to save then Yufore picks Shengel. Yufore puts Leon to rest then Gotant and Yufore run back and put the mechanical heart into Shengel. Gotant shocks Shengel 3 times and eventually she finally comes back to life. Her wounds heal from her chaos magic, which Shengel acts ignorant to, then Pebble faints from the blood. Gotant punches Pebble awake then Pebble throws the guard captain’s body to the zombies and they all run outside to fight the zombies.

Before Session

Gotant and his knight attack a chaos zombie to knock it out then stomp its head in to finish it. A zombie and Yufore attack each other but miss then Pebble charges in and helps Yufore, hitting the zombie with an eldritch blast then Shengel attacks and is hit by zombies. Shengel takes a lot of damage, so disengages as Gotant and his knight charge in and take down 1 of the 3 zombies around him with a whirlwind attack. Pebble attacks the zombie next to him and Yufore with acid breath which kills it then Gotant whirlwinds which kills the remaining 2 around him. Pebble heals Shengel then Gotant stomps out the final zombie as he throws Shengel a medkit. Yufore says for Pebble to make a wall then hunkers down as Pebble fails once but eventually succeeds. Dequavious explodes a nearby building which causes Gotant to need to go back and dig out Yufore although Yufore is still unconscious. Gotant’s knight shoots a weak smite at the nearby zombies then Shengel comes over to Yufore and screams for Pebble to help. Pebble comes toward the zombies on the other side of Yufore as Dequavious blows up another building and Gotant charges forward, taking down 3 zombies with Gotant’s cleave and his knight’s attack. Pebble uses a magic circle to dispel 2 zombies then Gotant finishes off 3 more zombies. Dequavious blows up another building and Gotant discerns Dequavious is in the central building(through triangulation) then tries to break in but his sword bounces off and Dequavious blows up the closest house. Gotant runs back around and blesses the door which causes it to explode due to an unseen fire rune and Pebble to be shot into a nearby building. Shengel, Yufore, and Gotant all head into it and give medical aid to Pebble as the building starts to glow. Gotant pulls Yufore out of the rubble but Shengel dies and Yufore and Gotant have to go back in and pull Pebble out of the rubble. Gotant feeds them both rations until they are full health then they push inside to find Dequavious. Gotant, Yufore, and Pebble find themselves in an area constantly casting hold person on them as Dequavious confronts them. Dequavious reveals it was his plan to have Pebble assemble all of the chaos artifacts for him to claim, but they all disintegrated anyway making Dequavious very displeased. Gotant frees himself, Pebble, and Yufore but Dequavious shoots a chaos bolt at Yufore which knocks him out. Gotant tries to use his card of balance on Dequavious and Dequavious tries to wrench it away from Gotant but Pebble casts a circle of magic which causes Dequavious to drop it in agony. Dequavious reveals his full chaos form and his chaos energy starts to rip Gotant apart but he barely manages to use his card of balance then Pebble casts his circle of death. The circle of death kills both Dequavious and Gotant and they both start to dissipate as Dequavious says Pebble was supposed to be the chosen one. Varlek erupts from Dequavious’s body and offers for Pebble to be his next vessel but Pebble rejects him as Varlek disappears into the sky to look for another vessel. An eerie silence comes over the room as Gotant goes to sleep then Pebble wakes up Yufore. Gotant is surrounded by darkness as he feels his body dying but as it is decaying his body starts to repair itself and his heart starts beating. He feels something in his blood stream spreading emanating from the vampire bite on his neck, him now feeling stronger and possessing fangs. All Gotant can hear is Pebble and Yufore’s heartbeats and blood rushing through their veins, which he is drawn to, then he stumbles forward. Gotant tries to summon his knight but it fails due to him now being an unholy creature and his Oathsworn has become dull. Gotant bites down on Yufore to make him into a vampire, which drains some of his blood and causes Yufore to come back awake and stronger. Gotant drags Yufore into the sewers as Pebble finds Shengel and she awakens. Shengel feels like she died and now is unsure of how she is still alive and awake. She says she has a headache and Pebble tries detect magic on her twice and fails but successfully does it the third time. He realizes Varlek has chosen Shengel as his next vessel but he is sleeping currently. Shengel reveals she remembers shooting Yufore with the chaos bolt but is unsure of how or why she has chaos powers then she grabs Pebble by the throat and forces him to explain the chaos powers from his blood. Shengel is enraged hearing Pebble refused to be Varlek’s vessel and forced the burden on her then says if Pebble looks for her she will kill him as she disappears. 

In an undisclosed location Shiki is doing a large amount of paperwork as footsteps approach and Big Tony confronts her about being in possession of the cursed coin now. Big Tony says the Goldfoots have been in charge for too long, so he should become a reaper and kill Pebble and Rock. Big Tony says Pebble is a loose cannon who will rise up against Rock eventually, so he should just kill them both to stop the problem early. Shiki agrees because Pebble called her Selina continually and she wants to put him into purgatory. Shiki turns Big Tony into a reaper as his skin melts away and he gains a new suit and cigar. 

In between Campaign 1 and Campaign 2:

Gotant and Yufore build up the city of Talos again, turning the sewer system into their new lair and adding a combination lock to it that also starts a blood drip only vampires can hear when triggered. They build up a collection of thralls from attacks of nearby bandits and eventually fully rebuild the city of Talos as a community for Gotant and Yufore’s subjects.
