Dear Pathfinder Explorers and Parents

Please find attached the on-line Explorer curriculum provided by the South Pacific Division. There are two lots of requirements: Basic and Advanced. To receive investiture for Explorers, you will need to fulfil at least the Basic requirements.

There are seven sections of basic requirements. Under the basic requirements, you have already completed the health section, and the nature (astronomy) section.

I am hearing some great reports about some of the innovative ways that we are reaching out in the Serving Others section during this time.

We have not made a start on the Camping and Survival Section. However, the on-line curriculum has some excellent video’s and information sheets regarding this.

New to this curriculum, is the General, Bible Search and Church Heritage Sections.

Since you have started reading the Gospel of John, please continue with this, rather than reading the Hunter Chronicles. Once you have read the Gospel of John, You will need to write a reflection on one of the following passages:

John 13: 12-17 (Humility); John 14: 1-3 (Lord’s Promise); John 15: 5-8 (Vine and Branches).

Two of the basic requirements are to complete two honours.

The girls have chosen the Flower honour and since we have already completed most of the astronomy components of Explorers, we should be able to continue on with the Star Honour. Workbooks and Information pertaining to both honours can be found on this site. If you download the Flower honour Power point onto your computers you should have access to the PPT notes for each slide which gives you the various links.

By having the curriculum on line, you can do as much or as little of the work you like at any time. Try to set yourselves a goal of working through this on-line curriculum for at least an hour or two a week and you will find that you will comfortably meet all the requirements by then end of the year.
